The house was lovely for a family with four kids 7 and under. The lake, hot tub, and water toys made for a lot of fun. We did have an issue with construction being done on the dock without our knowledge for two of the days, but the owners mostly remedied the issue.

Richard went above and beyond to ensure that my family was comfortable and at home. He was highly communicative and responsive and the information provided before and during the stay was extremely helpful. I booked this home for family who visited the area during my wedding week and, as a local, can say that the house is in a prime location between parks and the river park system and a vibrant shopping and restaurant district. A fantastic stay in a well provisioned, unique space that is meant to be enjoyed!

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this stunning historic mansion in Richmond, VA for a long weekend wedding celebration, and it was nothing short of magical. Our group included the bridal party and parents. The home was the perfect backdrop for such a special occasion. The home is full of character and charm — perfectly blending vintage elegance with modern comfort. The spacious layout made it easy for everyone to have their own space, yet cozy enough for relaxing for friend/family time and wedding and bridal prep time, not to mention GORGEOUS photos.The weather even allowed us to enjoy quality poolside time) The host was incredibly attentive, responsive, and thoughtful. Kim and Paul literally responded within minutes (to even the silliest of questions) and were able to accomodate us arriving before check in time. I could go on and on and highly recommend this wonderful location for and friend/family getaway.

The Resort lived up to its name. My family enjoyed this home for an entire month. We did not want to leave! We plan to visit again. The host was fabulous and very accommodating. This was a total 5 plus star experience.

This house is awesome. It's huge and priced very competitively. It did have issues, but they didn't bother us too much. If you're expecting perfection from a home this size, at this location at this price, you're not being reasonable. For our needs, it was PERFECT.

The cottage was clean and uncluttered. It was very comfortable, from the table to the couch to the beds. It had all the amenities needed for a week-long stay. It was in a safe and friendly gated resort neighborhood. As a group of four adult women, we loved the four bathrooms (3 full, 1 half) and four comfortable beds.

Everything was great at the house Anna. We were very pleased with the spacious and comfy house. Just one thing. There was a rain storm Friday night and a tree branch fell onto the top of my son’s roof rack, damaging it. I would definitely check the tree to the left of the driveway where he was parked as I think more are likely to fall. Marilyn

Very charming and tasteful renovations. The house was spacious, clean and cozy. Had an issue getting into the house due to the lock, but the host was quick to respond and was able to let us in within minutes of notification. So thankful for the excellent communication and customer service. Will definitely stay here again!

Excellent stay and retreat for us Thank you

We lived here for a month while house hunting after PCSing to the area. It cost the same as staying in a hotel but with James we had an older, but well-maintained townhouse with a nice living room, two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, private laundry, and a fully functional eat in kitchen with extra amenities like a Keurig, an air fryer, a toaster, in addition to the normal fridge/freezer/oven/stovetop/microwave! The neighborhood was friendly and quiet, and James was always very responsive. The area lost power one of the days we were there and he got in touch with the power company to make sure they were aware and updated us about when the power was expected to return. A great and honest host!

We had a wonderful stay. As a family of five, we had plenty of room to rest and relax. The house is gorgeous and spacious and the outside spaces are absolutely beautiful. The location is close to great restaurants and attractions. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations.

Gloria was an amazing host and her home was outstanding! Beautiful home, even better views, many activities to do, close proximity to stores, private and quite, except for a rooster that was roaming the property (which we thought was cool to see). All my kids did was play outside the entire trip, not one iPad was watched. We will be back for sure!

Great home in Richmond. Loved being tucked away on a nice residential street while being so close to so much. Roseanne provides a lovely home for some peaceful R & R.

The lower level apartment was as advertised. The upstairs rental apartment was busy and loud at times, but there was truth in advertising that this is a lower level apartment. What you see is what you get in the space. There was a surprise utility service during my stay. I let it alone, but the owner contacted me to apologize and offer a credit, which I appreciated.

The home was exactly as pictured, clean , and comfortable. The hosts were accommodating. We booked less than a week before we needed it and they treated us as if we’d been planning for months. The neighborhood was quite and the back deck was great to get some alone time away from the other guests.

Great Deal for anyone looking for a spacious and quiet spot only a mere 20 minutes from downtown Richmond! Highly recommend.

I have to say, this house really set the bar for our kids. Great big house, two living room areas, four nice-sized bedrooms. The kids LOVED the games (arcade, shuffleboard) and the kitchen had lots of great extras (salt & pepper, etc). Our dog also had a blast, plenty of space to walk her in the backyard and down the street. We walked down to the Lake, which was available to us but not really a place to hang out. Highly recommend the thrift shops nearby (Plum Pickings, for one). Would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at Colonial Retreat, located in a safe quiet neighborhood and a convenient distance to most attractions. The house is clean, cozy and comfortable, with modern accommodations. The host provided all the basic essentials and the house rules were clear and reasonable. We would love to visit again.

Charlene is a wonderful and very responsive host. This was our second time staying there when we visit Williamsburg. The location is great and only a few minutes from everything. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our week. We look forward to staying again in the future.
