Just booked in Detroit

Just booked in Detroit
Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • I travel to Detroit often and my time in the city is time that I treasure and most of the time I am there working and have very little flexibility. For both of those things Thane's place was amazing. It's close to everything, it's on the river walk, it is in a gorgeous location, it has a grocery within walking distance, it's beautiful, hassle free and felt safe. I travel to Detroit alone and when I was needing a calm quiet space, Thane's was perfect. The kitchen was wonderful, the bed was comfy and the view is to die for. Also, iron street is something you don't want to miss. I never wanted to leave. Thane is amazing! So helpful and kind. He let me borrow his bike and I took it to slow roll, he lent me his copy of the Wild Sam guidebook and he was wonderful to be in contact with. A magnificent host. I will be booking with Thane again on my next trip to Detroit.

  • Thane was a knowledgeable and welcoming host with a really great place! Would definitely stay again while in Detroit.

    Dominic2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Love then spot and love the atmosphere Thane has created. There was unfortunately construction while we were there. that started early but it helped us get out of bed and start exploring the city. Thane was a great host! Really enjoyed all the goodies he left for us.

    Daniel2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I loved meeting Thane and his mom, Karen. They greeted us with warmth and friendliness. We enjoyed the loft very much - our favorite place to stay in Detroit. The bed is super comfortable.

    Billie Jo2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect loft with a great view!

    Olivia2015-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at Thane's loft for 2 nights. What an interesting place! Super high ceilings and very open and cool. We loved being able to walk downtown on the Riverwalk. Beautiful! We also loved being so close to Belle Isle where we were married many years ago. Karen (Thane's mom) was a great and welcoming host. Very available and enthusiastic about things to do in Detroit. Thanks!

    Dana2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • High-ceilinged loft, includes bicycles for local exploration and plenty of hot water in the shower! Right by the Canadian border, you can see Windsor out the window. Karen is prompt to answer queries and she sent us helpful tips before we got there to help prepare for the trip; there were also pamphlets about things to do and guides for Detroit in the apartment. There's a grocery store a short walk away that carries everything you could need or might have forgotten. Right by the Riverwalk and Belle Isle, perfect for walking or jogging.

    Leslie2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very unique and beautiful - giant windows, high ceilings, and wood everywhere. The host was very helpful and responsive. While we enjoyed our stay, it was unusually hot in Detroit that weekend and the air conditioning struggled to keep up. It's also a bit loud as you can hear everything from the neighbors above and noise from outside the apartment.

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.

    Thomas2016-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in this beautiful and well situated loft. Jesse was great to work with and communicated clearly. The cleaning and other fees added about $100 to our stay so consider that in addition to the base price. Lovely comfortable apartment and worth every penny.

    James2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 1-night stay at Jesse's place! It's as beautiful as pictured and spotlessly clean. Easy location for uber-ing around Detroit, and walkable to the DIA, which was what brought us to town. Jesse was super responsive to all questions and made our visit very easy. We didn't get to meet in person, but his next door neighbors were around and super friendly as well.

    Laura2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I had a good time at jesse's place. It was clean and comfortable. He has a good selection of vinyl and fun taste in furniture. Jesse was very welcoming and quick to respond to any messages. Jesse made a great recommendation for a place to eat upon my arrival and it was delicious! The location was great! Only a few miles from downtown. Great experience! Thanks Jesse

    Ryan2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse's loft is just as pictured! Very clean, quiet & comfortable. Jesse was very accessible by text when I had questions and because he didn't have renters coming the day we left he let us stay as long as we wanted. We really enjoyed sitting on his patio at night, enjoying a cocktail & warm summer breeze. I would definitely recommend this loft. Thanks Jesse!

    Lisa2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse was a great host and has a gorgeous loft in a wonderful New Center location. I would absolutely stay here again!

    Elyse2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse's apartment was perfect for exploring Detroit. The building is amazing, and everything looked exactly as it did in the pictures. The location is ideal for exploring the Cass Corridor and there's loads of space to park nearby.

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • I LOVE this place. Second time I've been there. I've stayed in several Detroit Airbnbs and this is the best ever. Very nice large clean space with a great aesthetic and a good location. Highly recommended.

    David2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The photos are accurate, it is an amazingly beautiful place. Cozy and modern furnishings. Creativity oozes everywhere. As do thoughtful touches such as a zentangle coloring book in the bedroom. Quiet neighborhood very close to midtown and Corktown where some of the best restaurants, cafes, and stores are. Nice that there is a lock box for keys so you can arrive anytime without worry of holding Zac and Renee up. Highly recommend! Just not when I am planning on being back in town ;)

    Clynton2016-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was exceptional! Stop looking and just stay here!!

    Hallie2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our weekend at Zac and Renee's beautiful apartment. It was clean, comfortable, and a quick drive to everywhere we wanted to go in Detroit. We would definitely stay again!

    Jen2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This home is beautiful. I would not hesitate to stay there again, or to teccommend it to others.

    Paulette2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Zac & Renee have a very beautiful apartment, in a nice quiet neighborhood walking distance from some great parts of town. I loved staying there and hope to again soon.

    Joanna2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. Airy, bright, clean, comfortable, stylish but not pretentious . I wouldn’t necessarily walk around at night here, but daytime was very comfortable. Close to shops and restaurants. Check in was simple. Hosts were very responsive. Great stay. We’d be psyched to come back.

