You'll learn how we pronunce the original name of the area and travelling back to the time you'll discover how and why the Serenissima Repubblic decide to create a segregation area for Jews. Who was the Doge? Was the area all day close? How many sinagogues we had and we are still having in Venice? Why buildings are so different? I will help you to admire the "skyscrapers" of Venice and find out about the Stolpersteine (stumbling blocks) of the area, so I can explain how the Holocaust has left a deep mark on Venice. Discover the history behind the oldest pawn shop in Venice and listen to famous local stories. Do you know Shakespeare 's Merchand Venice? This is the place! And then.. Ghetto Novo, Vecchio, Novissimo: why?
I want to provide an educational experience to make you want to come to Venice as soon as possible!
This experience normally takes place in the magnificent Cannaregio sestiere but it is now brought to you live from my house using Zoom!

I had wonderful experience with Lucia on Friday evening after the long working week. I definitely will try other "online" trips with her. Interesting and not really typical part of the history is told with the great mixture of sensitivity to the topic and Italian positive attitude and humor. I really loved it and recommend for all Venice lovers or future Venice lovers :)

Lucia is a wonderful tour guide. She lives in the area that she is speaking about and dives into the history of the area to tell the story of how the area came to be. You can not go to Venice without meeting up with Lucia. Tell your friends because this is a great way to spend a couple of hours.

The virtual tour was interactive and we learned a lot about the Jewish community in Venice. Lucia was accommodating with our schedule, very knowledgeable, and taught with passion. We had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and we highly recommend the tour. Can’t wait to make the Impade cookies and hope to use Lucia as a tour guide when we travel to Venice.
