The entire 1st floor of our home is available as this private rental (roughly 1,000 sq ft). We have converted the home into a complete duplex including a separate entrance, so our renters have total privacy. Our home and all of the neighboring homes were part of a summer camp 40+ years ago. This area of Tahoe is extremely charming, and very peaceful. Our home is a duplex, my husband and I live upstairs with a separate entrance. Although, we are quiet you will be able to hear us (and our dogs Pickles and Popcorn) walking around from time to time.
The space has been recently remodeled including a brand new kitchen with granite counter tops, hardwood floors, and all new appliances. There is a full bathroom attached to the bedroom that has a claw foot tub base shower. There is another bathroom as well with a massive claw foot soaking tub. The fireplace is a gas stove.
Our guests have access to the 1st floor of the residence. Guests may also use the fenced backyard space (seasonal use).
My husband and I live in the main house and are available to answer any and all questions. Although we prefer our privacy and respect yours, please let us know if you need anything to make your stay more enjoyable.
There is a brand new coffee maker, coffee grinder, full spice rack, many cooking utensils, pots and pans, etc....everything you need to cook a great meal.
****If traveling during a snow storm we highly recommend that our guests drive a 4wd vehicle or use their chains as the side streets to get to our home are sometimes overlooked until the evenings. Please keep in mind that we will not refund a trip due to poor weather conditions, unless the main highways/interstates are closed for more than 5 hours preventing guests from traveling.
Please keep in mind that we live on the property and although we prefer our privacy, we will know if house rules are being broken.
Guest(s) will be held responsible to pay for the replacement of any stained linens including bedding, towels, and rugs if the stain cannot be removed. Guest(s) will also be held responsible to pay for the replacement of any broken dishes. If there is damage to the property or its contents within, the Guest(s) will be notified and the amount needed will be requested through Airbnb. If damages exceed the deposit amount, the Guest(s) will still be financially responsible for all additional damage done to the property. Guest(s) will be responsible for paying for any carpet/rug stains should they need to be professionally cleaned.
Accommodates 2 adults max. If you are traveling with a child we allow them to be a 3rd/4th in the space for an extra charge. An air mattress and additional bedding will be provided.
Smoking (of any kind) including hookah and/or marijuana will not be tolerated in the space. Smoking on the premises is a material breach of this agreement and will result in a forfeit of Guest(s) deposit plus any fees to clean, disinfect and bomb the property. If it is found that you are smoking in the rental unit Guest(s) must immediately vacate and pay any/all damages upon demand.
No more than one car allowed on the property for this listing. There is one designated parking spot for main house Guest(s). Please only park there (to the left of the bear box on the right side of the property).
Please be aware that during certain times of the year walking to and from Guest(s) vehicle could be icy and to use extreme caution. A shovel and ice melt salt is provided to Guest(s) in the event of freezing rain or snow fall during Guest(s) stay. It is the Guest(s) responsibility to keep the entrance of rental unit clear of snow and ice to the best of their ability during their stay. If a Guest(s) is physically unable to remove snow/ice from entrance they must contact the owner for assistance. In the event of heavy snowfall the owner will help remove snow from the entrance at their convenience.
Because we live in the woods, there are black bears that pass through our neighborhood. To prevent them from breaking into Guest(s) vehicle, please do not leave any food in your car or anywhere outside. Even a granola bar can be enough to entice a bear to break into a vehicle. Guest(s) must keep car windows rolled up, and doors locked. Any trash that Guest(s) would like to discard should be placed in the “bear box” located at the corner of the property near the road. We are not responsible for any damage that a bear may cause to our Guest(s) or their belongings.
Please Remove shoes when entering the home. Do not wear your shoes throughout the home.
Please feel free to use the fenced backyard. Keep in mind it is shared space for tenants of the Tranquil Rental as well as the owners. If you use the space please clean up after yourself, and put chairs back where you found them. Sound travels exceptionally well in our neighborhood so please keep noise to a minimum after 9pm if outdoors.
Due to fire danger, as well as permitting for open fire guest(s) are absolutely not allowed to start a fire in the fire pit.
Use caution when entering and exiting the clawfoot tub(s). We have provided a step stool should any guest need assistance getting in our out.
Guest(s) agree to hold Owner harmless from any and all claims for damages or injuries occurring on the premises or any part thereof, or in common areas thereof, and to indemnify Owner for any and all losses sustained as a result of any such claims, including attorney’s fees and expenses, unless such damage is the result of actual negligence or unlawful act of Owner.
Our names are Mark and Amy and we live on the beautiful West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Together we run a business here on the West Shore and we have two rescue dogs named Pickles and Popcorn, and two rescue cats named Pancakes and Waffles. Mark and I both grew up in Montana and after graduating from Montana State University in 2013, we got married and moved to Lake Tahoe!