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • Meghan's Corktown Inn is the perfect to stay while visiting Detroit. It is in a very trendy neighborhood, really close to Downtown. The apartment is large with a lot of open space and perfectly decorated. We highly recommend going to Slows BBQ and Astro coffee which are just downstairs. We would to go back and stay at Honor and Folly again. We highly recommend to anyone who is visiting Detroit.

    Aude2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is great, and so is the location. Roomy and clean and beautiful — highly recommended!

    Pierre-Alexandre2013-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Honor and Folly is my favorite place to stay, not just in Detroit, but of all the places I've stayed in cities in the U.S. It is adorable, functional, and Meghan is a fabulous host.

    Susie2016-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Meghan’s place is amazing, even better than pictured. I would recommend anyone stay here! It was a perfect place for a wonderful weekend in Detroit.

    Liz2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Meaghan's was fantastic. The apartment is everything advertised and more. A perfect spot to end an evening of good food and drinks.

    Mark 2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely stay. The Corktown area is up-and-coming, and this particular apartment is a kind of "pioneer" in the area's renaissance. The neighborhood is active but the apartment is quiet, in an urban sort of way. This is a beautifully designed restoration of an historic building, with innovative design features as well as carefully curated historical artifacts, from creative quilts to a plate of old keys (!) to lovely, haunting early American portraits. I was there alone on business, but would love to come back with my family...just to enjoy this special location. The host was extremely helpful in sending check-in and area information.

    Tod2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, young son, and I enjoyed our stay at Meghan's "Honor and Folly" on brick-lined Michigan Avenue in Corktown. The apartment is spacious (by New York City standards), clean, cozy, quiet and nicely appointed. We enjoyed the neighborhood and recommend venturing out by car to The Detroit Institute of Bagels, Pewabic Pottery, Belle Isle, Rose's Fine Food, Eastern Market, The Detroit Historical Museum, and Detroit Institute of Arts (be sure to catch a film in the beautiful theater).

    Jane2016-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED everything about Meghan’s place and Corktown and will absolutely stay there again!

    Jared2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • These lofts, y'all. They're somehow even more impressive and spacious and full of great light in person than in the photos. We were traveling in a pack of 12 friends and this space (+ the unit next door) was perfect for us to hang out, eat cake, listen to music, and nap between brunch and bars without bugging each other one bit. Sunsets from the roof, parties at the warehouse next door, snacks and drinks from the gas station across the street - I'm kinda bummed I'm not still there. And the hosts! So helpful and nice and ready to provide whatever we needed. Sleeping arrangements for such a big group could easily have been a nightmare, but they gave us easy options that turned out perfect. Added bonus: the beds are super comfortable and there's pretty good pressure in the showers.

    Rebecca2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, awesome instructions, and good amenities. Unfortunately, however, all marred by the wifi going out during our first night. I contacted the host several times through airbnb, text, and even by phone, but never received a response. The wifi was never fixed.

    Sam2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Better than staying in a hotel!!!! Very affordable you get more than what your paying for

    Mae2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle, Let me start off by saying how impressed my group was with the lofts. Both lofts H and J were clean, spacious and well lit. During our stay we entertained a large group of family members for an afternoon brunch, yet we never felt cramped. This place, in my opinion, is ideal for events of ALL SIZES. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I would recommend your place to all of my friends and colleagues. With warm regards, Julian

    Julian2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and close to downtown. The loft was clean and very nicely furnished. Would stay here again!

    Eric2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle was on point. Place was on point. Accommodating for sure.

    Jerome2016-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This loft was a great place to stay for a long weekend. Especially enjoyed the views from the roof balcony - and the endless vistas of the railroad tracks, old warehouses, and surrounding neighborhoods. Kyle was a communicative and friendly host, quick to reply with anything amiss -- but gave us plenty of room to make ourselves at home. The unit is large, well equipped with cooking supplies and plenty of towels and linens. Comfy, trendy, and just as pictured. Centrally located, we could get a Lyft in minutes to anywhere downtown for ~10$. A couple things to note : the loft is a large, open plan loft - if you are coming with other folks, know that you will hear everyone all the time as all rooms have open walls into the main space. Additionally, there are no curtains - so if you are a light sleeper, it might be best to pack a mask for your eyes, or simply be ready to wake with the sun and enjoy the early starts in Motor City. Lastly, there is a neat, eclectic event space across the alley - if you don't go an join in on the fun yourself, you might have a DJ playing tunes late into the night!

Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • Sarah's apartment was beautiful, well supplied, and in a great location. I really enjoyed walking around midtown. We didn't have the chance to meet, but she was quick to reply to my messages and I felt welcomed. Highly recommended.

  • Sarah's place was great. She could not meet us but facilitated our entry into the apartment. The apartment itself was beautiful and clean. The neighbourhood was great, conveniently located in Midtown and within walking distance to Woodward Avenue's shops and restaurants. We did not stay for very long but we slept very well and had no trouble checking out in the morning. My boyfriend and I would definitely stay here again!

  • Beautiful small and lovely apartment. Well situated, tastefully decorated, extremely comfy. Exactly as shown on the pictures. Sarah was quick to answer and very amiable. Keyless entry was perfect. Parking in front, close to restaurants and bars. Only wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Repeat guest so not much more to add to previous wonderful stay. Was in Detroit again for business and prefer to stay at this lovely Airbnb—clean, close to good restaurants and Whole Foods. Highly recommend!

