Our home is located on the Olympic Peninsula, just steps from where the Duckabush River meets the Hood Canal. We have tried to create a cozy and rustic space for guests to relax in! The cabin is conveniently located near lots of hiking trails, and several public beaches. Prepare to be completely engulfed in nature, as the property is home to many interesting and rare plants and trees. Come sit in the hot tub, while bald eagles fly overhead, or head to a public beach and find a bounty of oysters!

A perfect cozy winter retreat, you are right on the low bank waterfront of a private lagoon, & the Hood Canal, surrounded by woods. Outdoor amenities abound, with a pickleball court, 2 paddleboards, rowboat, & firepits at the beach & lagoon. Enjoy a scenic 1 hour drive to Olympic National Park, or watch for porpoises, otters and the resident bald eagles from the couch.

Shippen's Cabin

Located in the foothills of the Olympics, Shippen's Cabin offers the comforts of home in a wilderness retreat. The cabin is an ideal location to base your hiking adventure, or simply come to enjoy some time away from the city while exploring the area's many attractions. Relax after a long day on the trail with a hot sauna or a meal on the deck and enjoy the wilderness setting, often visited by local wildlife. High speed WiFi is available for those that need to stay connected during their stay.

Experience healing and peace with the sound of gentle waves on Discovery Bay. Our cabin was built in 1939 by our grandfather who was an early businessman in Port Townsend. He wisely recognized for decades to come this would be a prized place of rest, enjoyed by 5 generations. Our two kayaks for beginners and new paddle board are available for rent. Our one bedroom cabin with a fully equipped kitchen offers a chance to enjoy a private and uninterrupted access to the Olympic rain forest, while affording you easy walking or biking to the small village of Sequim.
