Gardener's Cottage in downtown Little Rock has a tree-top view overlooking our secluded garden.
The room was quaint in an old Victorian home downtown. The robes, fireplace, tub and king size bed were nice. Love that my dogs were able to join me with no questions. It was super clean and cozy. For the price I would recommend 4 new fluffy bed pillows, there were 3 flat old on…
Theresa was a charming guest who made a same day reservation. She was offered breakfast but she had numerous food issues. I directed her to a wonderful market less than 10 minutes from the cottage so I'm not certain why she said there was no response to that request. We have Keurig Coffee Service in all of our cottages with a broad selection of Keurig-offered coffees. I'm not sure how we can get any better in that area and the creamer we place in our cottages are Land O'Lakes Mini Moos. Most of our guests love them. Her rate was $125 for a private cottage that has a living room with fireplace, dining area, kitchenette, king bedroom, and bath with double Spa tub, shower, robes and bath amenities. We use standard cleaning materials ... Windex, Murphy's Oil for our hardwood floors, Tilex to control shower mold and 409. I have never experienced any of these products leaving a strong residual scent. We do use a plug in air freshener because we are totally Pet Friendly but the scent is very mild and simple to unplug. The water in Little Rock is excellent and there is absolutely no need for a water filter. I don't think in 17 years of hosting I've this request before. Our cottages are located in the Governor's Mansion Historic neighborhood which is located in the heart of urban Little Rock. There is nothing "sketchy" about the neighborhood other than it is urban and historic ... we aren't suburban and we aren't part of the cluster branded hotels in the River Market District. I understand that urban, historic lodging is not for everyone but that certainly does not translate to unsafe or sketchy ... its iconic and unique.
I am a former Dallas advertising executive who moved home, returning to my roots in Little Rock's vibrant downtown historic district where I grew up. After 30 years of demanding clients, constant travel, late hours and far too much time away from home, I now stay put and let love…