  • The apartment was just perfect. Thank you

    Anne2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cons: Air conditioning sounds like a loud train engine that goes off every 5 mins all night long but you don't want to turn it off completely because then it's too hot The neighborhood is hip with cute restaurants and shops but it's still in transition with abandoned houses right next door The one recommended restaurant, Sheldon standard, is horribly overpriced and not particularly good (Chartruese is much better) The key combo isn't very cooperative The apartment door doesn't lock (but the gate and building door do Pros: The apartment has a private entrance and is very clean and stylishly simple tea bedding and towels and shampoo are provided

    Michala2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment and great location. This place had everything we have wanted. After long day around town to actually come home and be able to go for a walk and explore restaurants and bars...Amazing! This place felt like home.

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. Hamtramck also has some excellent Bengali, Indian, Iraqi and Yemeni food! • Matt and Meredith were super responsive and welcoming hosts. As regular visitors to Detroit we are always looking for something new and different. Prior to our arrival, Matt gave us the super local tips for restaurants and even hooked us up at a festival we didn't know about. And when we arrived, Meredith met us at the front, gave us a quick tour of their beautiful garden, walked us upstairs and had a bottle of wine for us. The apartment is just as pictured (beautiful, clean and roomy), but also with board games, tons of other amenities and a super comfortable bed. They had an air mattress for our daughter and the place *still* felt spacious and comfortable. We felt like we were staying with the most accommodating friends. We will definitely, be back, perhaps in the next month. We just hope it will be available!

  • Always a 5 star experience! We stay here every time we are in the Detroit area. It's so cozy, clean, well-stocked, spacious, and close to everything! It's perfect.

  • We loved our stay at Matt and Meredith's place in Hamtramck. It was beautiful and exactly as described. We wish we could have spent more time there as it was a unique part of town with many unusual shops and a very nice vibe.

  • Matthew and Meredith were incredibly kind and thoughtful hosts, really the best kind of Airbnb hosts you could ask for. They had plenty of local suggestions and very considerate touches throughout the apartment. The space itself is gorgeous, we would happily stay there again.

    Kent2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Will definitely stay here again. My pregnant wife and I stayed here 3 nights and it was like 100 degrees the whole time. The window air conditioner cooled the whole place. Very clean and great location. We dealt with Matt who was out of Country but made sure we were taken care of.

    Mark2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Matt & Meredith are amazing people. So much of the Airbnb experience depends on the host and these guys do not disappoint! Their place is perfect for a sole traveler or couple looking to discover all the wonderful aspects of Detroit. Matt & Meredith will help you find all the best ethnic food, craft beers, and fun places to checkout while you are in town. If you're considering a visit to Detroit, don't hesitate to book this place with Matt & Meredith.

  • A truly wonderful place to stay, and the neighborhood is full of kind interesting people! Getting anywhere in Detroit or the suburbs was easy and fast!

    Raffa2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was clean, organized and cared for. The upcycled apartment decor was on point. Always communicated well and greeted by the hosts. Great place !

This loft is a mix of the industrial beauty that Detroit has to offer along with modern decor from my travels. 5 minutes from Belle Isle & Downtown, on the Riverwalk and next to an upgraded park. Fully equipped, for up to four people. Close to Belle Isle, Comerica Park, Ford Field, Chene Park, Joe Louis Arena, Fox Theatre, the Masonic Temple, Cobo Hall, Detroit Institute of Arts, the Fillmore, Hart Plaza and Little Caesar's Arena.
The loft is a wide open space located near the heart of Downtown. Large windows allow for natural light to illuminate the loft during the day and my smart-lights allow for an array of colors at night, which can be controlled directly from your smartphone. Artwork and photos decorate the walls along with objects I've collected along my travels. The perfect place to come back to relax to after a crazy day in Detroit! New furniture, full closet and storage for clothing/luggage, work station, Xbox One with 2 controllers, Apple TV, DVD / Blue-ray player with 25+ DVDs & Netflix, surround sound system, decanter & wine set, plant life and a short guide for the best things to do while in Detroit. Very comfortable queen size bed to wake up to a view of Downtown in the morning; I definitely missed it while I was traveling through other Airbnb's!
The neighborhood is great. Right on the Detroit River with easy access to the heart of downtown, Belle Isle or the Dequindre Cut by way of walking, biking or by car. Adjacent to the building is a newly upgraded park to mark the start (or end) of the Riverwalk which has nice rolling greens to spend a Summer day on. There is a grocery store within walking distance.
  • Christopher was an amazing host, he was so helpful he answered my text messages in the middle of the night regarding questions I had. The property was very well-kept it, I personally loved all the unique artwork everywhere. The location is right on the water, perfect to watch the Sun. Very safe area parked my car on the street everyone I saw spoke to me and was extremely nice. I will be staying at Christopher's place again.

  • Amazing loft and overall experience with Chris!

    Amal2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Christopher’s place was perfect! My boyfriend and I enjoyed all of his homey art. It felt like a home away from home for the two of us. He has decadent taste & mood enhancing lighting. We felt relaxed and uplifted. He was very easy to get in contact with for all our questions and had very prompt response times. Our time there felt warm and euphoric. We loved his place!

    Franchesca2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a lovely experience staying at this loft. The energy in the loft was so calming and uplifting, similar to my experience with Christopher. The location was perfect. Downtown, the waterfront, and belle isle just a few minutes away. It will definitely be at the top of my list next time im taking a long weekend in detroit.

