【EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT!】This adventure will be held in Kyoto’s famous destinations Arashiyama. We will explore both tourists' must-go places as well as many hidden gems while avoiding the crowds. No worries, we will take stops and take moderate roads to walk. We will visit 3 temples/shrines and Along the way, the host will tell you histories/stories about Arashiyama. Will promise to show you places where only locals go and you would never go or find on your own. Your guide is a Kyoto local, a fluent English speaker and who’s perfect for giving you an intimate experience of all that Kyoto has to offer.
- The Tour starts at JR Arashiyama Station (only 20min away by train from Kyoto station).
- First, we will go visit must-go places in Arashiyama; Tenryu-ji temple and bamboo forest. Your guide will give you a nice photoshoot for you (with your phone!)
- Next, we will explore some hidden/lessor know places avoiding the crowds as Giouji)
- We will have some stops for souvenirs, a little break for coffee :)
- We will be back to JR Arashiyama Station at the end of the tour

- We will leave the meeting point after the 10 min tour introduction.

Meet your guide at JR Saga Arashiyama Station. We will go to Tenryuji temple and bamboo forest. Next, we will visit, Gioji. The tour will end in main street in Arashiyama.

Our host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the locations that we went to. It was an enjoyable tour and fairly educational.
My only real complaint is the title of the experience is a bit misleading. We didn't really go to any 'hidden gems'. You pretty much go along one road the entire time in Arashiyama where the super tourist populated bamboo forest is and visit a number of shrines and temples along the same road. Honestly, unless you really want to get a bit more context and story you don't really NEED a host to find these spots.

We had the pleasure of walking with Yumi. She took us on routes where there were very few crowds and also took us to quiet and intimate shops. During this trip, I proposed to my Fiancée in the bamboo forest, so this will definitely be a memorable experience.
