Prepare to take on Kyoto and its night scene like the locals who live there. Most people come to Kyoto for its cultural and historical roots, but this tour will show you the rest of the sites that only come alive after the sun sets! Your host, Tamaki will take you to her favorite restaurants that only the locals know!
To start off we will go to an Izakaya bar to get fine beer with some appetizer. Next, we will hit a Machiya (Japanese traditional) restaurant for main dish. At the end we will go to a Sake bar to find your special one. We will go to 3 different kinds of the restaurants over all. This tour provides you a full course of food at 2 restaurants and we will try some Sake at the last bar in this tour! (No need of extra cash to bring!) Infants (0~3yrs old) can join this tour for free.
*About Food Restrictions*
- We cannot accommodate gluten-free.
- We can accommodate those who cannot eat whole pieces of meat or fish, but some dishes are based on fish broth and we cannot avoid this.
- Alcohol or pork may be included in the ingredients.
- Therefore, we cannot accommodate strict vegetarian/non-alcoholic diets.
Other things to note
- If you have food restrictions please let the host know beforehand. (We cannot accommodate on gluten-free, vegan and halal meals)
- We will leave the meeting point after the 10 min tour intro

- At the first restaurant, we will hit an izakaya bar for appetizers which goes perfectly with beer!
- At the second restaurant, you may enjoy authentic Japanese dishes for main dishes in Machiya styled(authentic Kyoto style) restaurant.

The tour was fine. The bars we went to were wonderful and the food we had was great. For the value we didn’t really get any tour it was more of just a walk to the next bar. Felt there is better tours out there were you get more for your investment.

We visited three izakayas, 2 for food and 1 for sake. Yuto was a great host! He was knowledgeable about the food around Kyoto as well as Osaka and gave us plenty of recommendations. Yuto took us to places we definitely would not have been able to come on our own. We really enjoyed the experience, and would recommend this tour.

Our host, Wako, did an excellent job in explaining all the food we having and going to places that I wouldn’t have gone to otherwise with my lack of the Japanese language. She did a great job in create a great atmosphere with each other’s company. Highly recommended!
