Fish the gold medal water, that are only 100' away. You're just minutes from Turquoise and Twin Lakes, where you can fish, boat, or enjoy all the water sporting activities the lakes have to offer. If you're a hunter, you're in the prime location. Skiing!!! But if you want to relax and enjoy the scenery, you couldn't have picked a better place!

The property, once home to a lumber yard and freight depot, now boasts a brilliantly renovated event space, outdoor stage, and thirteen luxurious cabins. As you enjoy the tranquility of National Forest just barely out the front door, know that this cabin is still a short drive from Leadville, or Buena Vista for your city fix. Carner’s Cabin - backcountry hut

A secluded cabin in a high alpine environment at 11,700 feet! Truly off-grid, without electricity, running water, NO WiFi. Beautifully furnished with fabulous furniture and wonderful beds to sleep 8. Just bring a sleeping bag & pillow case! WINTER ACCESS: By ski/skin, snowshoe or snowmobile only. 2 miles and 1000 foot gain to cabin. Takes approximately 3 hours on rolling and steep terrain. SUMMER ACCESS: By high-clearance, 4x4 vehicle and requires low gears (rental SUV not recommended).

Our cabin is one of a kind. Isolated with easy access, it is located outside Leadville-10,200 feet, between the Sawatch and Mosquito ranges, with stunning views of both. Licensed through the Land County Land Use License #2026-P8, allowing 4 guests only. Please DO NOT bring additional guests. No cleaning fee. Winter guests: Easy access to town. The county plows the road, still we recommend AWD or 4WD for all winter travel. Please read “other things to note” before booking.
