Original artwork and beautiful mid-20th century furniture combine with a stunning belle epoque interior of parquet floors and period features You will not find a more luxurious, more beautiful and better placed apartment in central Budapest. It is located in the most prestigious part of Budapest (best part of District V) a stone's throw from Parliament, and the most beautiful square Szabadsag where the American Embassy resides. It is also a short walk to Margaret Island for relaxation and exercise. The building itself with lift is in immaculate condition externally and internally adding to the experience of the apartment itself. It features a dedicated home office so is particularly good for those travelling on business or simply wish to have a dedicated space to catch up on work and emails as required. The kitchen features a five hob, three electric oven range cooker with dedicated dining area in the stylish hallway area so is wonderful for evening entertainment. The main living room has a new bluetooth enabled media and music player system along with smart TV. It is very unusual to find an apartment with A/C in Budapest due to restrictions on installation but this apartment comes with full hot cold function. It also has a back up electric hot water heating system in the event of a problem with the main boiler. Both bathrooms are en-suite with the master bathroom having both roll top bath with mixer and separate shower. Architectural features include period illumination, door fittings and artwork from Buenos Aires, designer furniture from UK providers, period bathroom fittings from Victorian Plumbing, parquet, mouldings, french style wall panelling and vitreaux. All of this luxurious space is at your disposal. Either I personally or one of my assistants will be there to greet you. I also have an airport pick-up service which depending on plane times can be arranged in advance of your arrival. I am in constant touch and have another property in Budapest also on airbnb where you can see from the reviews that I respond promptly to guest requests and provide good recommendations on where to go , cafes and dinner places. Close to all the major attractions in Budapest - parliament, St Stephens basilica, Liberty Square the grand buildings of this neighbourhood will remind you of Paris or Vienna at its best. Close to the elegant Liberte and other top restaurants. One minutes walk to parliament and 2 minutes to Kossuth Lajos metro. 5 minutes walk to St Stephens Cathedral. Arany Janos metro on line 3 is 5 minutes walk. The picturesque tram 2 is at the bottom of the street. Margaret island for nature lovers and runners is around an 8 minute walk. Basilica is 5 minutes walk away. To ensure maximum coverage it is essential this remains on the ledge by the stained glass window. Network is Internet router upc (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), password YEGHGMJN The smart TV has Netflix account, simply switch on, select menu and then scroll for Netflix and choose account “stephen”, there are also children’s channels and youtube. There is no dedicated cable channel service. To use the hi-fi system, switch on and then using the “mode” function (second from left) press through the functions until you reach “BT” for bluetooth. The connect your streaming device such as phone or tablet and select samsung micro 12d954 There is a TP-Link internet repeater plugged into the wall. This is essential for achieving decent wi-fi coverage in the living room and main bedroom particularly for the smart TV so please do not disconnect or move socket locations. Heating and hot water The thermostat to switch the heating on and off is on the wall in the hallway next to the main bathroom. The Honeywell thermostat shows the ambient temperature, simply press the arrow buttons up or down to lower or increase the temperature. There is back up heating through the three air conditioning units located in the living room and bedrooms. To switch on ensure first the display on the remote control is showing the right mode which is the “sun” icon then simply switch on. It normally takes 3-5 minutes in standby mode before the heating comes on. The hot water is instant from the boiler located in the loft above the second bedroom. If the pressure drops there is a filling loop which feeds the boiler which should be switched on for no more than a couple of seconds and then switched off again. Both showers feature an “anti-scald” feature. This is a small button on the shower mixer which cuts supply to the hot water if there is a temporary interruption of cold. If the button is in the “high” position simply depress and simultaneously turn the mixer tap anti-clockwise The main water supply switch off is under the shelf space in the cupboard immediately to the left of the of the kitchen sink. To access take out the shelf and then using a small screwdriver insert to the valve