Our home is a well-appointed four-bedroom, two bath, air-conditioned and heated vacation cottage situated on over an acre of very well landscaped property, offering stunning views of Sam’s Creek and Mecox Bay. Because the house is elevated (on stilts; all on the second floor), you will enjoy amazing views while relaxing outside on the fully equipped deck or inside thanks to magnificent floor to ceiling windows.

The house is a Bauhaus design; designed by the late Peter Blake.

The spacious lawn allows ample room for all sorts of outdoor activities or take the canoe out for a cruise on Mecox Bay. The house is a five-minute walk to the ocean and is an ideal getaway providing many amenities of home in a charming and relaxing atmosphere.

The house is a beach cottage not a mansion. Please inquire before booking if you have any questions about what this or any other description means.

We often stock the fridge with basic foods bread, butter, eggs and more. Our pantry is often stocked with spices, coffee, tea, olive oil and more. You are welcome to use any of these items.

There are plenty of clean sheets, towels and more.

We provide a beautiful customized canvas tote for you to use during your stay and to take home.

We reserve the right to require greater than a 14 night (or more) minimum stay and to charge higher rates for peak periods (e.g. Memorial Day week, Labor Day week etc.). Airbnb is unable to provide all iterations of pricing in its portal. For this reason, Airbnb published pricing may be inaccurate for this reason. Please inquire as the actual rate may be higher or may be lower than what the system presents to you.

I ask that the booking guest provide, to the host, his/her full name, home address, name of workplace, work and mobile phone numbers and email address at the time of booking. The booking guest must also provide other guest names, email addresses and mobile and web address for the workplace of the guests to the host. We reserve the right to collect additional pertinent information as well as check references, view and copy ID (scan or photo) for all guests.

Guest(s) are responsible to secure any local authorizations/permits, if any, necessary to book or stay at the premises. Guests waive their right, if any, for a refund for the failure of the host or the guest(s) to secure any authorizations/permits to book or stay at the premises.

If you book this listing, then cancel your reservation and seek to obtain a partial or full refund under the "extraordinary circumstance" provisions of the AirBnb terms and conditions, you may only seek this refund (reimbursement) from "trip insurance" that you purchased. You may not seek nor receive a refund from AirBnb (or the host) under the "extraordinary circumstance" provision in the AirBnb terms. You may only cancel subject to the standard terms of the AirBnb cancellation policy (Flexible, Moderate, Strict, etc.). Therefore, please timely secure and bind Trip Insurance (I have had good luck with Travelex) if you would like to be covered for unplanned trip interruption and be reimbursed for a covered (AirBnb terminology) "extraordinary circumstance" cancellation.

Please note that this house is a cottage abutting a bay (with a dock). It is very close to the beach and ocean. The house, a Bauhaus design, was built in the late 50's. You may experience bugs inside the house due to imperfect door closing, other imperfections, failure to close the screen doors properly or for other reasons. There are screens on all windows and sliding doors. There are spider webs outside the home. We frequently clear the webs, but they are rebuilt quickly. So please expect cob webs outside and even occasionally inside (they are sneaky little buggers).

Guest acknowledges the presence of outward facing surveillance cameras. There is a security and surveillance system on premise to include three outward facing security video cameras. The cameras must remain connected, powered and in use during your entire stay. Any tampering with or disconnecting the cameras will result in $2,500 charge payable by the guests via Airbnb charge to your deposit and or your credit card.

Electricity and refuse removal costs for your entire stay will be chargeable to the guest as an additional charge for all bookings greater than 14 days (additional charge to guest). Weekly housekeeping (to be provided by the host's housekeeper) is required for all bookings greater than 14 days and must be paid by the guest (additional charge to guest).

Showing the house to potential future renters or buyers:
You permit and agree that the house and or property may be shown to visitors and thereby permit the house and property to be shown to these visitors. The Host will always provide advance notice.

If you are not comfortable with the terms and conditions outlined in this listing, please do not book my home for your stay. If you do book my home for your stay, by doing so, you not only agree to the terms and conditions that Airbnb requires of us (Guest and Host) but you, additionally, agree to the terms and conditions of this listing (see above and below).

The property sits a very close 5 minute walk to the beach and ocean with amazing views and privacy.

The house is also near many stores, restaurants, and amenities, a 10 minute drive.

If you remain 30 minutes or more past the published (11 AM) checkout time, unless otherwise agreed to, IN ADVANCE and IN WRITING, you will be obligated to pay (for each 24 hour period or portion thereof) for one additional night at TWICE the daily average rate for your stay originally paid by you to cover the inconvenience suffered by the Host, plus all applicable Guest Fees, Taxes, and any legal expenses incurred by the Host to make you leave (collectively, "Overstay Fees"). Please make arrangements, in writing, in advance if you need to check out later.

If you Overstay at my cottage, you authorize Airbnb (via Airbnb Payments) to charge your method of payment to collect Overstay Fees. A Security Deposit may be applied to any Overstay Fees due for a Guest’s Overstay.

It is very problematic if you leave later than scheduled!
