I used to live in Japan. Returning after a long break, I wanted to be in a house that reminded me of Japan and be in a neighborhood that made it easy to get to great places on foot and public transportation. Hiroe’s house met all these expectations and she was such a great host. I highly recommend staying at her house.

We had a great stay at this home. Our group of 6 comfortable stayed amongst the 3 upstairs bedrooms. Like most Japanese homes, the toilets and shower rooms are separate. This home had 2 toilets and 2 showers. The washing machine works great, and the drying functionality (hanging clothes in the bathroom by a drying vent) worked as well. We loved the location, walking distance from the Fushimi Inari shrine and across the street from a 7/11 and walking distance from 3 different train stations. Very easy to get around the area! Our family of 7 had a truly wonderful stay at Kimi’s place in Kyoto. The house was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a memorable trip. Kimi and his wife were incredibly kind and thoughtful. They even surprised us with gifts, which made our stay even more special. When we accidentally left an item behind, Kimi graciously arranged to have it delivered to us, showing such care and hospitality. Throughout our stay, communication was easy, warm, and helpful. We could really feel the heart they put into hosting, and we are so grateful for the experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kyoto. Thank you again, Kimi and Marilyn!

La petite maison proposée par l’agence est située dans un quartier paisible et très typique des environs de Kyoto. Juste à l’arrière du château de Nijo, dont la visite fût une superbe découverte ! L’hôte des lieux a été plus qu’accueillante, chaleureuse et à notre écoute qu’importe la question et a fourni des instructions très claires pour vivre au mieux notre expérience, je recommande vivement!!

Our group of 8 stayed at this Air BnB during our three night stay in Kyoto. This place has two floors and the top and bottom floor are copies of each other. I really liked that each floor had their own washer/dryer, fridges and bathrooms. The area has a lot of good restaurants and it is fairly close to Nishkiki market along with other attractions. The Air BnB comes with a booklet of recommendations for restaurants and clear instructions on the home;

我们一家人住了3晚，整体感觉比较适合带着老人、儿童，休息的时候很安静。楼上、楼下都有卫生间真的是很赞，楼梯不算宽，但是不陡，老人也可以适应。 地铁比较方便，其实离山科站很近，找到路了就觉得异常近，附近餐饮选择也还是挺丰富的，早上、晚上都很容易解决，而且不远有大超市，买简单的食材回来吃也可以，我们就有一晚买了刺身回来吃，走路2分钟有家炸猪排的餐厅，好好吃！！ 主人很客气，回复也及时，有问题都沟通很快。

Shoji and his family were AMAZING! So kind and caring. They were happy to hold our luggage for us and followed up with us about a lost passport situation (just out of concern for us). The place was in a fabulous location, and was very comfortable - perfect for what we needed. Highly recommend!

Asami and Daniel were among the kindest people me and my boyfriend ever met. All of the routes/places they advised us to take/see make up some of the best moments we spent in Japan. We're thankful for all the help they gave us and we think ANYONE staying in Kyoto should do so at their place. Thank you so much for everything <3

Rundum perfekt - sehr zentrale Lage und trotzdem ruhig gelegen mit vielen Restaurants und Bars in der Umgebung - sehr gute Kommunikation mit Aika - das Zimmer ist etwas klein, hat aber alles was man braucht - das Bett war ein Traum! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten uns sehr gut erholen Immer wieder gern! Danke!

This is a great place for a longer-term stay in Kyoto. Very communicative with two Kyoto metro lines nearby, a bus stop that leads directly to the big western areas with shrines, temples and natural forests, and just three stops from Kyoto JR. The neighbourhood is full of things to see!! Getting up with luggage is a bit difficult, as the stairs are steep, but not impossible. The view from the windows is everyday streets and shops, which is cool if you're into people watching, but otherwise not much to offer. Cleanliness: top-notch. I am always looking for the cleanest Airbnbs, and this one did not disappoint. May has been extremely helpful with all my requests and provided information on everything I needed, giving me options and even tried to help me find a luggage service to my next accommodation. Facilities: full kitchen, enough utensils and cookware. Lovely sitting area. Functioning TV. Bathroom with drier (the JP type, but it's enough).

Excellent location! Senkawa station is a few minutes walk and it is around 25 minutes walk to Ikebukuro. There are convenience stores very near to the place.. I’ll definitely be staying here again when I next visit Japan! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Ken was on of the most accommodating, friendly and helpful hosts we have met. In addition to the basics amenities, we enjoyed having a deck off the back of our unit with a table and chairs. We loved having breakfast outside while watching the birds over the river. We had easy access to the walking and biking paths on both sides of the river as well as many restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the location. Even though we were traveling during Golden Week, it was quiet at night and not crowded in the vicinity. Ken helped make our first trip to Kyoto (and Japan) a joy!

Fantastic location with plenty of amenities. The host was responsive to our contact and extremely helpful with local recommendations. The apartment was clean and tidy, and the elevator was a bonus as this doesn't seem common in Japan. They allowed us to leave our lugguge after check out while we explored Kyoto before departing the city. Overall this was a A+ experience and I would happily return.

May was very helpful from booking to checking in and was very responsive. The apartment was spotless, clean and felt very homely. Was great location and close to everything.

This Airbnb was a great find! The room was comfortable, clean and had the amenties we needed to make breakfast too. Although it is slightly further from the touristy parts of Kyoto, everything is very easy to reach on public transport. The Aeon mall which is a 15 minute walk away had so many restaurants that we could find something different every single night! We'd highly recommend this stay (:

Had an excellent stay here. Room was clean, hosts were very helpful and quick to communicate with. The beds were comfortable and the room was a decent size, perfect for 2 - 3 people. Location is nice since it's a little quieter area and away from the main busy road, but still close enough to a few shops and the river. would stay here again :). I have no complaints

Great location and airbnb was clean and appeared as advertised. Plenty of space for 5 people. Hosts were extremely responsive and flexible.

This is such a perfect and cool place in Kyoto for a family of four. Great location for sightseeing and shopping. The windows have amazing views of the city and make for great people watching. The beds and futons are comfy. The 2 bathrooms are so convenient. The dryer dries well which is rare in Japan. The host responds quickly. We also enjoyed the Starbucks right downstairs and the hip rooftop bar above. Things to consider: It’s one big open space so you won’t get much privacy. And there’s only one large sink by the kitchen for both bathroom and kitchen use, which may be a bit awkward. But those were no problems for us. We LOVED our stay and would definitely stay again if we return to Kyoto.
