Michelle -I do apologize you feel you did not have a pleasant experience throughout your stay. However, let me address some of these hyperbole statements you have made in your review regarding the conditions of your stay.
I own a three-floor flat that I share with my family and own two more flats in the near distance perhaps the visitors that my family received seem to have confused you in perhaps how many people live in MY home.
I recently bought the mattress in the room you stayed in, three other guests have stayed prior to your visit and one guest after your departure, and I also slept in the guest room to evaluate the conditions of the mattress you slept on was perhaps uncomfortable- No other guest has complained, and I found the bed comfortable. If you where to visit a Hilton, Marriot, Days Inn, Holiday Inn or etc. and found the bed uncomfortable, what would your expectation be? The hotel to change the bed?
Also, in London many homes are old after some time-dust will occur in the room especially if you spend six days in a room dear- this is a private room that gets cleaned prior to your visit. Whatever happens in-between your stay is your dirtying. I leave cleaning products in the room incase you may need any throughout your visit. You did not communicate throughout your visit where any soap, detergents, sprays or anything else was located.
Let’s also address the issue of the size of the room- the room is a medium size room in a BIG city, which large cities also contain homeless people not always drunk. Any large city you visit in Europe you will find a small homeless population throughout. Not just Europe but in other parts of the world. London is no different. They are not in every corner, but you might see one a day. Brixton is a hip and middle-class area in London-it is not Westminster where the queen lives. You will see graffiti, art work, some clean shopping areas, flea markets, pubs, people playing music near the underground and more.
The entrance of the flat is a commercial glass entrance- for our safety we do not use that entrance, we use the alley entrance that connects you to the patio. Believe it or not…homes and businesses have rubbish. Two large commercial and two residential containers (one for recycle and the other for the rubbish). I do apologize that seeing the rubbish containers may have upset you.
My home is a family home- not the Ritz. Its clean and in a convenient location. There is nothing luxurious regarding my flat. It has all the niceties for an average Joe- who wants to save money and pay 27 pounds per night. I offer my guest lots of room and privacy and have an open line in case you may have any needs that I can accommodate for you.
Again-I really am sorry you seemed not to have a pleasant stay but perhaps this experience may bring you some new worldly knowledge.
