A very special place! The Kauri Hut is around 150 years old and was relocated here from Taupo, where it apparently served as a tiny schoolhouse many years ago. It's pure native timber (we think kauri, rimu and matai) and has now been renovated in keeping with the style, using recycled tawa floorboards from the milkshed of the dairy farm which is now the local rugby field. Facilities are rustic - come prepared for outdoor shower, sink and composting toilet, and enjoy this unique space!