    Shianne2017-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • I was referred to Chris' home by a friend, and for great reason. Christopher was a very responsive, flexible host, with an amazingly comfortable, and upscale space. Every expectation we had for our stay was greatly surpassed. Anytime we thought of something that could make our stay better, we realized he already had it at his readily available in his home. He even has an app for controlling his lights, and a website outlining the specifics of his home, his direct contact information, options for what to do in the area, and a bunch of take out/delivery menus for restaurants nearby. The decor of the home was very nice and flawlessly fit together. Much care was taken when putting this space together. This same care is what Chris displays for ensuring his guest's comfort. The loft is located right off of the Detroit River Walk, giving you a great view of the Detroit River, Canada, and all the ships as they past by. Being so close to the River Walk, it's easy to go outside, get some exercise, and enjoy the view. There is plenty of readily available, safe parking, and all the other tenants in the building were very friendly to us. If you're visiting Detroit, I strongly suggest you stay at this hidden gem. Thanks Chris!

    Marc2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher's place is great and close to downtown. We were going to a Tigers game and this was only about 15 minutes away. There were 4 of us that stayed the night and we were comfortable but it does get tight if you have 4 or 5 people space wise. There are two air mattresses in addition to the bed and couch so plenty of space. This loft is great and has everything you need for your stay. Right near a park and the water. Would definitely stay again!

  • Great place, air conditioned, loved the architectural digest magazines! The other tenants in the building were really nice too! It's close to the tigers stadium/downtown, about a 10-15 min walk.

  • Rent the other place. (Website hidden by Airbnb) There was no doorman per listing.  It was a gross building and no proper buzzer let alone a doorman.  Total filth and reek in outer entryway. My extra "beds" were left outside when I was out to fill with air myself and make at 1am after arriving home.  This is despite repeated promise to deliver and set up. No linen for fold down bed or blanket was provided nor were any blankets for the 2 airbeds. We were inconvenienced and uncomfortable (cold) having to sleep dressed. Next day I asked for blankets and despite my repeated ask and his agreement none were delivered. Again this was totally unacceptable. We are four men all in our forties in town for an NFL game and obviously an easy target for him. Place was dirty. I asked for draino to be used in the tub as it was backing up suring quick shower. Again he said yes and never came through. Listing advertised 1.5 baths... not true and on check-in no mention of this not being the case. After looking texted and asked, only then did he say the .5 was closed for "maintenance" offering no apologies or anything. There was a broken window on main floor and resulted in a draft and smoke / noise from the hanger-outers on the street. Location was dreadful in a very dilapidated area of town. I could pick out more idiocy as it was everywhere but frankly my time is important. Used Airbnb several times and never anything like this. I'm sure he'll say I'm a liar but really why would I? Worst experience I've ever had.

Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors and pillars are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area 3-8 minute drive to Midtown, Eastern Market, Hamtramck and Downtown. 1 mile to Q line and very bike friendly as you can get to many places easily!
This industrial boho loft is clean, comfy and ideal for couples, larger groups, and individuals too. Great A/C New better WiFi Fully equipped kitchen Private entrance in the parking lot Sleeping arrangements: Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress Sofa- for 1 (not too tall) Twin bed Please select the amount of guests you will be so that I can provide bed sheets and towels accordingly.
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants ~ The loft is located in an old industrial and unique neighborhood. Many of the plots and buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens and music venues. The area is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eary to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • The space is great and it’s very quiet. Georgia was quick with her response even though I booked and checked in pretty late at night. It was warm and inviting and she makes you feel welcomed even though she isn’t there.

    Tammy2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia's lovely loft was the perfect place to stay for a weekend of fun and dance in Detroit! The place was exactly as described, and was clean and well stocked with towels, toiletries, and snacks. The loft is centrally located to get to many spots in the city within a short drive, but is also remote enough for a peaceful nights sleep. Would definitely recommend/stay again!

    David2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED staying at Georgia's place - we stayed there in March. Yes, it got very warm, even with the window cracked, and yes, the pipes made a lot of noise at a few points during the night, but we knew this ahead of time due to Georgia's extremely accurate and upfront description. The building is a converted factory in what used to be a bustling industrial area of Detroit -- I loved staying in a chunk of Detroit history! Like all of Detroit except Downtown/Cass Corridor, things are pretty spaced out since most of the other factories have closed up and left. Perhaps I'm biased because I used to live in Detroit (SW), but I felt super safe staying in this area. If you haven't been to Detroit before, keep in mind that it is gritty, and still in the very very beginning stages of a resurgence. If you can't handle that, then staying here (or anywhere outside of Greektown, really) is probably not for you. Georgia's place is super artsy -- I loved reading in the hammock, and it definitely felt like hanging out in a friend's apartment. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We enjoyed its proximity to Hamtramck, and would strongly recommend eating Yemen Cafe (get the Fahsah) and going to Bumbo's for pool and a drink if you stay here. I'll definitely plan on booking again the next time I head back to Detroit!

    Alexandra2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great! The apartment itself is really cool, and it has a nice private parking. The surrounding area is not that great, and not very walk-friendly. However if you Uber or have a car, it's not an issue since there are many nice places nearby.

    Alejandrina2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay for a night. Our host was amazing. If I ever go back to Detroit in the furture, i would definitely come back and stay here again. It felt so homey and chill.

