Discover what Florida looked like 200 yrs ago at Merritt Island. I will have a uber picking you up at your home or hotel at about 7 am to bring you to my store. Then we are headed north to Merritt Island wetlands and Cape Canaveral National Seashore. NASA bought the whole island to protect it's rockets in the early 1960's. The land is mostly undeveloped and wild. We will travel the dirt roads that go through the wetlands and take a hike into the wilderness. Then off to the National Seashore. It has 24 miles of beach without one condo to disturb your view of nature. Sometimes the next closest person is a mile away. Wear long pants with your bathing suit underneath. Be sure to bring a towel and a camera. You will want to catch many memories of this beautiful place. I hope you enjoy this great trip.

Merritt Island was saved from the destruction of progress by the great space race. It was bought by NASA to protect the rockets and ended up protecting the wilderness. There is over 57,000 acres of protected wilderness and 24 miles of undeveloped beach. More than 300 types of birds call it home. This is a great place for the photographer, birder or nature lover.
This is a wildlife area. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes or boots. Respect any wildlife and please do not litter. This environment is special and we need to keep it that way.
