My classic home is close to Nature, Skiing, Hiking, Swimming, Kayaking, Stockade, Bard, Vassar, Night life, Restaurants, Woodstock, UPAC and all the mid hudson valley has to offer.
You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood -- lovely and quiet, the house clean and bright and you'll be walking or biking distance to the great bars, restaurants and nightlife of the Stockade. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
This house has 16+ windows -- lots of light and a backyard for fur babies to stretch their legs. Cozy, simple, classic style home -- with enough space for you to comfortably relax. Although the house is probably around 100 years old, it was renovated a couple of years ago so much of what is inside is new. The kitchen is fully stocked, including a portable dishwasher. I will provide clean towels, toiletries, a little welcome surprise just for you!
Heads up if you're a tall person -- the shower head is a little low! I'll be installing a hand shower soon and will update the listing when I do :)
In the Summer, you'll have access to the the Weber grill and hammock in the shady back yard.
You will have run of the house with the exception of a few owners closets and cabinets.
It will be my pleasure to host you as much or as little as you like -- I love people and good conversation. At the minimum, I will be nearby and available to help with any questions or issues.
After 30+ years living in the hustle and bustle of New York City, I really do find this little urban cabin to be the perfect compromise between country living and urban life. If you're a foodie (like I am!), the proximity to amazing farm to table, hearty and delicious food will be a big bonus.
Thanks to many of the Brooklyn creatives migration, there's so much to do in our little town these days. Or, you can do nothing at all. Despite the somewhat urban location, my little cottage is a quiet and cozy retreat -- perfect for getting through a great book, sleeping in or enjoying a home cooked meal and a candle lit conversation with your traveling companions.
This is my first home and when you aren't here -- I am! Please take care of the house as you would your own home
- Feel free to smoke outside of the house on the porch.
- The only bathroom is upstairs and not wheelchair accessible.
- The second bedroom downstairs also has the washer/dryer and treadmill.
- The small television downstairs has Roku only; the large television in the master bedroom upstair has apple tv and cable access.
- There is a small office on the second floor that can also be used as an additional bedroom with a full sized air mattress -- if you intend to use the office as a bedroom please let me know so that I can do the conversion for you.
Left the frenetic energy of my hometown(NYC) and recently bought a modest house in the burgeoning Uptown Kingston neighborhood. I want you to fall in love with Kingston and the Hudson Valley just as I have -- I'll make it mission to see that you do :)
