PorchDays Lake house is PERFECT! The House & surroundings: better than described. Fully stocked with essentials you didn't know you needed or definitely forgotten! It's beautifully presented, extremely well thought out, loads to do to cater to all ages and interests. We were a family of 11 (5 adults aged between 81-40 and 6 children aged between 12 - 3 yrs old). My whole family had a great time on the lake, even the 81 yr old went kayaking. The Host: Jill was an excellent host. Thoughtful and timely communication before and during our stay. Tip: 1) Do not do a food/necessities shop until you've been to the house! 2) If you're trip involves going to other places, if you can end here, you won't be disappointed. We all definitely recommend this lake house.

Beautiful home with excellent views of the lake and valley--it was especially lovely as the leaves were turning. Also, the place has dark skies for star-gazing on a clear night. All rooms were clean and as-presented in the photos and description. Jeff sent some very helpful info and photos to help us drive in to the house--especially helpful since the last ~1 mile is on a private, relatively narrow road. Also, my Android Maps app on my phone was clearly sending me to the wrong location (i.e., not to the lake), so we relied on my spouse's I-Phone--which brought us right in. (Interestingly, Google Maps on my laptop had showed the correct location, but Google navigation on my phone was pointing elsewhere.) Recommend you pre-check your nav feature in advance of your arrival. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a serene location with great views and lake access.

We enjoyed our stay in this spacious home on Claytor Lake! It was very clean, and well stocked. We were just a family of 5 that weekend and didn’t even use the basement - this home would be ideal for a couple of families with all the space it has. I would love to go back in the summer to use all outdoor amenities the house had to offer.

This was a perfect getaway home for two Hokie families to spend a long weekend! The use of the kayaks was great as we got to really enjoy the lake. We loved making s'mores by the bonfire on the lake, too. It is very peaceful and serene. Blue Ridge was very responsive with the majority of our questions although they weren't able to resolve the temperature issue with the hot tub that we reported on the first day. Also, don't forget anything from the food store on your way to the Lodge as it quite a haul to get to the nearest supermarket or restaurant! Overall, this was a great place and plenty of space for all to unwind.

Alicia was a proactive and responsive host to a great home that afforded a very restful stay. Amenities were the best we’ve ever experienced at an Air B&B. Coffee, snacks, toiletries, plentiful supplies and quality towels and linens added to the experience. The welcome gifts (a strudel from a local bakery and bottle of wine) were enjoyed and were a classy touch. We booked the home to relax with family over Easter. The home exceed all expectations. Highly recommend this home and host.

Debby and Dan were wonderful. In all of my interactions with them they were kind, friendly and helpful. Although the description and photos are accurate, I didn't reread it before I went so I forgot that this was a basement. the space is a little dark for me. I gave a great review because the space was accurately described, the hosts were amazing, the space was clean and proved everything I needed, and the location is spot on. also, the Wi-Fi and TV options were great!

We had a fun time at Chris’ lake house. It was very clean, quiet, and had all the amenities as described. Hot tub (with its private surround) was enjoyable during the winter temps. Ample kitchen supplies since there aren’t any restaurants around. Make sure to get groceries beforehand!

Thank-you Frank for sharing your New River get away house with us. We loved being able to drive back and forth to our nearby home in order to care for our other fur kiddos. I appreciate you being flexible to allowing us to bring Buddy last minute too. We didn't mind the train noise at all. Beautiful view on the front porch of the river, we really enjoyed how peaceful the place is.

We stayed here at the Hokie Home a second time and loved it even more than the first! It is located on a very peaceful section of the lake and we spent many delightful hours lounging on the top story of the dock. We also enjoyed eating on the decks and are grateful to have found a place that is dog friendly and has room for the whole family.

This historic home was just lovely and decorated so beautifully. It was like stepping back in time. The trails and river were great and a bonus was the beginner mountain bike trails just a half mile down the trail.

Great place to get away from everything and enjoy nature. Lots of birds. The stars are amazing.

Had a great time at the house. The owners have truly thought of everything that might make your stay more enjoyable: board games, kayaks, fishing rods, tons of outdoor seating, grills, you name it. Would definitely stay again when visiting the area.

We wanted a relaxing weekend getaway to enjoy some family time and R&R. The remoteness of the cabin was perfect for that. Although we recommend arriving in the daytime, it was dark when we got there and that single lane road going in was a tad scary. Lol The hosts were very friendly and responsive. The amenities were spot on. There was plenty of room to accommodate our crew (2 adults, 3 teenagers and a dog). The hot tub was great and we enjoyed sitting around the table playing games and sharing laughs. Definitely a nice relaxing weekend spent making memories!

We decided to stay here for my daughter’s second birthday. We picked this spot for all of the amenities the state park across the street offers, but I didn’t do enough research and none of the attractions were open for the season. That being said, we still had an amazing time and it was so nice to be able to use the kayaks that were at the cabin. We went kayaking at Bluestone Lake and the people who run the marina were nice. The cabin was cozy. My daughter loved the bear theme. The WiFi worked really well and we were able to access our favorite streaming service. The hot tub was also a huge plus after a long day of kayaking. The neighbors seemed friendly and all of us felt very safe.

A home before our home! We stayed for a little over a month. It’s a beautiful location with trails, beautiful wildlife, a pond and creek that was a fan favorite, and a fenced in yard to let the kiddo and dogs run and rove. It had everything you would need and is conveniently in between Floyd and Hillsville AND the Blue Ridge Parkway! Mr. Bailey was friendly, informative, and his dog Rosie is a sweetheart!

These folks run a top-tier stay in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mts. My family enjoyed the getaway, and we soaked up all of the air and sun that we could! Simply put, we are already planning our return next spring. Thank you so much!

We were so pleased to last minute be able to stay here! The hosts were so helpful and very friendly. After enduring two significant hurricanes back to back it was the perfect place to unwind and find mental peace again! This was the cleanest Airbnb we have ever stayed at and definitely would love to return again in the future. Very much recommended thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin!
