Casa la Era is a rural house of more than 300m2 in the village of Mecina Fondales ( La Taha). It consists of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a large kitchen/dining room and two lounge areas. The beautiful and extensive garden incorporates a large stone terrace which resembles a traditional threshing circle and offers stunning views of the countryside and surrounding mountains. We would be delighted to welcome you here.
Casa la Era is a wonderful example of typical architecture of the region, with ceilings constructed of chesnut beams and stones and floors of hand made baked clay tiles. The house consists of 2 floors decorated in a style which blends rustic charm with an artistic touch and feels both light and cosy.
On the ground floor there is a large kitchen/dining room, a lounge and a bathroom with a shower. The ground floors rooms give direct access onto the garden which provides a large seating area – here families have space to play, to eat or to relax and enjoy views of the countryside and appreciate the surrounding natural beauty.
The well equipped includes a fridge, gas hob, washing machine and dish washer. Also provided are all crockery, glasses, cutlery and all the cooking utensils needed to prepare culinary delights during your stay.
On the upper floor are 3 large bedrooms, a lounge area and a terrace with views over the garden below and the surrounding mountains. 2 of the bedrooms are furnished with a double bed and one is en suite. The other room has 2 single beds.
Casa la Era is heated by an large open fire and 2 further wood burning stoves – although Mecina Fondales can get cold in the winter there is normally no need for heating between April and October.
Both the kitchen/dining room and the lounge have doors leading directly to the garden. The garden provides two areas; adjacent to the house is a cobbled stone terrace which resembles the traditional ‘eras’ or threshing circles. It is planted with trees for shade, a flower garden and aromatic herbs around a large area for sitting and contemplating the environment. The lower part of the garden is wilder and full of fruit trees, almonds and olives. It provides a perfect blend between the managed garden and the rugged countryside.
