Welcome to your Home away from Home ! This suite room named ‘Mahajan Suite’ is the biggest room of French Haveli - A 150 year old, artistically restored Gujarati heritage home.
It is a thrill of drama and colours and homeliness. Maintaining its splendid traditional structure, the ‘Haveli’ offers a unique experience of living in the historic old city of Ahmedabad ’, recently awarded UNESCO- WORLD HERITAGE CITY. Living in this house is to experience the Gujarati culture with comfort and luxury.
The French Haveli is a Boutique Hertiage Home. The central court of the French Haveli is open to view the sky, which gets in optimum air and light. This is generally the soul of all Havelis. The Jhula (traditionally a swing) is a place to relax and feel the calming effects of the home-like Haveli.
The Suite gives you luxury of Large king size bed , private lounge, personal terrace with Gazebo to spend quality time. The large bathroom has a dress area fitted with Indian marble and traditional furniture.The terrace has a dining table where we can also serve you breakfast and the sit outs perfect for you to spend quality time.
Staying in this house, you will experience privacy and yet be part of the central community space that this French Haveli overlooks upon. The Lounge at the ground floor , the dining at 1s floor and the library at 2nd floor has its own individual charisma and can ultimately be the best choice for you to experience the serenity of the spaces and traditional design.
The ‘French Haveli’ is a Bed and Breakfast. We serve you a freshly cooked breakfast. The vegetables and ingredients are purchased from the nearby markets in the Historic City Centre, “Manek Chowk”. Our house keeping team will look after you. You will have any opportunity to interact with the other guest on the dining table or in the lounge. We can also make the luch and dinner on request.
This room has the maximum access from all the ground level to the top floor areas. The library at the 2nd floor , the dining at the 1st floor and the court at the ground.
We interact with the guest as per their choice.
Living at French haveli can be a very exotic experience as you also get to experience the traditional neighbourhood. One can do the various heritage walks, explore the neighbourhood walking , visit the restored havelis, do the city tours, try the gujrati culinary. Thus explore the unique living heritage and watch the culture first hand to understand what makes Ahmedabad 600 year old city India's 1st Unesco 'World Heritage City'.
Wearing no shoes is the part of the Gujrati culture , we would love to you practice this.
We would not allow any non vegetarian food as this is Jain pol. ( Jain religion ethos )

Staying in the restored havelis in our old city in the Historic community called 'POL' is a very authentic and memorable experience. ‘POL’ A special feature of the Old city, Pols are self-contained neighbourhoods, virtually small villages, traversed by narrow streets, usually terminating in squares with community spaces.
Recently Ahmedabad old city got the tag of “UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE CITY’. We look forward to share with you our part in this 2 decade long ‘Citizens Initiative’ of ‘Old city Revitalisation and Heritage preservation project’ . We have done our part by restoring many havelis.
I like art and interiors. Rajiv is passionately pushing the ‘Old city revitalisation project’. The French Havel,Dodhia haveli, Deewanji ni haveli i and now Baghban haveli are projects we worked as a team for the restoration , interiors and project implementation. I will love to have you visit this Heritage Homes.
