Our walk takes us through the inner city, learning about Auckland’s history from early Māori habitation through to modern new developments. Our walk includes the recently upgraded Takutai square which has a market on Saturdays promoting New Zealand foods. We bisect the city through recently created laneways avoiding traffic. We will see historic and newly built buildings. We visit Albert Park, an oasis in the city, and view Old Government house, Waipapa Marae and the Fale Pasifika within the Auckland University grounds.
