There is a clean, tropical feel to ocean front Ma’alaea Kai #202, with its bamboo floors, plantation shutters, and colorful island art. The resort is quiet, secluded—yet centrally located on the island for easy commutes (15 to 40 minutes) to most attractions on Maui. The bedroom is serene, with a queen bed; the living room has a sleeper sofa; and the bathroom has a lovely walk-in shower—these combine to make the condo comfortable for 4 guests. Prepare meals in the pretty kitchen or at the meticulously maintained BBQ stations to enjoy on your lanai, with its exquisite ocean views. Stay cool with ceiling fans and 2 split A/Cs, and connected with complementary cable TV and high-speed internet.
Outside, everything is beautifully maintained, the heated pool, the BBQ station with gas grills, the edge of ocean charcoal grills, the line of lounge chairs on the luxurious lawn, and the tropical plants and landscape. More, everything is ocean front; from your unit or the grounds you have preferred seating to what’s happening over the bay: sunrises and sets, the clear, bright moon, the incredibly spangled, starry night sky . . . harbor boats full of guests on adventures, outrigger canoers, stand-up paddlers, snorkelers and surfers—and during whale season, Humpback Whales join the mix to perform aerially acrobatic breaches and demonstrate various spouts, spins and slaps—right in front of you, off and on, all day long.
Nearby are two attractions to explore—to the east is Sugar Beach, a shoreline stretch of 2.5 miles that is uninterrupted by buildings of any kind. Pick your pace: saunter, stroll, walk, jog, lope, or flat-out run all the way to N. Kihei. Get some refreshments and hele on back to home base—you are renewed for another day. The harbor is a few minutes walk to the west—it is where you board the boats for the ocean adventures you booked—snorkel trips, sunset sails, and whale watches in season. Staying near the resort has its benefits for sure!