    Casey2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Georgia was very responsive and kind. Everything was as we expected. The The loft was nice, clean, and the check-in was incredibly easy. We would definitely return!

    Brittany2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia’s place was wonderful! The special instructions were greatly appreciated and the check in was super simple. Location was perfect, close to town but secluded and quiet. And the interior was soo fun and eclectic! Loved it! Will definitely be staying next time I stop in Detroit!

    Jacqueline2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is adorable. There are plenty of included sleeping surfaces, and also plenty of floor space for an extra air mattress if you have one. The directions for check in were very clear and our arrival and departure went very smoothly! It's only a ten minute car ride to the downtown area and parking at the loft was very easy. Exactly what we needed for a nights stay in Detroit!

Industrial studio loft in Corktown close to downtown, Cobo Center, coffee shops, bars, restaurants, brekky spots, the Detroit River, shopping, and accessible to everything else amazing in Detroit. Perfect spot for a weekend getaway or a romantic retreat. Lots of natural light and a dazzling view of downtown Detroit at night. I hope you will fall in love with Detroit as I have from this perfect nest in the heart of the city. ❤️
This loft is open, beautiful, and filled with natural light. This an open concept studio with a super comfy king sized bed, a full kitchen, and an enclosed bath with a tub and shower. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics (e.g., Aeropress, kettle, coffee maker) and I have some coffee and tea for your mornings. If you are more than two, I have a queen air mattress, a sectional, and an additional sofa that can sleep three individuals in the studio space shared with the bed. Corktown is amazing! It is home to the city's most eclectic coffee shops, bars, restaurants, breweries, record shops, cutest retail spots, and secondhand shops. Most are a 10-15-min walk or 5-min car ride away. The loft is also super close to downtown, all festivals (e.g., Movement, MoPop) and the Cobo Center (10-15 min walk); The Renaissance Center (RenCen, 6-min drive/27-min walk); and Hart Plaza is a 4-min drive/23-min walk past Rosa Park's old condo and the Detroit Riverwalk (a site of the Underground Railroad).
  • This place is awesome! Authentic loft living in a safe convenient location. The loft is very large and would be much more expensive anywhere else. I will stay here again on my next visit to Detroit. My wife and I were on a 21 day trip across the USA and this was by far the best airBnb place we stayed at!

    Oscar2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • It was great to place to stay. I wish there were curtains on the windows. We had light 24/7. The upstairs neighbors were noisy every night until about 1-2 am. We could hear there loud stereo and bass but everything else was great.

  • If you are looking for a loft close to downtown Detroit, try this one. Very clean and comfortable and priced properly. Danielle is nice and attentive to any needs.

  • We had a great time at Danielle’s loft! The space was beautiful and close to downtown / corktown. Danielle had some great recommendations and was friendly and responsive during our stay. Would definitely recommend this place.

    Sean2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle is an incredible host. I'd definitely recommend this spot. Extremely responsive, lots of (solid) local recommendations. The loft is huge, and so beautiful. Lots of thoughtful touches. The unit is very clean and exactly as described. This is true of the entire posting. As pointed out--the building is a bit older and the hallways are meh Yes, you can hear the neighbors, but I had no problem as they were quiet and polite. Ample free parking, great neighborhood spots and I ran on the lake path every day. Book it!

    Maria2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle's loft is such a great space. The pictures are very accurate, and it it was even cooler than I expected. Very spacious and wide open. It is also extremely clean and well maintained. Others have commented on the thin walls (they are), but I never found the neighbors to be too loud, and this was over a weekend. Checkin and checkout were very easy, and her and Anna are very quick to respond and offer great local recommendations. Corktown is a great neighborhood with great restaurants some cool bars. The loft is located in far southern part of Corktown, so a 10-20 minute walk to the cooler parts of the neighborhood. Cork Town is great though! Downtown is also very walkable from the lof. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants to spend a few days in Detroit, and I would stay here again.

Hello! Our home is an 1890 Victorian mansion that we purchased in 2012 and lovingly renovated over three years using a team of local craftspeople and myself. This space is a quirky 1 bedroom, 1 bath garden level loft with much of its original character preserved. Located in the heart of Midtown just one block from 15+ bars and restaurants, DMC, Shinola and way more. The space is designed with leisure stays in mind but also capable of accommodating business travelers comfortably. Parking included
The space features a custom cherry old-growth wood bar along with handbuilt cherry countertops. The bathroom has its own interesting character equipped with the biggest shower I've ever installed as a builder. The apartment is stocked with coffee, has an Apple TV and high-speed WiFi and dart board. The space is equipped with a modern heating system and natural cooling from the original stone walls. It’s very comfortable year round.
Midtown is an exploding, vibrant neighborhood in the center of Detroit. There are so many fantastic bars, shopping opportunities, museums and restaurants within walking distance. The Wayne State Police is highly active and patrols Midtown 24/7 with a fast response rate making Midtown the safest neighborhood in Detroit and one of the safest university campuses in the nation.
  • By far the most unique Airbnb we've stayed in so far. Super neat place!

    Lindsay2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kelsey's apartment was fantastic! Very clean and rustic. The exposed brick is gorgeous and the shower is even nicer in person. The sink is an old Victrola! The bed was comfy and had clean sheets. We used the kitchen to cook a few meals and it was fantastic as well. Definitely worth a stay!

