You will spend the afternoon shopping for unique gifts and souvenirs, hunting for vintage treasures with me as your personal shopping guide in different markets and stores. I keep my group small (max. 7 people) so you can get my personal attention. Before we start, we will first take some time to get to know each others, your styles, budgets and Toronto (of course) while enjoying refreshment of your choice at a coffee shop. Looking for something special for someone or for a special occasion? Let me know I will work my magic. While we commute between locations (shared transportation is covered), I will share some history of Toronto and the area we are heading to. There will be plenty of walking and standing so make sure you wear something comfortable. During the tour, I will also share my top 7 tips in shopping vintage (learned through blood, sweat and tears). Here is tip #1: bring cash! Cash is the best bargaining chip if you want to score the best deal.
As an avid jazz /big band /swing lover, I have developed a taste for all things vintage from the Mad Men era and beyond. Having shopped at different markets (New York, London, Madrid, Montreal and Shanghai... just to name a few) for many items (collectibles, framed art, garment, jewellery, home accessories & furniture) for work and myself personally, I know a good deal when I see it! Vintage items make unique souvenirs for your trip in Toronto and are great personalized gift. As a professional interior designer, I also Incorporate vintage finds in the space I designed.
Coffee or tea of your choice.
Shared transportation between stores will be provided.
All Sunday trip will include a visit to the St. Lawerence Antique Market where I will introduce you to my favourite vendors.
Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes as we would be standing and walking around most of the time. Seating is scarce if it exists at all. Vintage shopping is an endurance sport!
