We will meet in Glasgow at Drygate Brewery at 9am and head to Loch Lomond national park, driving along side the route of the west highland way, passing through Strathblane & Blanefield then through the the small village of Drymen, before stopping at Balmaha (village on the eastern shore of loch Lomond), there we will leave the car and head to the Oak tree inn (voted Scotland's best independent bar 2015) where we can grab a coffee on the banks of the Loch, we will then head round to the boat house where we will board the boat to Inchailloch Island which is part of the Loch Lomond National Nature Reserve. When on the island we will trek through the forrest, visit an ancient cemetery and church ruins, explore the coastline, hike up to the summit lookout point, to view the whole of Loch Lomond, and then we will stop at the private beach where you will have some time to relax and have some lunch, there are toilets and picnic benches here and a nice spot for a BBQ. And for those brave enough to face the cold water you can also have a swim. We will then get the boat back to Balmaha and head back to Glasgow.
I have spent 11 years backpacking all round the world and all roads have brought me full circle back to Glasgow, I'm back home with a thousand adventures behind me and a positive outlook in front of me. Travelling has earned me a care free mentality and a willingness to seek out the strange and unexplored and bask in it, while others move swiftly by and miss the beauty that is all around them. For me there is no beauty like Scotland, I spend all my free time out in nature exploring. Let me show you loch Lomond and the trossachs off the beaten track in all its rugged glory.

Inchailloch is a wonderful place to visit due to its rich beautiful natural and cultural heritage. It is the perfect place to experience remoteness and wildness of one of the lochs islands. Each season brings something new to discover. In the spring the island is carpeted in bluebells which creates a magical backdrop for the wildlife that lives there. In summer the island flourishes and becomes a rich habitat for birds, flowers and plants