and turn to shut off. Kitchen The electrolux reverse action tumble dryer is a condensor model so it traps the water in a plastic tank on the left hand side of the machine. Once this fills up (it wont go on if its full) you need to simply take out and drain water and then re-insert. It is also important to take out any fluff from the filter at the front of machine to ensure it operates correctly. Aeg lavanat prototex washing machine - the simplest program is the 20 minutes fast program followed by a 17 minute spin.Because of its location it is difficult to open the panel to put in the wash liquid so its easiest simply to enter directly in the machine. To start the daewoo microwave simply open the door as this triggers it switching on and select program. Electricity The apartment has 3-phase electricity. The fuse box is located in the hallway to the right hand side of the entrance door. If any part of the electricity cuts first check the lower box to see if a single phase has cut and then switch on again. If it is simply an individual item that has loss of electricity power then check the upper fuse box and see which switch has dropped and switch on again, all are labelled according to function. Miscellaneous Lowering the blinds at night helps reduce street noise and also helps heat insulation. Generally speaking no loud noise is tolerated in Hungary after the cut-off of 9pm Plastic and paper should be separated for recycling. All bins are on the ground floor rear of the building Access Access to the building is using the blue magnetic key device which should be touched or held close to the street buzzer panel. The apartment is located on the third floor. Take the lift to the third floor and on coming out turn right and the entrance door is on the corner. Guests can buzz up from the street typing in “23” and the intercom button automatically opens the front door. Primary access is from Batthory utca but it is also possible to enter the building using the blue access device from Kalman Imre street Close to all the major attractions in Budapest - parliament, St Stephens basilica, Liberty Square the grand buildings of this neighbourhood will remind you of Paris or Vienna at its best. This is our lovely, quiet, always bright studio. Why we like it so much? Because of: • The excellent access to the public transport, only in 10 minutes from Kazinczy/Király Street / Gozsdu Garden or other citysights by metro or downtown trolleybus in 15 min. • Our top floor terrace with insane panorama, where the whole city is visible including the Buda Castle, Basilica, Heroes Square, Elisabeth Lookout, Buda hills. Each day a picturesque sunset is included with the view. This is a good place if you want to have an ice-cold "fröccs"! • The bright, well-equipped kitchen where you can find all the tools you need to cook something delicious. • Pretty lights in the afternoon (facing west) and a comfortable queen size bed with foam mattress. We provide fresh bedsheets. • The bathroom with bathtub, toiletries, hairdryer, washing machine and fresh towels. • The good and fast wifi (240 Mbit). • The sound system with jack cable connection. • 35sqm studio • Air Conditioner • Television with 100 channels including several foreign channels as well. • Nestle 600 meters from Városliget Park (one of the biggest park of Budapest) which makes this location great for quick access to the outdoors. You can find here couple of museums, the Széchenyi Thermal Bath and the well known Heroes Square. • 24/7 reception in the building (but you can contact us 24/7 as well) We will provide you a booklet with our personal (and some hidden) tips (restaurants, bars, sights etc.) to enjoy the city as a local. All amenities in the entire apartment are available exclusively for you. We'll always be available by phone, email, airbnb messaging if needed, but otherwise you will have complete privacy and exclusive access to the entirety of the apartment for you to enjoy. We are always free if you have any questions and close by if you need anything. The apartment is a block from the iconic Andrassy Avenue and Heroes Square. It's a 20-minute walk to the Jewish Quarter, well-known for its vibrant nightlife, hip coffee shops, and cool restaurants. The building is right in front of a trolleybus station from where there are buses going in every 4 minutes towards the Parliament (15 minutes ride). Erzsébet Körút is either 10 minutes walk or 3 minutes ride with the trolleybus, from there you can take the tram 4-6 which is the busiest tram-line in Budapest operating 24/7 which takes you pretty much all around the city center. Keleti Railway Station is also a 8 minutes walk or 3 minutes ride with the trolleybus (78) to the other direction, from there you can take the subway M3 and M4. The surrounding streets offer a lot of free parking premises, also it's really safe to leave your car there even for a longer time.
