We will be hiking from Richmond to Hampton Court Palace with a quick pitstop to Eel Pie Island (15-18km, approx. 4hrs of hiking, easy-moderate). We will be meeting at Richmond station and making our way upriver along the Thames Towpath. Along the way we'll be browsing the likes of Ham House, taking a short £1 ferry to explore Eel Pie Island (with the hopes of spotting an eel), having lunch at Canbury Gardens and making our way to Hampton Court Palace.
I'm a Canadian (from the Rockies) turned Londoner so it is in my DNA to escape the city and embrace the great outdoors! Having lived in this city for five years I have discovered that so many women are curious about hiking, wild swimming and many other adventurous pursuits but often don't have the community or the support to do these activities. I'm a big advocate of moving, and helping women reconnect with their bodies through exercise. This won't be a super pacey hike (15-18km) but it will inspire you and recalibrate your balance between city life and being wild at heart.
FUN FACT: This hike features a quick ferry ride to the famous island of Eel Pie Island. It became famous in the twentieth century when steamers brought London day-trippers to be entertained by legendary musicians such as The Rolling Stones. This hike will immerse you in the pleasantries of rustic English countryside and is a hike for anyone who enjoys dipping into the historic boatlife culture of the Thames.

We'll meet outside Richmond Station and I will be wearing a black jacket, hiking pants, and a maroon backpack.
