“Echigoyuzawa” is the type of rice from the Guinness book of records.
Why was rice from the Guinness book of records created in Echigoyuzawa town?
There are three reasons
① In summer, there is a big difference between day and nighttime temperature.
② In the spring, when snow melts, the ground is full of slush.
This is abundant in minerals and nutrition.
Almost all farmers use the same technique to make Guinness Bok of Records rice.
③Farmers make an original manure which contain earthworms and water fleas which have died in the ground.
The earthworm droppings also become fertilizer. As a result, sweet rice is produced.
One farming family's rice made it in the Guinness book of records in 2017. It also got the "world's best rice" authorization.
This rice has won a gold medal at a 2018 Japanese rice contest. We are very proud of these results. It is, however, rare to find Echigoyuzawa rice in Tokyo.
Let me encourage you to try our famous rice.
Besides, I have prepared vegetables, and fish produced in this area. This is considered a high-quality fish in Tokyo.
Sushi cannot be prepared from river fish, only from sea fish.
As a local of Echigoyuzawa, I have experience that only a local person has.
And we'll meet in JR Echigoyuzawa station at 10am.
So we'll walk to BBQ area about 15~20min.

Very unique experience especially for whom never tried wild BBQ before. Toru is an old hand in preparing everything while controlling the time. The place without him we can never find and reach in Yuzawa. And it is a really beautiful place. I would definitely recommend this to others as it is interesting, budget and unique.

I'm camping regularly. However, I have never camped in winter. And 2 m of snow was the first time. It was anxious because there was much snow but Toru gave good advice and the camp succeeded. I eat meat and rice to eat in the snow, very delicious. It was a lifetime memory that I was able to camp in the snow. I recommend this experience tour. I will also go camping. Thank you
