Observe lions in their natural habitat while helping conservation professionals conduct field work. Spend the first evening learning about African wildlife and local Samburu culture around a friendly campfire. Drive to the tracking location in the morning. Strap on your walking shoes and go on a safe, guided ramble to encounter lions—and likely many other animal species as well. Have a picnic lunch and bush tea in the afternoon. Return to Nairobi the next morning, passing Mt. Kenya and crossing the Equator along the way.
I am a wildlife biologist who has lived and worked with the local Samburu tribe for over 18 years studying African lions. The guides are experienced professionals who have spent hundreds of hours conducting field work and guiding participants and who personally know the lion prides in this region. Guest to Guide ratio: 4:1 depending on your group size.
