The idyllic cottage set in a bustling farm environment is newly renovated and beautifully decorated with Tasmanian antiques and artwork. The property is yours to discover, take a walk to the South Esk River and visit our cows and sheep on the way. Or learn to ride at the Pegasus riding school.
Leighton Stud bread the first draft horses in Australia to supply Sydney and Melbourne for development from the mid 1800's. Ever since, there have been horses on the property in one way.
The guest house, a converted stallion box was built in the early 1970’s when Sandhawk was brought out from the UK at the time the most expensive sire to come to Australia. Piping Lane was sired on the property and was the first Tasmanian horse to win a Melbourne Cup and only the second of two.
The guest cottage has been renovated and decorated with Tasmanian antiques and collectables for guests to enjoy.
The cosy cottage has 1 bedroom with queen bed, ensuite bathroom, full kitchen, dining area and living area, outdoor living space and amazing outlook. We welcome you to relax, unwind and explore the property and beautiful surrounds.
Full access of the cottage. Full access of the property... take a morning walk to the South Esk River, visit the Angus cows, sheep and horses on the property. Enjoy a picnic in the Leighton's gardens (the original house is dated 1840's). Book into Pegasus Riding School for a horse riding lesson, a short stroll from the cottage on the property.