    Anthony2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, central and close to everything. Kelsey was an excellent host and we will definitely be using her unit on our future trips. Very easy to communicate with her. We were blown away with the uniqueness of the space and all the beautiful details she put into it. Recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and comfortable space.

  • This was my second stay here so I knew exactly what I was getting into, and for a two-day trip it was just perfect: space to relax, to get some work done, spread out a little, get comfortable, and easy access to some of my favorite Detroit spots. Despite being a basement apartment, the light is great and there's a lot of privacy, and the kitchen is wonderful. Everything was super clean, the chairs are really comfortable, and wonder of wonders, the floor was warm and fine to walk on barefoot. This spot is really a gem.

    Penny2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Just a really cool place with a steel-tip dartboard. Place is bigger than the pictures lead you to believe.

    Edward2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend this space to anyone that is in town to be close to breweries and coffee shops, the art museum, and other cultural amenities. The apartment itself is clean and cozy. It's a great spot!

    Nick2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Kelsey has the most wonderful garden level apartment. Solid kitchen and a gorgeous bathroom! Totally would stay again! Beware the floor heat if you're cold don't crank it all the way up you'll regret it in no time fast!

    Eric2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very cool and in a great location. Also, Kelsey is super easy to make arrangements with.

Sunny, welcoming one bedroom apartment located right in the middle of Midtown. Includes parking! Tucked in a 2nd floor corner of a historic building the space has an updated kitchen and bathroom. Fits two in bedroom and one (or two snugly) on couch in living room. Convenient location just blocks away from the Q-Line, shops, restaurants, museums and less than 5 minutes from downtown. Visit Detroit and explore the midtown neighborhood with this cozy space as your starting point.
This is a lovely, bright corner apartment located on the 2nd floor of a 1920’s building in Midtown, Detroit. The apartment itself is efficient in size overall with a large living area. Original wood floors have been refinished and the kitchen and bathroom have been updated. Many original elements remain including a decorative fireplace in the bedroom. Wifi is available in the apartment and I have a TV set up with Hulu and Netflix. One parking space in the front driveway is included in your stay!
The Midtown neighborhood is one of the most active in Detroit with new shops, restaurants and activities just a few steps out the door.
  • Lovely place!

  • This was me and my husband's first Airbnb experience, and he has already said he's sold! Morgan was great; everything was clearly communicated and she was very responsive. The apartment was incredibly clean, neat, and had great character. We were able to make dinner and enjoy a night relaxing. You'll feel comfortable and will enjoy the atmosphere.

  • Morgan’s place was beautiful! Very well curated and clean, it was the perfect place to stay for a night in Detroit.

  • Me and my sister stayed here before the Pistons game, and we loved it! it was so cozy and cute. We would definitely stay here again, probably soon. Morgan was an awesome host she went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. So glad we stayed here instead of a hotel. ❤️ Kim

  • The apartment is fantastic. Perfectly decorated and a short walk away from a great market and a solid selection of bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. Also, Morgan was super quick to respond once I booked. Great place!

    Sy2018-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish, clean and comfortable apartment in a great location for visiting the DIA. Morgan was prompt in communicating and helpful. We ate well in the surrounding restaurants. Only negative was that a couple of the lights weren't working. I'd stay here again for sure.

    Will2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous space in a very cool and safe neighborhood. Free parking was awesome! It was definitely very warm in the space, and when we had to go to bed with the windows open to cool it off, the noise of the city would have made it difficult to sleep but I brought earplugs after reading the other reviews so it didn't detract from our visit. Morgan was very responsive and even suggested a couple great restaurants that we enjoyed.

Few minutes to Caesar's Casino and downtown You are a few minutes ' walk of the Detroit Riverside Park。 My listings close to nightlife, public transport, suitable for family activities. Because of location, landscape, and you will fall in love with my listings. My houses are ideal for couples, solo travelers adventure, business travellers, families with young children.
The house is composed of four old Winsor apartments, located in a very quiet old quarter. Between the four apartments is very independent. The house is a bit old but beautiful, and you live in a house that will make you feel back to the past of Winsor.
You live in this house, you will be very surprised. Close to the bar and a few minutes to the city center. Going out is shops, groceries and restaurants. Block bus, a minute is the station. The most important thing is to get through the Detroit Tunnel. 5 minutes' walk to the casino and Detroit riverside park.
  • Very comfortable place to stay. Well-appointed kitchen, which was stocked (!) with enough food to make breakfast for three--an unexpected surprise. Easy walk or drive to downtown Windsor or Detroit.

  • Great stay - clean, lovely decor, easy check in, good parking. TV was a bit tricky to figure out (mostly in Chinese, only one channel in English) but we found the Netflix app and were able to log into our account, which was perfect. Would definitely stay again!

This beautiful and spacious apartment is the entire first floor of a two floor duplex in a historic home conveniently located in the heart of Corktown. Unit has a private entrance, large bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom.
  • Michelle laid everything out for us really well, we knew what to expect even before we got there. The home is very well decorated and it looks like it is used as a home when no one is staying there. There is a ton of space, a nice kitchen for cooking, and lots for hanging out. A great dinning room table to play games around, too! The bed is a full size, but quite comfortable. Wish we could have explored more around the area, it looked like a neat area.

