We are located on 3 acres surrounded by tall evergreen trees. There is parking for 2 cars and a private entrance to the house with a smart-key lock on the front door. Once inside, you'll find everything you need for a relaxing stay.

We have newly refinished hardwood floors throughout the living area and both bedrooms. All new double-paned windows bring the outdoors inside. Cellular window shades in the living room and bedrooms provide privacy. There is a flat-screen TV in the living room with cable, as well as a DVD player. WiFi is included. We have a decent movie collection, or bring your own. We also have an assortment of games and books for your use. There is a bluetooth speaker for playing your own music as well.

In addition to central heat, there is a Vermont Castings wood burning stove in the living room, along with firewood and kindling. We refill firewood once a day. If you have small children or infants, we ask that you not use the wood burning stove, as it gets very hot. There is also a wall-heater in the downstairs bedroom.

The downstairs bedroom has queen foam mattress and an en-suite half-bathroom (sink & toilet only).

The 2nd bedroom is a loft, up a flight of stairs and is quite large, looking out an entire wall of windows into the woods. There is a queen mattress with foam topper. This room has a nook for reading, and a desk. The ensuite bathroom is large and includes a bathtub and shower, sink & toilet. There is a stack washer/dryer in the corner. Laundry soap is provided.

If you have more than 4 guests, we have a Pottery Barn sleeper sofa in the living room. This has a new 5" queen foam mattress. There is a modest charge for extra laundry when you utilize the sleeper sofa with 4 guests or less ($10 per night). Prior to arrival, please let me know if you wish to use the sofa sleeper.

We also have a high chair and portable crib.

You will find a few locked cabinets, where we keep cleaning products and supplies. We do this as a safety measure since we do welcome children.

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend at The Cedar Treehouse. It was so wonderful waking up to the beautiful green trees in all views! Kim and Jim provide a beautiful, private setting. We were a couple miles from town and loved to retreat to our quiet spot. The house is warm and cozy. We played games and ate popcorn and drank champagne!! (My son fell in love with the sweet barn cat.) Highly recommended! Thank you!

Nestled in the woods of Bainbridge, the Treehouse is a wonderful refuge from the world. The bedrooms' windows look out on a forest stream. The wood burning fireplace puts off a cozy warmth -- and a great smell. And the living room couch is a wonderfully inviting place to fall into with a great book. Kim and Jim were great hosts who kept us well stocked with firewood and made sure everything was running smoothly. And their lovely guest house is just a 10 minute drive to just about everything on Bainbridge: Winslow Way, a snug village main street that effortlessly mixes the timeless (a diner from forever ago) with the timely (a hipster deli); Bloedel Reserve, with its moss gardens (!); the Grand Forest for a dog-filled hike; and the ferry, for a panoramic trip back to Seattle.

Amazing views of the woods out of the many windows and the fabulous wood burner made for a brilliant stay. Comfortable, private, and well appointed. Nice way to see the island.

This home is utterly exquisite. The natural light, nature immersion, and peaceful space provided a perfect home base for a weekend reconnecting with my best friend.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Cedar House. The place is impeccable and everything we could imagine (or not) was taken care of. We were surprised by many of the smaller details like the motion detecting night lights on the stairs! The kitchen was exactly what you'd want. Such a great sink and fridge. We made a couple excellent meals thanks to that and the Town and Country market in town. The main living area was great for relaxing both after our day trip to Olympic National Park and when we felt like just staying in. We ended up watching two movies from the collection and made a fire in the wood stove one night. I could go on and on.... Very happy to have stayed, will look here first for our next visit to Bainbridge Island.
Jeremy, thank you for your very kind review. I'm so pleased that you were comfortable. Please come back anytime.

We had a great time staying at the Cedar Tree House. Kim and Jim were wonderful hosts. The place was spacious and clean, amenities were great, they had very thoughtful and useful touches that met our needs staying there with a little child. Definitely would stay here again.
Thank you for the very kind review. We're so glad you and your family had a good time.

Kim's home in the woods was not only recently renovated into a dreamy modern minimalist treehouse, but was also impeccably clean and filled with thoughtful touches. From the bottle of prosecco that greeted us on the counter to the daily refills of firewood and kindling, we were delighted by her hospitality and each well considered detail. The home is tucked deep into the woods and yet is only a 7-minute drive from downtown (including the wonderful grocery store). We were a party of 5 women and were plenty comfortable with two exceedingly comfortable queen sized beds and a pullout couch. We spent every day exploring the island and every night eating, drinking, and playing games by the fire. Communication was fast and easy, directions on checking in and checking out were super clear, and the manual for using everything in the house was the best written I have ever encountered. I had never used a wood burning stove before but the instructions were so clearly written that I am confident I now have a new lifelong skill! Don't miss: Bloedel Reserve, Blackbird Bakery, Churchmouse, or the Harbour Public House.
Jody, I'm so glad you had a good time. Thank you for the very kind review. Please come back anytime.
