Little House in the Hollow

The John Sydney House - Family Friendly Queen Anne

This classic 3 BR 1 .5 BA Queen Anne Victorian (c. 1892) has retained many original features that are just breathtaking! A grand oak staircase, original hardwood floors & trim, stained glass, French & Pocket Doors to name a few. Staying here offers the traveler in search of history a clear connection to Hannibal's past, its place in time and to the local culture – with modern amenities! The covered patio is where nights can be spent around the fire or watching the outdoor television. For hot summer days, jump in the above ground pool! The Library is your own hideaway in the heart of historic Hannibal. No one would suspect there is a charming apartment tucked away above a downtown business. This special place is close to coffee, restaurants, the river, shopping, bicycle rental, even a chocolate shop - making it easy to plan your visit. A quiet get-away with plenty to read. Because there are books and breakable items, and there are businesses downstairs and across the hall, we limit guests to no more than two adults.

The Cottage was built in 1903, with the age of the home comes with many flaws, you will find cracks in walls, ceilings, maybe even glass. The scuff each have a story and the stories that could be told, if paint were able to talk. The home is not perfect, but just affordable and cozy. We strive to make your stay comfortable by including the home with essential items needed for the duration of your stay.
