So often, air bnbs have failed to live up my hopes but this place does not disappoint. Perfectly located for us- just off a main route but still quiet and peaceful. It had everything we needed and we especially appreciated how warm and cosy it was after long days of exploring. We really couldn’t have asked for more!

This is the best place we have ever stayed. It was the perfect home to return to each day after our Icelandic adventures. The views were spectacular: 360 degrees of breathtaking beauty. It felt like a genuine home-from-home. Everything was provided; it was warm and clean, with just enough personality to give it character. The hot tub was a huge bonus, with views of the snow-capped mountains beyond. And the glass-fronted room has to be seen to be believed. Coffee/tea in there each morning was a highlight of a holiday packed with highlights! There were so many little touches: beautiful mood lighting; incense in the toilet; a quality corkscrew; the laundry room! Little things but the sort of things that elevate a place from good to great. It was the perfect place for our week long stay with our two daughters - 11 and 13 - and Asa was a consummate host.

Excellently located for short drive to most key attractions within the golden circle. Very quiet and away from the main towns so perfect for seeing the northern lights. Spacious modern house with everything we need. Dóróthea and Baldur were perfect hosts and very responsive. We must come back here!

We absolutely loved staying here! It was easy to get to in winter with 4WD and was a lovely location to watch the northern lights (there is not much light pollution). We visited in February and watched the lights from the hot tub multiple nights in a row. It is also the perfect location to visit the three 3 major attractions on the Golden Circle (Thingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss) as well as other Golden Circle destinations. They are all within a 10-30 minute drive. The house was clean, warm, and inviting. The welcome book and “leaving Uthlið” book was very detailed and well thought-out. Everything in the house was in its place as the notebook and instructions stated. Palmi and Vala were very responsive and had great recommendations. 10/10 Highly recommend!

We had a magical time at Sabrina’s cabin! Sabrina was incredibly helpful, kind, and responsive. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed as well as close to many sights. We saw the northern lights from the cabin our first night! Unforgettable :) Book it!!!

Really beautiful cabin in a perfect location. Good point to travel around the south from. Clean, very spacious and well laid out. Much bigger than I expected. Really good quality furniture and fittings. Lovely and warm at the end of a busy day exploring. Managed to watch a brilliant show of the northern lights from the decking. Would highly recommend.

Stunning view. A classic A-frame cabin. Soooo quiet and peaceful. Peaceful. Easy to walk to the restaurant and if you choose, walk to the little communities nearby, including farms and the local church. It's a cabin in the golden circle. Don't be a jerk. Appreciate. We are all lucky to experience this. And if you ask a question, Jake ANSWERS you almost immediately. But really... the porch overlooking the valley... and the AMAZING outdoor shower with hot water from the local geothermal station. SHUT UP if you don't appreciate how special this is. Therapeutic. Ahhhhhhhh. We stayed up late and saw the northern lights. Doesn't get better for peace and authentic. Thanks Jake!!!! 😁

Our stay was perfect. The cabin was great and exactly as shown in the pictures. The place was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances for a small kitchen. Eggert was quick to respond and check-in was easy and smooth. Great overall experience and would definitely recommend this place.

Gudny was an amazing, generous, and kind host. We felt immediately right at home and the home is well stocked with everything you could need as you adventure around Iceland. The location was excellent for our needs and it was quiet with beautiful views. The home was exactly as expected and the hot tub and outdoor shower were excellent! We would 100% stay again and highly recommend staying!!

The scenery was amazing. It was wonderful to hang out on the porch, though admittedly a bit chilly in early October. The cabin was very cute, well laid out, clean, and with many small touches that made it wonderful. Only downside was that the hot water does have a strong sulfur smell and the kitchen sink is shallow resulting in water often spraying out of the sink due to the high water pressure. Aside from those two minor issues that place was perfect solitude. One other item to mention is that the nearby waterfall trail was very worthwhile. You park in the nearby small neighborhood and walk up an ATV trail. It was amazing to be the only people around the waterfall and to be able to hike further up the mountains.

Stefan was great host, helped us as much as he could with recommendations and provided clear instructions on how to reach out his place and use it best way as possible-we truly appreciate and recommend!

Very peaceful and homely cabin in beautiful surroundings. Svanna is very helpful and the cabin is well kept and cosy. Rural location - we were lucky enough to catch the northern lights 4 nights in a row! Would happily stay again, thank you ☺️

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La maison est très fonctionnelle et très bien équipée. Le jacuzzi est très appréciable. L’environnement est magnifique et la maison tellement cocoon ! On s’y sent très bien, un vrai havre de paix pour les vacances. En plus de cela, elle est très bien située pour le secteur du cercle d’or. Bien sûr, il vous faudra compter 2h de route pour rejoindre le sud de l’île jusque Vik par exemple. Nous recommandons ++ Merci à notre hôte Thorsteinn qui est très réactif et serviable.

This was our first trip to Iceland, but we fit a lot of sight seeing in, and could not have been happier with having Odd's place as our launch and landing pad. The views are incredible, he gives great recommendations, and the place itself is comfortable an has all the amenities you may need. I have stayed in well over 30 Airbnb's all over the world now, and Odd's hospitality and special touches are top notch, and keep me utilizing these unique experiences. Thank you Odd!

Absolutely amazing. I’m so glad we decided to stay outside of Reykjavík while in Iceland. There are three cabins on the property, but we were the only people there. You can walk down to your own private beach with whale bones. We went down there five times during our stay, and we saw seals swimming four out of the five times. Also, you have unobstructed 360 degree views of the mountains and the fjord.

Checkin was a breeze and Alfa was extremely helpful throughout our entire stay. Truly a beautiful home with everything you need, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Views from the home are absolutely stunning and the interior is very warm and welcoming. My family and I enjoyed our stay and would absolutely love to visit again.

We stayed with our two adult children for hunting some northern lights. The accommodation was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. A true recommendation if you look for a private, clean, quiet and modern stay with stunning views. Ragnar was always available and a helpful host.

This was our first time in Iceland and I’m so glad we chose Helga’s beautiful cabin to stay. The surroundings are amazing and something we will never forget. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable for the week. It was cozy, quiet, and felt private even with cabins nearby. Off the beaten path but close to our first stop on the Golden Circle. We enjoyed the hot tub, very relaxing after a lot of driving and hiking. We weren’t sure we’d see the northern lights so late in the season but ended up seeing them our last two days - right from the cabin deck and living room windows. After such a great trip, I hope to return to Iceland someday soon!

Linda’s cottage is absolutely wonderful! Our family of four found it the perfect size to be basecamp for plenty of home cooked meals, evening hot tubs looking for (and finding) the Aurora, and a great return pad from a day of activities from Vic to Snaeffelsnes Park! We will return in the summer when we can enjoy more of the land and locations around the Fjord.

I can’t say enough kind words about our stay at Stefan’s home. It was a short 30-40 minute drive from Reykjavík, and a great starting point for seeing popular sites like Thingvellir National Park and Gullfoss. Getting to the house was exciting, it is very remote and just when you think the driveway has ended, you keep going and drive nearly right on the beach! Beautiful surroundings, and we even got to see some seals close to the shore! The inside of the house was clean but not boring like a hotel room. A lot of neat artwork and comfortable furniture and lighting made hanging out in the house and enjoying the view a highlight of our stay. I would recommend Stefan’s place to any friend visiting Iceland that wants a remote and private home base!