    Suze2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Great eclectic decor in antique house. House will creak and walls thins but we felt that added a additional element of fun to our stay. Upstairs neighbors moved during our stay so noise level was a bit higher than probably usual. Liked place overall!

    Hershey2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Walking distance to some great places in Corktown.

    Lance2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s place was great! Close by to some historic spots in Corktown, with downtown easily accessible from the neighborhood. Her home has charm and character, and her personal touches ensure that her guests have a fantastic experience!

  • Michelle made our arrival very smooth and provided an excellent set of recommendations. She was very available whenever we needed her and her response time to questions was very prompt. Her place was beautiful and very well organised and we were very comfortable staying there. The neighbourhood was very quiet but close to many great things in the area. We had to opportunity to have a longer conversation with Michelle the day after we stayed and she was so lovely and great to talk to, we wish we could have stayed longer! Would absolutely recommend her place and we'll be checking the availability when we come back.

    Chloe2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place was awesome. The neighborhood was great and very safe. It was a short walk to the bars and the event we were attending. Everything was clean and we loved the vintage feel.

One of the most beautiful homes on Airbnb. This is a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom historic home in one of the most beautiful, one of a kind neighborhood of Detroit. Woodbridge is in Midtown, and a mile from most of Detroit's finest sights, art, and stadiums. My wife and I are in Greece for at least six months helping refugees and your stay is our only revenue keeping us there. Thank you! Note on Cleaning Fee: There is a group that help maintain the place. It goes to them to support a living wage.
This is a great 4000 sq/ft three story single family home. Very spacious with tons of light. All the bedrooms have great closet space and two rooms have en suite full baths.
Woodbridge is one of the most beautiful areas of Detroit. Within 1-2 miles of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Whole Foods, Eastern Market, Downtown, Wayne State. Comerica Park, Ford Field, Masonic Temple, Fox Theater, Corktown. Detroit safety and emptiness comes up often. This house is in the safest part of Detroit. We are the only area that is patrolled by three police departments due to Wayne State University and the variety of medical centers near by. Many are thrown off by the current state of Detroit. There are amazing small "islands" of great neighborhoods throughout the city, but a lot of emptiness, grafitti, and development between all of them. You can't escape it if you are staying in Detroit. It's the nature of our city. This house is in one of the safest and most quiet neighborhoods in all of Detroit. We are only a mile from city center and most attractions. My reviews tend to be all 5 stars except sometimes we fall short in "location". I attribute this to guests being unfamiliar with Detroit, so I am trying to give a more detailed background of the nature of our city.
  • The place was exactly as advertised! Great space, huge and very nice. George was super flexible in getting us in there. The amenities are perfect. Great location, close to everything. There was a print out of all the local restaurants, bars etc waiting for us. We picked up Slow's to go, as per the recommendation, and it was excellent! When we are back in the city, we will stay here for sure!

    Tom2014-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • George's place is wonderful. I had to make a last-minute trip to visit family and he was gracious about getting the place ready with little notice. The location was perfect: near downtown in a beautiful neighborhood that is up and coming. I can't wait to stay there again!

    Howard2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying here and I highly recommend this place. There was enough space for my family and the location was not far from the places we had to go. This will be our number one place to stay in Detroit when we visit our family.

    Kim2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great - perfect - very large and reasonably priced and near everything worth seeing in Detroit.

    Dennis2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house was awesome. As beautiful as shown in the pictures. George was very helpful and tasty treats were presented in the kitchen (Thanks, George!). Very spacious, bed was super comfortable, bathrooms were great. Easy parking in front. Close to bars and restaurants. George provided a nice list of places to see, bars, coffee shops, and other suggestions. I checked out a few of them and was not disappointed. Detroit gets a undeserved bad rap. But staying in Woodbridge at George's beautiful place, and being in close to proximity to fun stuff, definitely made me a believer in the city. I would definitely stay here again if I get the chance.

    Som2014-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Charming house. George was excellent host, very responsive.

  • Wow. What a beautiful home. And i mean capital H-ome. I Immediately felt relaxed and at ease as soon as i walked thru the door. Very specious place for the 4 of us, clean and inviting. Its great to walk up and down the street and meet the people who are putting pride into these architectural masterpieces. If you want to not only stay in a wonderful warm and relaxing home but also feel the exciting and hopeful energy of neighborhood restoration , then by all means book this place fast. We all loved it. Enjoy and explore the quaint but up-and-coming neighborhood of West Village Detroit. This cozy apartment is just steps away from new shops and restaurants like Sister Pie, Craft Work and Red Hook Coffee. With it’s historic elements in tact, wood floors, and antique charm the space has a subtle and sophisticated feel and was furnished with this in mind. The original murphy bed folds down in the living room and a custom made kitchen bar top folds up for extra guest accommodations.
The West Village neighborhood is a lovely up and coming area of Detroit. While it's still easiest to get around Detroit by car there are some great restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you'd like any recommendations just send me a message. We are also right next to Indian Village, a neighborhood with beautiful houses built in the early 1900s. Overall, the neighborhood is very walkable and friendly.
  • Morgans apartment is simply beautiful! I would recommend this spot to anybody looking for a cozy, clean getaway in Detroit. Morgan was super quick to respond to all questions and the apartment is clean, well decorated and located in a great spot. We had a great dinner at Craft Work a few steps from the apartment as well as great coffee next door. Thanks for a great stay Morgan!

