LANGKAWET THE RETREAT. Far From The Madding Crowd

We had an amazing time at Victor's place. The place is better than what you see in pictures. The village is a bit untouched, which we quite enjoyed. The night sky is beautiful as a result of low light pollution. The heaters under the mattressare a delight. Victor as a host was both friendly with his advices and professional with his services. The caretaker Wansuk was also very agile, always up to the task and crisp with his communication. He helped us set up a bonfire on our last night. I would highly recommend Victor's place.

This is a beautiful tranquil place to stay overlooking the monastery and hills. There are fabulous views of the Kanchenjunga range if it is clear! Jigmee and his family are friendly and kind people who looked after us very well. Spike the Great Dane is a lovely and gentle dog living there. We had excellent home cooked fresh food too. We would recommend this homestay for a relaxing time , there are monasteries and the Buddha Park a drive away if you want to travel a bit. We would love to return here again.

This place is a paradise in Bengal. The greenery, rooms, food is all good. We stayed here for a night but it’s definitely worth spending more time here. Need to get down few flights of stairs from the main road to get to the place. Staff are attentive and helpful. We had a lovely stay here

Samaghang Cottage (Home in the Hills) (Homestay)

We had a fantastic stay at Samaghang Cottage. Firstly, the views of Pandim mountain and the surrounding range are outstanding - probably the best that we saw during our stay in Sikkim. The property is located on the outer edge of the village of Kewzing - it's a very serene location and yet one can easily walk into the main bazaar area within 10 minutes. For those who are interested in longer walking trails, there are a number of routes - including walks to nearby monasteries which again offer fantastic views. The villagers were very friendly and helped us with directions and information. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Because we were travelling in the month of January it was quite cold from the evening through to the morning - but adequate blankets were provided. In the room you have a kettle and hot water in the bathrooms. Biggest thanks go to Amit and Srimanta who went above and beyond to share conversations and local information with us. We really appreciated their efforts!!!

Really quiet and private place with an facilities that one would need Damchoe was very helpful - felt quite at home with her. she took time off to explain the recipes of the tasty dishes she made us for dinner, gardening tips... was only there for a night, wished I had stayed for longer.

Ein sehr freundliches Haus. Vanessa ist über alle Maßen hilfsbereit und engagiert. Sie hat uns toll unterstützt. Es gibt ein gutes und vielseitiges Frühstück und auch sonst guten Service. Leider haben wir wolkenverhangene Tage erwischt, aber die Lage der Unterkunft ist bei klarer Sicht sicher ein Traum. Es war sehr schön, abends auf dem Balkon zu sitzen. Der Garten ist hübsch und liebevoll gestaltet. Wir können die Unterkunft empfehlen!

Great place to stay and Ramesh who is the manager is very caring and humble. He helped us with everything and also a great cook. If you stay here you have to order the in house food. Amazing taste that you can feel in every bite of it.

The place is very nice with beautiful view. We thought it would be a very cold place but apparently not. Our 9 months old boy enjoyed the place a lot, seeing greens and having fresh air on morning walk, swam in the river with cool water, etc. The host, Anuj and Deepika (Pabitra's family), were very helpful and responsive to our concerns and their daughter was very fun when play with our baby, felt like family.

Awsome way to see a little bit of the Sumdarban. We loved to just paddle of alone into the canals from the cabin. The boat we borrowed was a bit large, so it was a bit of a stuggle for me to handle it alone against the tidal current. So either go inn to the Sundarban with the rising tide, and go back with the eb. Or try to borrow a smaller boat (or just bring a guide, to help you paddle, if you do not feel like having an actuall adventure...) Friendly staf, friendly neighbours and a beautifull area both into the Sundarban and on the village side.

The location is in the middle of nature surrounded by a lot off tall trees and mountains. Binay is very helpful and friendly host. All the staffs are very well behaved. The property is well maintained and has beautiful garden. The only suggestion is don’t drive by your own car unless you are expert of driving to hills as the last few kms of the stretch is difficult to drive. Better park your vehicle at the top and ask Binay to arrange for cab. Overall the stay was very pleasant.
