June 2017 added second Living Space area with view of adjacent farm and wood, Lobby area with Laundry facilities and a second bathroom. The West Wing is a cosy apartment that sleeps max 3. One double bed and 1 small single in a shared room. Situated directly on the Royal Canal greenway, it is the perfect location for keen walkers or cyclists who want a quiet place to stay. There is a pub across from the house, just a short walk home! The Hill of Down is a handy spot for touring the Boyne Valley and is 20 minutes from Trim, famous for its beautiful castle. It is also 20 minutes from Mullingar in County Westmeath.

Peacock House

The Peacock House is located within the Lismore Demesne. It was once the dairy and workers cottage. From the 1980s onwards it was used to house peacocks, giving the cottage its name. After being left dormant for 80 years it was lovingly restored three years ago. These days it is a bright and cozy cottage offering tranquil views of mature trees and park land. There is private access to forest walks along the Doney Stream just outside the doorstep.

It is unusual in that it is home to a holy well and one of Ireland's only warm springs, St. Gorman's Well, which flows with warm water during the winter.
