The Blue Cow Barn - Betsie Cottage

The Blue Cow Barn Accommodation is situated on a working farm, 1km from Barrydale town centre. Our farm has gone through many seasons - from a fruit farm to a dairy farm and now a guest farm. Our cottages are named after the cows that were part of the dairy and Betsie is our most flamboyant and eccentric cottage and cow. You'll love this cottage as it is situated in the original farm barn that dates back to the 1960's and the gorgeous mountain view. This cottage also has access to the hot tub.

Zeekoegat Historical Homestead

Take a step back in time and sleep in a historical monument built in 1795 on this exquisite piece of farm property that has been lovingly restored. We practice regenerative farming and encourage biodiversity. This is a place to relax, reconnect and recharge. It is our happy place where we embrace all forms of wildlife and love our menagerie of domestic pets from pigs to turkeys to horses and lots of dogs. Not for you if you don’t like animals, if you do it’s paradise . WiFi in the garden only.

This delightful cottage is in the heart of the quaint and queer town of Barrydale. It oozes character, and is a lovely place to stop over, or rest a few days and simply unwind. A beautiful, double volumed open plan space features a living room downstairs, with a sliding door opening to the main bedroom, and a large eat in kitchen/ dinning area upstairs with access to a terrace with views for Africa. The perfect place for a couple looking for a romantic retreat, or a family on a road trip.

A cosy self-catering apartment with an unspoilt view of the river mouth, ocean and adjacent nature reserve. Sit back and relax with a book or keep an eye on the tide, whether you'd like to go fishing, kite surfing or just to enjoy the great out-doors. The adjacent nature reserve provides numerous foot-path routes through the indigenous Fynbos. From the balcony you may have some early morning sightings of small antelope and other animals as well as an abundance of bird life.

Die Melkstal

Experience the Farm Life at "Die Melkstal" Guesthouse! Our quaint guesthouse started its life as a three point cow milking parlor in the early 80's. The parlor has been converted into a three bedroom self catering guesthouse. Being situated 12km from the nearest town of Heidelberg Western Cape, Die Melkstal is fairly close to the Route 62 and the start of the Garden Route. With little to no selfone signal or Wi-Fi, you can relax and unwind without distractions!

The farmhouse is 30 yards from the river, and has an enchanting beautiful wind free outdoor lounge area on a jetty connecting you to the river. The Duiwenshok River is one of the Overberg’s best kept secrets, approximately 3,5 hours from the bustle of Cape Town, this delightful hideaway is seemingly untouched by the hand of time.

When we first opened our spot we were truly over the hills and far away... now the village has grown around us a bit, but the place can still feel pretty secluded. The architect-designed house mixes inside/outside space with plenty of room for family.. Explore wetland, river and the Langeberg mountains. With plenty of comforts this spot is paradise for children, dogs and a retreat for adults.

Beautiful family house on the Breede River, with a private jetty for boat mooring and fishing. Secure estate, boom access. Large, sunny patio, great for a braai/BBQ, sheltered from the wind. Large lawn down to the river. Additional activities offered include a wood-burning hot tub, foosball and table tennis.
