We have an inviting detached room on our property, which is separate from the house and where you will have your own entrance.
We are a 15 minute drive from down town Whangarei (16km) and the location is ideal for a quiet stay away from the city, or as a stop over on your trip around Northland.
The spacious room has a queen bed, drawers, TV, table and chairs, microwave, small fridge, toaster and kettle plus essential crockery and cutlery.

The toilet and bathroom is a shared space. It is located in the main house, approx 15 metres walk from your separate room.
Tea, coffee and milk is provided (breakfast is not included).
There are no kitchen facilities available, but you are welcome to use the appliances in your room (microwave, small fridge, toaster and kettle plus essential crockery and cutlery).

We have sheep and are also surrounded by horses, sheep, cows and pigs via the neighboring properties.
Admire up close the craftmanship of the historic stone walls.
Enjoy the elevated views of Maungatapere mountain to the south east, and of the farmland to the north.

Maungatapere is a rural community, dominated by Maungatapere Mountain, an extinct volcano. The area has rich volcanic soil, which boasts many orchards. The stone walls (which you can view from the guesthouse) were built by former soldiers and are a key feature of the area. There is at least one paddock between our property and any neighbours, giving you privacy and space.

We are a South African/New Zealand family of four, living in Whangarei, New Zealand

Now that we have put roots down in Whangarei, our travels have reduced significantly. So we are always keen to hear where our guests have come from and what they are up to - we will live vicariously through you! We absolutely respect your privacy however, and as your room is separate to the house, you have your own little peaceful retreat.
These days we spend the bulk of our down time at our one acre property, so are mostly available for any queries.
