Two large dinner tables, 400 sf deck with stunning mountain views to hangout or grill, plus a King sofa bed in shared space, make it the perfect place for family or business meet ups. We're in the absolute center of Buffalo with easy walks to the best restaurants & shops!
This is a great place for business travelers or family group that wants to meet/conference while they travel. It's also great for reunions, weddings and anniversaries. If your family needs to be here for a loved one in the hospital this is a good place to stay as it's quiet most of the time.
The Mini Place is an historic place that was the first permanent US Post Office and Newspaper Office for the Buffalo Bulletin -- and it's filled with history, inspiration, art and a 400 sf deck that looks out over the Bighorn Mountains! The deck includes a gas Weber Grill and everything you need for a nice dinner -- including a Keurig with coffee pods waiting for you for after dinner or early am. The kitchenette is stocked and geared for the traveler's needs -- not for the gourmet cook. So there are two burners, small oven, microwave and lots of spices, dishes and pans/pots, and two small under-the-counter fridges, etc. The listing says AC, but full disclosure is to say we use the traditional "Swamp Cooler" that is a part of our Western culture. It cools things down, by creating cool air flow. It's a part of the West and we'll leave instructions!
You'll have your own unique private room with Queen Bed that sleeps two comfortably. If you need extra economical sleeping space there's the sofa couch in the living room. It's available on first dibs and $10/person extra for this comfy King Sofa bed with TV. Shared space includes kitchenette, coffee and tea room, extra large open concept living and dining room, bathroom with shower-tub, dedicated WIFI two computer station, and beautiful large mountain view deck with grill!
We'll be there to greet you and help orient you if you get in before 5 or 6pm most days. We have flex check-in at the Mini Place and send you a key code for entry anytime of day. Then we'll catch you the next day on any questions or local history. But if you want your privacy, then we respect that too. Just let us know you want your space. We're from Wyoming -- we get it!
If you have problems we're there for you! We want you to love Buffalo as much as we do. So just call us at the number we'll leave in a handy place if you have needs and we'll get back to you in a timely fashion.
Good news! As of August 1, 2017, AirBnB will be handling the mandatory lodging taxes for us by default. So no more dealing with that when you get here!
What this place is not. On the one hand we are very easy going folks and we love having folks visit -- no matter your back ground, gender, ethnic or religious beliefs we are so happy to meet you!
What we are not is a great place for those who have very young kids who need to throw things around or aren't good around stairs! Older kids are fine as they are able to get out and about and enjoy Buffalo which is totally safe!
Unfortunately, for those who have physical disabilities this is probably not a good place as we only have stair access -- sorry to say there is NO elevator and there has never been a working elevator in any hotel in this downtown! However, if you get here during daylight hours we will be happy to help you upstairs with your suitcases or leave you our cool stair climber lift! But it is a reality that these old buildings have beautiful old staircases -- so take your time and enjoy the going up and down!
- Older kids are fine - like 8 or 9 and up. If you have kids, please, call us.
- Quiet hours are 10:30 pm to 7 am.
- Please take shoes off when entering and use your slippers and socks! Our floors are old and beautiful!
- Showers - we're conserving water so 20 minutes, please. And 10 minutes in between. Sign up for showers outside the bathroom door!
- Please keep the TV & Music to a reasonable level.
The Mini Place is the home of The Mini, our local free community paper. As a non-profit we try to help make things happen for other small nonprofits doing community work, small rural businesses that can't find affordable ways to promote themselves, and we support education and training in the publishing area. We do all this while running this cool little coffee house, which acts as a meeting place when folks need one. So we have started a mini Airbnb for folks who are passing through that NEED an affordable place to stay -- esp if you have family in hospital or there is a sudden illness. Or you are a business needing some space for a bunch of you to work and hang while you are passing through. We're a cool place to hang for a while and we enjoy meeting all who come through here. Welcome!
