Victor Harbor is South Australia's premier holiday destination, situated only one hour south of Adelaide. "Surf at Seagull" offers the first surf beach 5 minutes east of Victor. If "The Dump" isn't working, surfers can drive 10 minutes east to Middleton for a certain wave, or a little further to Goolwa. Four wheel drive enthusiasts can drive on the beach at Goolwa and trek to the Murray Mouth for fishing. Serious surfers can drive for 20 minutes west to Waitpainga or Parsons. Five excellent public golf courses are within 30 minutes drive, with McCracken Country Club within walking distance. The McLaren Vale wine region is within 30 minutes north. Port Elliot lies 30 minutes walk to the east, with coffee shops and a village atmosphere.
