Outdoor activities are available throughout the area: ample hiking trails, kayaking excursions, fishing, Lake Moomaw, the infamous natural, warm spring waters bubbling from the earth, etc.!

Step outside to hundreds of miles of biking and hiking trails, and stocked lakes and streams. Well maintained paved state road to cabin driveway. The house is 20 minutes West of Harrisonburg VA and JMU.

The Bushwhacker cabin is a rebuilt pre-civil war log cabin on 10 acres with spectacular mountain views. The cabin is surrounded by the Monongahela National forest with hiking trails starting from the cabin and a beautiful mountain steam that runs on the property, providing a calming, stress free background. The Bushwhacker cabin is only a short distance to the Marlinton Williams river , 45min to Snowshoe, scenic highway, the Greenbrier,Hot Springs VA, and Lewisburg WV(voted coolest town)

Set in the beautiful Alleghany Mountain Range, the Cabin On The Creek is a custom-built luxury cabin with amazing views and access to Potts Creek on a private wooded property. Multiple outdoor areas to enjoy the sights and sounds of the creek include the back porch, observation deck with Adirondack chairs, and walking path that leads to a stunning view of the Potts Creek “Sinks.” Enjoy the tranquil natural environment as you make use of the outdoor grill, picnic area, fire pit, and hot tub.

Perched on the banks of the Greenbrier River and blocks from the Famous Greenbrier River Trail (78 miles). This Log "Bear’s Den" offers everything you could want in a get-a-way. Come enjoy a night by the fire pit, sit on the riverbank and fish, put your kayak in the river, hop on the trail for bike ride, ski the mountains of Snowshoe Ski Resort or simply enjoy the tranquility that our county offers. Farm's Edge Cabin at Apple Horse Farm

This cozy, secluded cabin sits on the edge of a 1000-acre farm overlooking rolling hay fields. This is the perfect spot for solo travelers, families, or couples to relax, recharge, and enjoy the outdoors. Find yourself drinking coffee, finishing up work, or deep in a good book in the sunroom. Then fill your day with outdoor activities throughout the Allegheny Highlands. At night, grill out and enjoy dinner around the table. Then light a bonfire and stargaze before ending the night.

Woody’s🪵 Cabin in the Woods!

‼️PLEASE NOTE: The driveway is well-maintained gravel, but it is steep. To preserve its condition and avoid getting spinning tires, 4 wheel drive or all-wheel drive is highly recommended. Thank you for your understanding!‼️ Woody’s is the perfect place to rest and relax. This gem of a cabin is nestled in a beautiful part of Virginia, surrounded by the majestic George Washington National Forest. Woody’s is only 30 minutes from Madison Heights and 37 minutes from downtown Lynchburg.

Brent's Cabin

Enjoy our cozy and comfortable cabin situated on 20 private wooded acres near several trout streams, George Washington National Forest, Virginia Game Commission, hiking trails, and caves. Brent's Cabin sleeps four, including a double bed and two twin beds in the loft. For skiing we are 1 hour and 30 minutes from snowshoe and 30 minutes from The Homestead. For fishing we are 5 minutes away from the Bullpasture, 10 minutes from the Cowpasture, and 25 minutes from the Jackson River.

Stony Brook Nordic Cabin

A bright open space with large windows and high ceilings that compliment the view of surrounding foliage. A large screened-in porch at the front of the house is perfect for intimate gatherings. A hot tub is available alongside the house in addition to a two-person outdoor shower, and corn hole boards and a fire pit offer additional options for family fun. You won’t have cell phone signal out here -and the WiFi isn’t strong enough to run too many devices at one time.

Little Cabin in the Woods is quiet and secluded!

Enjoy our rustic, cozy, historic log cabin in the woods on 21 acres with two streams and a little meadow. The logs, from the 1800's, were reconfigured 17 years ago combining a rich history with high speed internet and modern amenities. Sink into the luscious bed with totally organic sheets, mattress topper, and pillows. Take a walk on the original wagon train road down to a stream or bath your senses in the majestic view of Jump Mountain from the meadow.

Rendezvous at Rhonda's View!! Enjoy your morning coffee and evening beverage while sitting on the deck or screened-in porch overlooking the Cowpasture River. It is truly a special place of serenity. Geese, heron, and an occasional eagle fly along the river valley.
