This is essentially a walking tour around downtown (el centro) Mexico City in which we will visit some record stores, some street vendors (records and books) and also make a quick pass thru the Biblioteca de México. The name is "Record Store Tour and MORE" because its not just about records, I was a history major in university so along the way we will also talk a little bit about the history and culture of downtown Mexico City. I will tell some stories from the perspective of a musician and a DJ. At the heart of the tour is record stores and I know a number of different shops and vendors so if you have some specific genres or particular questions or interests please let me know and I would be happy to accommodate you!! Hablo Español tambien si quieren hacer el tour en Español me avisas!
Hola! I'm Anthony, also known as Loki da Trixta. I am a DJ and HipHop artist born and raised in New York City, now living in Ciudad de México. Since my early days I have been a lover & collector of all types of music. I began collecting vinyl records in the 90s because a lot of the music I was into at the time was only being sold on vinyl. I began DJing in New York with records before the arrival of digital DJ technology. My musical career has taken me many places in the past 15 years but somehow I have now landed here in Mexico City. I love it and hope to share some of that with you!!
Various record stores, street vendors and a quick stop at the Biblioteca de México (central library).
I love answering questions, so ask away, whatever comes into your mind, just ask!!! Also be prepared to walk and talk.
