The apartment is located less than 3 miles from Interstate 295 Exit 20, but is located in a quiet rural residential area. The apartment is also only a short 5 minute drive from downtown Freeport.

I grew up in Freeport, Maine and we moved backed to Freeport about five years ago. We are very excited to offer our newly finished barn apartment space. I actually grew up next door to where we live. I remember the barn being built by Mr. Hawks. Mr. Hawks owned and farmed much of the surrounding area. If you look closely, you can still see the path the cows used to across the street to graze the field. The 1st floor of the barn was originally used for the cows, and the 2nd and 3rd floors were used as hay lofts. When we purchased our home 5 years ago, we wanted to use the barn in a different way; it was being used to store antiques. We envisioned the 2nd floor as an apartment, but it would be a huge project. We started with replacing the roof and installing a septic system. The roof is the only work we did not complete ourselves. Over 3 years we worked tirelessly to complete the apartment. We believe our guests will see our hard work and attention to detail. We will continue to work hard, so our guests have a wonderful and relaxing experience when visiting.
