Great updated home, close to town and super quiet. Kitchen is fantastic. There was no shower soap or shampoo in the bathroom and the living room couch is incredibly uncomfortable. But overall a great place and a great value.

The house was beautiful! Definitely need 4x4 to get back there though! Even with AWD we slid down the last hill before the house because of the snow/ice mixture. We did finally make it and had a wonderful weekend with friends! Beautiful view of the sunrise over the lake and to look out all day at the snow! Would love to make time to come back in the summer months!

Spacious, peaceful setting for a family gathering. Clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. Close to Old Man’s Cave and the wonderful beauty of the State Park. We would enjoy returning to this property again.

We had a great stay! The home is spotless and very comfortable and I don't think we've ever had such a warm, kind, accommodating host! The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom updated and perfect, and kitchen had everything we needed. Only about 15-20 minute drive to Hocking Hills State Park. Tug allowed a late check in and relaxed check put, which we really appreciated! We will stay here again & recommend to others!

Stayed here two years in a row for OU mom’s weekend! Perfect space for kids to hang in basement, while moms can sleep in bedrooms. Outdoor space looks so inviting, but it’s been too cold for us to enjoy it. If you’re looking for a place to host your daughter & her friends- this is it!! It’s not on campus, but that’s also what our girls wanted- to get away! Just a short drive to campus (15 min) though if needed!

Brookside cottage was a magical experience in terms of its location. The creek the water running the woods. It’s just spectacular. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was clean. You had everything that you needed. Location was quite peaceful. It was everything that we wanted. I spent a mom’s weekend there with my daughter from Ohio University, and we also enjoyed the hot tub despite the rain.

Our trip started off with a small hiccup but Holly was awesome and made it right. The house was wonderful it is one of the best rentals we have had. The kitchen was is one of the best equipped we have ever stayed at. The knives were all sharp, there are ample amount of pots and pans for anything you want to cook. The loft bedroom had one of the most comfortable mattresses we have ever had at a rental. The furniture is very nice,great for relaxing and listening to some really great records. We definitely made use of the whirlpool tub and the shower. The bathroom was thoughtfully put together. I think the only downside to our stay was the super bright full moon. Lol. It made stargazing difficult. Sitting outside at night with the tree frogs singing was so peaceful and relaxing! We can't wait to be able to come back again and hopefully be able to try out the hot tub and do some stargazing! Holly and Michael know how to make you feel like you are in a home away from home.

We had a great time at the house. It was very modern and well equipped. We enjoyed the house, hot tub, and fire pit. We would definately be willing to come back again.

What a wonderful retreat! I stayed by myself as a little momma get away and it was perfect. The Zucchini bread is as good as everyone says! The hot tub was wonderful! The hosts were extremely responsive whenever I needed anything and really helpful! There are even games and toys for kids/toddlers if that is what you’re doing. I of course was vacationing FROM the kids toys lol but I love that if we go back there are things for the kids. Be advised that this is a basement apartment so you’ll hear footsteps and sometimes muffled voices just like you would in any house. It didnt bother me at all! The views are spectacular and the property is just so peaceful. 10/10 would recommend for sure!!

Lovely place to stay; will be coming again. Clean, amenities were lovely, furniture design was aesthetically pleasing. Had a lovely time and Lancaster OH is a lovely town to tour!

Perfect spot for Mom’s weekend with my daughter! Clean, great space for me, my daughter and her friend! Shower has amazing water pressure, close to the freeway, 45mins from OU and close to Lancaster for food & stores.

My husband and I stayed at Idyll Reserve 5 (The North) for two nights in January and had a fabulous stay! 🌲❄️ The cabin was thoughtfully designed, tastefully decorated, and very spacious for the two of us (& could accommodate a small family easily). It had all the amenities you’d need for a cozy stay — spacious, fully-stocked kitchen (with coffee & espresso maker! ☕️), comfy couch, living room with large windows & beautiful views of the surrounding woods, walk-in double shower & soaking tub, and our personal favorites — the outdoor hot tub and sauna! Laura was extremely responsive and communication regarding check-in was the best I’ve had with an Airbnb host. We could have easily stayed several more days. Hocking Hills State Park is just a ~10 minute drive away (we did some gorgeous hiking to Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, and Cedar Falls all within a half day). We’re already planning our next trip back with our kids! 🥰

This was a very clean, cozy, and quiet place to stay when we visited Hocking Hills! The inside was newly done with cute decorations. The outdoor area is a nice place to hang out, and we caught and released many fish in the pond. A great choice and value for our getaway!

Fantastic getaway tucked away atop a countryside hill. Surrounded by trees and excellent parks nearby. Pool is excellent, fireplaces stocked full of wood, and wall to wall great ambience for a private family retreat.

Our stay at Shu’s place exceeded my expectations. We have a family of 7 with a Goldendoodle. Sometimes it is hard to please the entire group when booking. The house was spotless inside with great appliances. We were able to move flawlessly from inside modern features (pool table, movie room, air hockey, multiple TV’s, gaming systems, board games) directly outside to a feeling of solitude. Beautiful lake views sitting in the hot tub, kids making smores at the camp fire, and some family members fishing from the dock at the same time. We went to visit my daughter at Ohio University and to see Hocking Hills. It was the perfect location between the two. Easy 5 min trips to Walmart for anything forgotten. Bait shop 2 min away from the property. A cool coffee shop out of an airstream 2 min away. It was special to feel so alone in nature but be so close to anything that we needed. To top it all off, schedules changed and Shu was able to provide us with a late checkout. GREAT LAUNDRY as well!

We came for a relaxing week and that’s exactly what we got! Very private and just so fun to be at especially with kids. We were beyond grateful to bring pets as well.

Great location - the view of the lake was spectacular. We enjoyed the fire pit, the hot tub and the accommodations. Perfect girls' getaway!

We absolutely loved our stay, the place was beautiful and has all the amenities to just stay in and enjoy! Plus, the pizza place recommended does delivery! The heated pool was a big hit with all the guests, and there were more than enough provided pool towels. The host is extremely quick to respond and so helpful. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and we hope to come back again soon!!

We had the pleasure of staying in this incredible Villa last weekend. The Villa was one of the cleanest and nicest we have ever stayed in. The hot tub was very clean and the private fire pit area was perfect for the cool nights. It is also very convenient to all of the hikes that Hocking Hills State Park has to offer. We would highly recommend staying here or any of the other villas the Hugga in the Hills has to offer!
