Recently renovated croft house set in an idylic location with the Cuillin Hills providing a dramatic backdrop. With open views of the countryside, we are situated in a traditional crofting community. Our croft was the site of the last weaver's cottage in the area. There are 2 local pubs/restaurants within 5 minute walk or driving distance. Close to the Talisker whisky distillery and the foot of the Cuillin Hills. Ideally situated for walkers and centrally based for the rest of the Island.
We have recently renovated and extended a derelict traditional 1920's Weaver's croft house, which now provides a contemporary, bright and open plan home. Although the landscaping is still a work in progress.
The spacious bedroom has a king size bed with an en-suite shower room. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. A traditional British cooked breakfast will be served in the Dining area.
We love the tranquil setting of our home and hope you will too.
Whilst renovation works were in progress we lived on-site in a caravan so we hope you will appreciate the uniqueness of the space and share in our vision for the rest of our small area of Eutopia.
Our house was home to the last person to weave Port na Skye tweed in the 1970s from the weaving shed which still stands next to the house. You will see a number of these sheds doted along the route to Portnalong.
Guests will have access to the Dining area for breakfast, but we request that the kitchen and lounge are respected as our space.
Your bedroom and en-suite shower room are totally private for your use.
Access through the Utility room is preferred should you be unfortunate to get caught in a downpour or arrive home with muddy boots.
We are happy to have a chat with guests and provide advice as to where to go and what to see if requested. If we don't have the answer immediately to hand, we probably know someone who does.
To set you up for the day we will provide you with a traditional British breakfast comprising: orange juice, cereal, eggs, sausage, bacon, black pudding, tomato, mushrooms and baked beans. Toast and jam/marmalade, tea and/or coffee. For guests staying more than one night we can vary breakfast options to suit your requirements.
Should you have specific dietary requirements or wish something different for breakfast please advise us before arrival. We will endeavour to meet your request, subject to availability.
Breakfast will be served from 08:00 - 08:30. However we are happy to change these times to accommodate your itinerary if required.
As our local pub/restaurant, The Taigh Ailean, is only open for an evening meal Friday, Saturday and Sundays from October to April, from October we can provide an evening meal if required, for an additional charge. Evening meals will be available between 17:30 - 19:00 hours. Please indicate at time of booking if an evening meal will be required.
However, the Old Inn at Carbost and Seumas Bar at Sligachan are both open all year.
NO food or drink allowed in the room apart from tea/coffee, biscuits as provided. There are no cooking facilities for guests as the kitchen is our private area.
It would be appreciated if your outdoor shoes/boots are removed and left at the front door.
Because of the layout of our property we would request that quiet time is observed between 23:00 hours and 06:00 hours.
Strictly No parties or events.
