The Sheriff Murphy House

Built in the Eighteen-Nineties, the Sheriff Murphy house is a charming "Victorian" adobe home, with a wrap-around porch, two bedrooms, kitchen, a great room, and bathroom with a large old-fashioned bath tub (w/shower). The fenced in yard is ringed with fruit trees. A great option for a nice stop along the way through the mountains to Silver City. Or a chance to spend some time in a peaceful and welcoming small western town with friendly neighbors on the edge of the Aldo Leopold Wilderness Area.

Pet friendly, with large shaded enclosure. Hummingbird haven from April to October. Patio with charcoal grill and a garden for seasonal picking. Fresh eggs from my chickens in the fridge in season. Have you stayed overnight in a Church before? This is your opportunity. Your lodging in the Casita is attached to the now deconsecrated St Francis de Sales Church, surrounded by a large Spanish courtyard, garden, and a private patio and parking area. Experience the adobe spaces as built in 1860. The church compound is walled and gated. We are located 1 1/2 miles southeast of Hatch in a colonia called Rodey. Look for the bell tower from Hwy 185 and begin your experience here.

BEAUTIFUL, private, serene hand-built adobe 'casita' with natural plaster finishes, hand-made tiles, Japanese soaking tub, open shower, Queen-sized bed, large sliding glass doors, woodstove fireplace, heating and cooling unit, appointed kitchen for cooking, all natural soaps, shampoos, etc. Located on 5 acres with manicured Southwest gardens, and a fruit orchard. The casita is located close to town and on the edge of the extensive and stunning Gila National Forest.

Relaxing, quiet, private studio with a tall wood ceiling, solar skylights, 100mps WiFi, shared yard, patio. Dark skies. The entrance is in a courtyard away from the road and shaded by trees. Next door is my sister's BnB, the Black Range Lodge, where you can reserve a hearty breakfast for $10. Consider some therapeutic bodywork during your stay. My studio is steps away in the same courtyard. For safety I run a HEPA air purifier between guests.
