South End Marble is perfectly situated in Burlington Vermont's bursting South End Arts District. Close to the lake, parks, beaches, restaurants, downtown, the Burlington Boat House, and our famous Lakefront Bikepath. All the best of Burlington a quick walk or bike ride away.
The 2nd floor apartment is private and provides offstreet parking, washer/dryer access, the use of four 'in town funky bikes', and we happily welcome your pets! Just let us know they'll be coming along with you.
Like many of the homes built in this part of the South End, ours is one of the original “workers” houses from Pine Street's industrial era built in the late 1800’s. It’s simple yet charming. In addition to comfortable furniture and sweet vintage items here and there, the living area boasts a late a 1940s vintage linoleum floor we discovered hiding under a nasty old carpet while renovating. To our surprise it is in great condition!
One of your hosts, Manny, lives in the downstairs apartment. You'll be staying in the upstairs apartment which has it's own private entrance and side porch. There are three main rooms: a bedroom at the top of the stairs, a kitchen, full bath off of the kitchen and a living/dining room area with a very comfortable mattress on the futon couch that opens to a full size bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, toaster, microwave, stove, oven, fridge and cooking gear. The laundry room is available for your use and is external to both apartments and accessible via the back yard. Let my know if you would like to access to it and I will make the laundry room available to you! Detergent is provided.
We have 4 bikes available for your use and they are located in the garage with bike lock information in the apartment entry at the top of the stairs. Help yourself! They are great for getting around town but are a bit funky so...best not to plan a long bike trip!
The entrance to your 2nd floor apartment is private and at the top of the stairs you'll see we have some rain gear available for you just in case as well as a few other handy items. As mentioned, your apartment key will unlock the laundry room should you need it. You are welcome to enjoy the back yard which you will share with Manny and the side porch at your entrance is all yours! The garage is where you will find the bikes and lawn furniture as well as the hammock if the weather has been at all threatening. Otherwise I will have the hammock up and you're welcome to grab additional chairs from the garage if you'd like.
Manny lives in the downstairs apartment and unless she indicates otherwise, she will be available via text, phone or email at any time. We respect your privacy! If I happen to see you as you arrive or anytime during your stay I would love to greet you and say hello. But rest assured, I will leave you to your vacation!
We will provide you with local maps and information about the area in addition to highlighting for you some of our favorite restaurants, local spots of interest and outdoor adventure ideas. You are welcome to call or text if you have any questions at all, we are happy to help!
Check out our "house rules" for more details on minimum stays, pets, etc.
- MINIMUM STAY. Although we have a two-night minimum, we often can be flexible especially during the off-season. If you are interested in a one-night stay, please message us so that we can check our schedule and we'll let you know if we can accommodate it.
- PET GUESTS. If you are allergic to dog fur or dander please be aware that this is a dog-friendly dwelling. We love dogs! We do ask that if your dog is apt to be barky or destructive if left alone in the apartment, it is best you leave him/her home this trip. If a dog will be joining you, please be aware that ours is a people-friendly dwelling and do clean up after your pup if he/she has left any surprises in the fenced in back yard.
- CHECK-IN. You may check in anytime after 3pm and checkout is 11am. If you need some flexibility on either end of the stay, let us know and we might be able to accommodate you.
Long-time pals Amey and Manny co-own this old house in the South End. Manny lives in the apartment downstairs and both she and Amey are available via cell. Amey is a local artist and graphic designer whose design studio is just around the corner on Howard Street and Manny is a local psychologist. We're gals who appreciate all things vintage as you'll see by the furniture and artwork in the apartment. We love Burlington and we especially love the South End Arts District, a Burlington treasure. We look forward to sharing our BNB!
