I loved my stay! We booked till Sunday but ended up extending and my check out is tomorrow Thursday! I loved the space, it was cleaned everyday, staff was friendly, the restaurant is quite convenient for days you don’t feel like leaving your apartment- only thing that would make it more enjoyable is expanding the menu to having more variety of foods and drinks. I loved the pool and the beautiful view facing the hills. Enjoyed my hot showers and the WiFi! The staff are also quite responsive to anything you need. My room service requests were made quite promptly! I would 100% recommend! Thank you!

We stayed at Makao for 6 days. The house is modern with great amenities. Davina was a great host and communicator. She got us an English speaking driver who took care of us the entire trip. Her staff cleaned and ironed our clothes( a first for me in an Airbnb). They also were available throughout. Davina are our holidays all much better

A lot has been said about the stunning beauty of this place, the exceptional hosts, the wonderful staff and the exciting activities you can do here with your family. On top of all that, this is sustainable tourism at its best. With every dollar you spend here you help the local community as Kerry-Ann and Patrick strive to evolve hand in hand with the people who surround them. Un endroit qui laisse rêveur, très charmant avec beaucoup d’activités au bord du lac a réaliser. Prenez le temps de vous arrêter minimum 2 nuits pour profiter des lieux. Je recommande !

One of the most unique Airbnb's I've ever stayed in. David transformed a tiny island on Lake Mutanda into a little paradise. Beautiful room & views, great food, lovely family. Perfect location to hike volcanoes or visit the Mgahinga National Park to see Gorilla's or Golden Monkeys.

Sans doute une des plus belles expériences de voyage. J´avais réservé 4 nuits, je suis resté une nuit de plus et je ne voulais plus partir. Bonnie est super, c´est une personne très accueillante, toujours souriante, toujours prête à prodiguer des conseils. Chez Bonnie on fait partie de la famille. Ses deux enfants sont curieux et sociables et toujours de bonne humeur. J´espère te revoir Bonnie, merci pour tout. Je me rappellerai toute ma vie de ces quelques jours chez toi.

It’s a beautiful place right on the lake side with basically nothing around which really gives you the opportunity to calm down. The food was amazing and super cheap! Just the breakfast was mediocre Only downside was getting there. It would great if the hostel would arrange transport from the bus to the ferry, since we got really harassed getting out of the bus.

I stayed two nights as a solo traveler visiting the national park to do gorilla trekking and other activities, following a conference in Kigali. Bernice and the staff were extremely helpful in helping me find the place, cooking meals, and giving local recommendations. With their help, I was able to arrange a boat tour on lake Ruhondo. Breakfast was included, and I paid a fair price for dinners and packed lunches -- the food was excellent and abundant. The grounds are tranquil and mostly quiet despite being in the main village. I would stay again!
