It is with regret that I am announcing the temporary closure of the Queen Anne Bed and Breakfast. The challenges of the coronavirus are making it impossible for me to host travelers. I miss my Airbnb family. For nine years I have been welcoming new and returning guests into my home. It is not the same around here without you. Thank you for your patronage and loyalty. We'll be back, one way or another!

お部屋
I invite you to be my guest in my period Victorian house, centrally located and close to highways, downtown restaurants, hospitals, and Binghamton University. In the style of a traditional B&B, I serve a healthy breakfast, which requires that I charge NY State sales tax, included in the price. Stay for a week and get a free night. Stay for a month and get a free week. For extended stays I can offer a deeper discount if you make your own breakfast. Inquiries welcome. There is no cleaning fee.

I have two guest rooms at the Queen Anne Bed and Breakfast. This listing is for Room #1, the larger of the two rooms, a sunny space with a pillow-top queen-sized bed. The room also contains a dresser and a small couch. It accommodates two adults, and I can tuck in a cot for a small child. The room is air-conditioned.

My two guestrooms share the full upstairs bathroom, which has an enormous claw foot tub with a hand-held shower head for a sit-down shower. I supply shampoo and a hair dryer for your use, and there is a drawer where you can store personal items while you are visiting. I also have a half-bath off the sitting room downstairs.

I provide an informal, self-serve breakfast--granola or oatmeal, toast, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. I will do my best to satisfy your dietary cravings or restrictions. Weather permitting, you can enjoy coffee or tea in the garden.

I offer wireless Internet access throughout the house, off-street parking, and kitchen privileges. You are always free to brew yourself a cup of coffee or tea. I encourage travel-weary guests to do their laundry and make themselves a home-cooked meal. I also have an iron and an ironing board that you are welcome to use.

My house was built in 1892 for Chester Larrabee, co-owner of the Sturtevant-Larrabee Company, Builders of Fine Carriages and Sleighs. I purchased the house in 1990 from the estate of Helen Larrabee, the youngest of seven children, who lived here her whole life. The house is well-preserved example of the Queen Anne style, with chestnut and oak moldings that have never been painted, pocket doors, three fireplaces, a laundry chute, and potato bins in the pantry. I love sharing this historic gem with my guests

Here is what a recent guest wrote about her stay: "This was my second time with Mary, and it was as wonderful as the first. Hers is a well lived in house, and you feel it the moment you step inside. Mary is much more than a host. She welcomes you into her life as if you were family. Staying with her is not like going away at all. It is more like going home."

You are welcome to enjoy the front parlor, where you can browse through my vintage vinyl collection or watch movies on the wide-screen TV. I own far too many books. If you find one you particularly like, let me know. It could be yours. For longer stays I offer a small refrigerator and a shelf for your provisions. In warm weather the front and back porches are available for your enjoyment, as well as the garden.

その他の特記事項
Because you are requesting to stay at the Queen Anne B&B, I'm sure that you will arrive with the appreciation that it is not a hotel, but rather my private home with all the quirks of a period house. The stairs creak a little, so please be considerate of the other guests if you come home late at night. I do not charge a cleaning fee, so I would be grateful if you would put your used sheets and towels in the hamper by the front stairs before you leave.

My bathroom does not have the convenience of a stand-up shower, but what I can offer is a relaxing bath in a splendid cast iron tub. You are welcome to use the shower head, but please stay seated and be careful not to get water on the bathroom floor. Should an accident happen, there are plenty of towels on hand.

I am sorry that I cannot accept pets.

The price per night and week includes a mandatory 8% NY State Room Tax. Monthly stays are non-taxable. My New York State Tax ID number is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).

Airbnb depends upon trust among its members, which is why I require my guests to have a Verified ID. It can take a little time to complete the process, but the friendly Airbnb team will be glad to help you through the process. Use your profile to tell the community a little about yourself. Where do you work? Perhaps you have a website. Any details are welcome. And when you make your inquiry, let me know why you are coming to Binghamton. That way I will be better able to meet your needs.

My house is located in an urban neighborhood close to downtown and very close to bus routes. It is about five miles from Binghamton University, and BU Blue Buses and Binghamton City buses travel to and from there regularly. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance. I've got menus on hand. I have had a long professional involvement in the world of art and antiques, including an antique frame business. I am a writer and a community activist, and I love to cook and garden. I have a dog and a cat for company, and they enjoy being Airbnb hosts as much as I do. I moved to my 1892 Queen Anne style house twenty years ago, and I have been renting a bedroom in my house for extra income for years, first to graduate students and commuting faculty members at Binghamton University, with which I have a long association, and now through Airbnb.

I make it a point to be home to greet my guests and give them a key, and I am usually available during their stay. I look forward to our having breakfast together. It is one of the most enjoyable parts of being an Airbnb host.
