This house was perfect for what we needed, plenty of space and great surroundings. If you like water, there is a canal out back and the sound out front with kayaks and paddle boards available for use.

Beautiful home above a garage surrounded by amazing oak trees. Very quiet. Not directly on the water but easily accessible with access on the dock, kayaks, and paddle board. Kids and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. Close to beach and good restaurants.

Stayed during a duck hunt and worked out perfect. Everything with the house was as listed. Check in was easy and instructions were clear.

Great rental, super clean and they supply extra items such as beach towels or shampoo that makes it feel homey. They were super responsive and gave us some amazing food recommendations (the ice cream spots did not disappoint). Would definitely recommend, they are friendly and the room is well maintained!

We've stayed here multiple times because it is such a beautiful and cozy home. The decor is tasteful and homey. The amenities are so thoughtful. It's our favorite home in Kill Devil Hills.

Such a great Airbnb, the best we've stayed in so far! We loved having access to the firepit, kayaks and bikes. The house was so clean when we walked in. There was soap in the bathroom and plenty of towels and houseware in the kitchen. It was so comfortable. Evan was so responsive any time I had a question and checked in on us often. Will definitely be staying here again and recommend it to any family.

Wonderful home away from home. The neighborhood is quiet, quick walk to the private beach. We loved it.

When we arrived to the pirate house the kids immediately started working on the scavenger hunt! They loved it. House was just as it was in the pictures. Very clean and well decorated. The neighbors were very friendly and the kids enjoyed kayaking. During our stay the dryer stopped working and it was replaced within 24 hours with a new unit. It was nice to be in the gated community and have shops and the beach all in a 10 minute drive. Hands down will stay here again!!!

My wife and I stayed with our two kids and my parents (and their dog) and had a great time! The house is cozy but comfortable for 6, with a good amount of living space including a very nice sunroom. Amy was friendly and helpful in our communications and proactive at checking how things were going, and helped ensure we had a nice stay the whole time. Staying on the sound was beautiful, especially the sunsets. The house is right on a great multiuse path which is perfect for walking or biking to the nearby coffee shop or for exercise. Grocery stores and restaurants are close too, as are destinations like Jockey's Ridge and the Wright Brothers memorial. Two little things that made me happy were walking past the Muscadine vine in the front yard, and the color of the mailbox: a light blue which made it unique and easy to find when driving down an unfamiliar street. If your group is the right size for it, Safe and Sound is a great place to stay, and Amy is an excellent host!

Randy is a great host. I found the house very clean when I first got there and he had everything anyone would need for a beach vacation. I would definitely be going back next year.

I cannot say enough about this property, it has it all! Walkable beaches, clean home, private cul-du-sac neighborhood, comfy and cozy feel inside the house, amazing amenities included! We had a great vacation filled with many core memories for myself and my family. Chris was very attentive and any questions we had that were not answered in the guidebook he provided were handled by him personally. 10/10 experience from start to finish!

My husband, dog, and I had an amazing stay here! The house was spotless and well stocked with everything we needed. We accidentally locked ourselves out the first day and Whitney came to our rescue within 10mins! Location was very convenient and the neighborhood was nice. EV charger in the garage was also a big plus for us!

We totally understand and agree with Tanya being listed as a Super Host with 5+Stars! From making the reservation until checkout, Tanya made certain that we had absolutely everything we could possibly need for our stay, from extra toiletries, beach towels, sunscreen and even a sewing kit! She is responsive to messages, provides tips and suggestions on trips, places to visit and local restaurants! The house is pristine yet feels like home! We will definitely be making many more trips and this will be our “ home away from home!”

This house was very nice. The neighborhood is beautiful and it was centrally located to all the things we wanted to see in OBX. We liked having comfy beds for everyone and covered parking. Goldie was very communicative. It would be nice to have shampoo and body wash in the bathrooms (no one else in my family brought any 😂) and access to beach chairs and sand toys would be a helpful addition since it’s so close to the shore. This home has the most amazing view! Watching the sunrise over the sound every morning was breathtaking. It is about a half hour from the entrance to the Outer Banks, but we were more than happy to trade the drive for the absolute peace and tranquility of this home's serene location. The kitchen is well appointed so we enjoyed starting and ending each day with our own homemade breakfast and dinner.
