Experience the absolute quiet of our all-adobe southwestern home. Enjoy your own private entrance and private bath, access to our gourmet kitchen and the riverside trails directly behind the house. If the weather is warm, feel free to hang out in the walled patio and watch the hummingbirds.

スペース

Located in a rural village between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, this unique adobe home is owned by a couple who have spent their lives in the performing and literary arts. Corrales is a true New Mexican village. The house is situated on a beautiful acequia (ditch bank) with a trail that provides walking, jogging, biking and horse-riding paths among treasured cottonwood trees. Art galleries, fine restaurants and distinctive shops are located nearby. You can rent bikes in the village, too.

Corrales is close to everything, yet far away in spirit from the big city. This hidden gem offers visitors a glimpse into the past with its restored hacienda and historic mission church and historic adobe architecture.

Your room includes a private entrance, private bath, queen bed, ample closet and drawer space, cable TV/stereo system, DVD and wireless. A wonderful gourmet kitchen is available for your use along with a huge cookbook collection. There is a library full of books about travel and history in New Mexico and the west.

This is a favorite stopping place for balloonists. Balloon Fiesta Park and Anderson Abruzzo Balloon museum are only 15 minutes away. Undiscovered Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, Santa Fe and six Indian Pueblo villages are all less than an hour away.

On your tour of our home, you will see an outstanding collection of Navajo rugs, Pueblo pottery and Hopi Kachinas along with contemporary paintings, sculpture and photography.

ゲストの立入り範囲

Joseph was warm and welcoming. (I did not meet Laurel). The room itself has a comfortable bed and the dressers and closets were actually empty so I could have stored a lot of things had I needed to. It was decorated with a lot of care. I would have enjoyed a little more natural light but it was still lovely. The bathroom was small but clean, pretty, and worked well for me. I was coming for a family event so did not need a lot of information about the area, but Joseph could definitely have provided a great list of things to do and see. Joseph offered me free run of the kitchen and the rest of the house which is lovely. I could easily have spent more time in this peaceful setting.

Amazing hosts. Joseph and Laurel are warm and welcoming. As a female traveling alone, they welcomed me for wine and cheese and home-cooked dinners. On my days out, they provided me expert recommendations for my time in Albuquerque. Joseph and Laurel are special hosts, if you are planning a visit to Albuquerque, rent a car, and stay with them! Can't wait to go back!

What a wonderful experience! Staying with Joseph and Laurel in their enchanting adobe made our trip to the international balloon fiesta so unique. The house was incredible and their hospitality was even better. If we ever get the opportunity to go back to Albuquerque we will definitely stay here! We were greeted with a quick tour, a glass of wine, and wonderful conversation. The room was perfect and the bed was an absolute dream at the end of each day. Couldn’t have asked for better hosts, thanks guys!

Abby and Brandon were excellent guests. As is often the case, our schedules and their didn't connect very well. But we had a chance to visit with them upon their arrival. Everything went according to plan; they were very respectful of the house rules. We highly recommend them to future hosts.

Joseph and Laurel's place was great - I was able to take a walk along the river and the coyotes singing at night were a plus. I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend a stay here.

If you have an interest in meeting progressive people that have led interesting lives you will enjoy meeting us. Come to New Mexico and hang out. We promise it will be fun. We often urge our guests to join us for dinner or breakfast, so please don't feel shy if we offer an invitation. If you prefer to keep to yourself, that's ok, too. You will have your own entrance and can have as much privacy as you like.

Laurel and I have had long careers in the musical arts, most notably with Relâche in Philadelphia. Relâche remains one of America's foremost organizations dedicated to the creation and performance of new and experimental music.

Excuse me while I change to third person:

Joseph Franklin was the founder of Relâche. Over 23 years, the ensemble performed worldwide, recorded extensively and commissioned over 200 musical works. Joseph left Philadelphia to take direct a performing arts facility in Montana and a chamber music presenter in Albuquerque. Trained as a composer and percussionist, Franklin is now dedicating his creative time to writing and consulting on projects that are of interest to him. (There are many.) His memoire "SETTLING SCORES: A Life in the Margins of American Music,” was published by Sunstone Press in 2006.

After studying in London and Philadelphia, Laurel Wyckoff joined the Relâche Ensemble as principal flutist and performed with orchestras and ensembles throughout the Philadelphia area. Laurel has held executive positions in music education and cultural and government agencies. She was program director for the Montana Arts Council and spent a three-year stint as the Secretary for Cultural Development and Historic Preservation in Louisiana. She currently manages Outreach and Education for New Mexico PBS.
