Able to sleep up to 10 people (and a mature pet or 2 as well), Hill Top Mountain View is especially well suited for several couples, 2 families, or a group of friends vacationing together. The ranch-style home has its own guest wing, accessible via the covered rear deck. In addition to its own en-suite bedroom, this wing includes a game room and a 2nd kitchen.
Spread out on a leafy property with a fenced-in backyard, Hill Top Mountain View is all on one floor. Its living room is delightfully bright, thanks to a wall of windows looking out onto a deck and skylights dotting the beamed cathedral ceiling. Between the handsome roll-arm sofa and the numerous armchairs, there’s plenty of seating for everyone to gather to play a game or watch a movie on the flat-panel TV with cable. On winter nights you’re sure to appreciate the stone-surround fireplace.
Just off the kitchen is the large main kitchen and dining area. Recently upgraded, the kitchen is a cook’s delight, with stainless-steel appliances, plenty of cookware and tableware, and room for several people to assist the chef. There’s also plenty of storage, enabling you to stock up on groceries at the beginning of your stay, rather than make a daily trip to the store. If you have a hankering for barbecue, you can take advantage of the outdoor grill.
Each of the 3 bedrooms in the main wing of Hill Top Mountain View has a lofty king-size bed and its own bathroom. Having a full bathroom for each bedroom is so convenient: You won’t have to line up to take a shower. Though all of the bedrooms are spacious and restful, with elegant furnishings and direct access to a deck, the master suite is especially luxe: It includes a sitting area and, in its bathroom, a sunken soaking tub, a separate shower, and dual sinks.
The bedroom in the guest quarters has a queen-size bed and its own bathroom. There’s a game room here too, outfitted with a full-size pool table. The kitchen in this wing is nearly as large as Hill Top Mountain View’s main kitchen. If you’re hosting a party or a holiday dinner while in town, you’ll really appreciate the extra appliances, storage, and counter space.
The main house has its own bonus room: an office. Hopefully you won’t have to work during your stay, but if you do, you’ll be happy to know that Hill Top Mountain View has free WiFi. The office doubles as a 5th bedroom, thanks to a sofa that opens into a queen-size bed.
Hill Top Mountain View’s outdoor spaces are as inviting as its indoor ones. In warmer weather you’ll want to spend hours on the huge covered rear deck. Along with comfortably cushioned settees and chairs for lounging, it offers a patio table for dining alfresco. The backyard has a large hot tub too. After a day on the go, your weary muscles will appreciate a lazy soak among its massaging jets of steamy water.
Of Hill Top Mountain View’s many amenities, the greatest might be its convenient location. In just 5 minutes you can drive to Cree Meadows Golf Course in one direction and the galleries and shops of Sudderth Drive in the other. Only 10 minutes away are Ruidoso Downs horse track; the Hubbard Museum of the American West; and Grindstone Lake and Trail System, where you can fish, boat, hike, ride mountain bikes and horses, and play disc golf; you might also see mule deer, black bears, elk, and eagles while there. What’s more, Ski Apache, the southernmost continually operating ski resort in the country, is less than 45 minutes away. (Speaking of skiing and snow, in winter you might need a 4x4 or chains on a 2-wheel drive vehicle to access the home.)
When you stay at Hill Top Mountain View, you can hit the links, the slopes, the trails, and the shops, then return to the comfort and serenity of your home away from home. So what are you waiting for? Book your stay today!
