Travel restrictions
Due to COVID-19 there are lockdowns in place across the UK and travel is not permitted other than in limited circumstances until at least April. Failure to follow the law is a criminal offence.
This cottage, equipped and furnished with care, was converted from the old milking barn and designed to be accessible to everybody, including those with wheelchairs. Children are most welcome. A cot and high chair are available and included in the price. We have a Swedish hot-tub and barrel sauna in the farmhouse gardens which can be booked and hired by guests for a unique elemental experience.

It sleeps six people in three bedrooms and has two bathrooms. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms with a small en-suite bathroom between them. The third bedroom nestles up in the rafters, up a tiny staircase. The large wheelchair accessible bathroom is on the ground floor, it has a bath and a wheel-in, flat floor shower. There is a well equipped kitchen and large sitting room with dining area and whose large patio window looks due south over a little courtyard, the walled pond (behind a gate) and the rolling farm land. There is a log burner and a DVD player for cosy evenings in.

Swallows skimming about, the scent of homemade organic bread and a selection of local and homemade goodies are the things that may greet you when you arrive at our organic farm in the Peak District National Park.
Our home is a long traditional farmhouse on an organic farm in the beautiful Peak District National Park. Built from local limestone the farmhouse has been added to over the centuries since the 1500's. We run our business in the most environmentally friendly way we can without compromising on comfort for our guests. In 2018 we won gold for Sustainability in the Enjoy Staffs Tourism Awards!
We have a Swedish hot-tub and barrel sauna in the farmhouse gardens which can be booked and hired by guests for a unique elemental experience (Please reserve this when you book your accommodation as it is very popular - it does cost extra).

Staying here gives you access to the cottage, its own patio and the farmhouse garden too. You can hire our hot tub or sauna for cosy evenings basking in nature underneath the stars. You are able to walk around the farm, follow the farm trail and find where the pre-Roman settlement is hidden. Access footpaths that take you through the fields and down into the beautiful valleys of Dovedale and the Manifold.

Between March & October Changeover days are Mondays & Fridays.
3 night stay at the weekends (Friday to Monday)
4 night stay during the week (Monday to Friday)
The farm has a Swedish Style wood burning Hot Tub, heated romantic Cave and Sauna are also available to hire at extra cost, located outside in a private secluded part of the farm's gardens, if booked you get exclusive use all evening (Please check availability before booking - make sure you reserve the hot tub when you book your accommodation as it is very popular).
The Simple Hot tub Elemental Experience:
An afternoon (4hrs) or evening (4hrs finishing by 11pm)
Hot tub seats up to 6 people, min age 14
We light the cave stove, the hot tub and heat the water, we supply a jug of fresh water
You bring your own towels, drinks.
£100 for 2 people plus £5 per extra person.
The Luxury Hot tub Elemental Experience:
Sitting by the stove in Beechenhill's cave
An afternoon (4hrs) or evening (4hrs finishing by 11pm)
Hot tub seats up to 6 people, min age 14
We light the cave stove, the tub and heat the water, we supply a jug of fresh water
We supply towels and fluffy white dressing gowns
We supply refreshments; usually cava and chocolates or hot chocolate and cakes, then at Christmas and New Year mulled wine and home made mince pies.
£125 for 2 people plus £10 per extra person.
Simple Sauna: Use of the heated sauna, outdoor shower and sauna corner for a session (a morning, afternoon or evening) £40
Luxury Sauna: Use of the heated sauna, outdoor shower and sauna corner with fireplace lit, marshmallows for toasting and lovely thick cotton dressing gowns for a session, (a morning, afternoon or evening) prices start at £60 for 2 people
We have both an Electric Vehicle charging point on site and a Tesla charging point.

The farm is set in the most stunning scenery and looks over the valleys of the Peak District. The cottage is one of three on the farm, but none are overlooked. The farm is secluded and quiet.
The village of Ilam is picturesque with beautiful chocolate box Swiss style houses and past the Anglo Saxon church there is Ilam Park, a National Trust property with a lovely tearoom.
Our nearest towns are Ashbourne and Leek, both market towns with quirky shops and boutiques alongside the usual shops and supermarkets. There is a host of interesting villages such as Tissington with the best traditional sweet shop ever or Hartington with a delicious farm shop cafe and legendary cheese shop.
Further afield there is Bakewell, Buxton, Tideswell and Eyam. We are spoiled for choice with interesting places to visit: Chatsworth; Haddon Hall; Sudbury Hall; Go Ape; Alton Towers; Peak Wildlife Park; Coombs Valley Nature Reserve; Crich Tramway Museum or The Heights of Abraham are just a few. We are really lucky that we have some brilliant pubs and restaurants in the area for a great selection of real ale or really delicious food.