    Reese2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan was an amazing host! Crystal-clear communication, timely responses, and the apartment was so fresh and clean when we walked in. Both of us forgot to pack shampoo, and we were relived to see some shampoo available in the shower and one of the closets. All bedding and towels were freshly laundered and the floor was spotless. The neighborhood was surprisingly pretty calm and we had no worries about leaving our car out on the street. No noise issues from the other apartment building neighbors either. All in all, this place is amazing and I cannot recommend it and Morgan’s friendly hospitality enough!

    Rebeka2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved this place! The perfect place to stay while enjoying the west village ❤️

  • This listing is absolutely lovely! The coffee shop and bar down the street are great to have nearby and the kitchen in the apt was so nice to have for our weekend stay. Everything about the apt has a cool vintage charm to it. Morgan was the easiest to talk with over Airbnb messages. We’d happily stay here again!

  • Morgan's place is super charming and in close proximity to a few amazing food options - Sister Pie, La Boheme, Red Hook, etc. Great communication, adorable and cozy apartment, overall an excellent stay! Thanks Morgan!

  • The host was incredibly kind and helpful. As two people who came to Detroit for our first time, it was so nice to have a few recommendations from a local! The place was very cute. We loved the classic decor and the kitchen mods. Anyone who stays: go to La Bohème cafe around the corner! Beautiful little spot with great food, coffee, and desserts.

My Studio is a few minute drive/Uber to downtown Royal Oak & Ferndale -Mark Ridley's Comedy Club, Go! Comedy Improv, Magic Bag, Rust Belt Market & 10 minutes to downtown Detroit- Casinos, LCA, Comerica Park...You’ll love my studio because of the coziness, amenities & unique decor -but most of all the proximity to the best eating, shopping, nightlife & entertainment. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, & pets. If unavailable look for Charming Studio #2 on Airbnb.
My place is walking distance to both downtown Royal and Ferndale, also minutes drive to downtown Detroit. You'll love my place because of the coziness, light, comfy bed/amenities but most of all the proximity to the best eating, shopping, nightlife & entertainment. Quaint decor and an overall "homey" feeling, with a touch of artistic flair, in a central location that offers great access to metro Detroit's most active neighborhoods.
I love getting brunch at Toast, then strolling through the Rust Belt Market, and grabbing a cup of coffee afterwards at Atomic in Royal Oak. Most weekends you can find me at one of the local festivals going on in Royal Oak or Ferndale and/or hanging out at either Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle or the Go! Comedy Improv to catch a show and laugh it up. Great proximity to casinos & clubs if partying downtown, a ton of amazing pubs & farm-to-table style restaurants and other such "foodie's" delights, as well as any sports fans attending home games at Comerica Park, Ford Field, & the new Little Caesars Arena!
  • 'Charming studio' is a very good description of the space, it's right next to a big open park area and I did walk to Ferndale and Royal Oak, not on the same day, both of which are appealing in their own way. It's a great location for exploring the area as there's nearby freeway access going any direction. I would definitely stay there again.

Just be warned it gets a little confusing finding her place at first! I had trouble with the keycode, and called her and was able to resolve the issue right away. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Detroit.

  • Great location, easy to find, very comfortable

    Allison2018-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was nice overall but there were a few things about it that didn't make it right for me. Number one, the internet wasn't very good. It constantly cut in and out. So, if you need internet during your stay, I'd recommend using a hotspot. Number 2, the bed was about a foot from the wall with no headboard. I had to chase my pillows all night. Number 3, the curtains were really sheer which gave me no sense of privacy and let a lot of light in in the morning. That being said, it was very clean and covered all of my basic needs. It was easy to get to and close to what we needed.

Clean, stylish space - ideal for a single traveler or a couple exploring Detroit! Corktown is a cozy, quiet and friendly neighborhood and our historic home is located just a few minutes away from the best bars, restaurants and coffee shop in the city. Our charming cottage built in 1900 has original wood floors and exposed beams, a queen sized bed, all new appliances and a large backyard with a view of downtown - giving you a true feeling of a home away from home.
Guests have access to the entire cottage and spacious backyard.
Our cottage is in the oldest established neighborhood in Detroit. It’s a super friendly community and is very walkable with lots of bars and restaurants nearby.

Trendy, unique, & upscale apartment with absolutely no expense spared! Sits atop a privately owned, newly restored, multi-million $ building. All decor is from Restoration Hardware, creating a classy, high-tech, & luxurious travel experience. Minutes from the heart of downtown & stadiums, one block from famous restaurants: Slow's BBQ & Takoi, as well as craft cocktail bar, Sugar House & Two James Distillery. Great, safe location to explore the city & have fun. Perfect for couples/groups/events.
Located in the old Bullock Green Hardware building, a local architect with an incredible eye for detail sunk $1m+ into the rehab and decoration of the commercial building, converting it into unique living spaces. The building consists of 4 separate units: 1 massive master unit takes up the entire 1st floor, and 3 separate units that have private access are located on the 2nd floor. This unit is one of those 3. Exposed brick, accompanied with state of the art electronics and modern fixtures makes this a very unique and desirable property.
Corktown is the oldest surviving neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. Corktown derives its name from the Irish immigrants who settled there. Very safe, friendly area with plenty of bars, restaurants, distilleries within walking distance. The road consists of cobblestone, which gives it the cool, nolstalgic feel. Very close to I-75 & M-10.
  • Everything was perfect! Carson was always quick to reply & helpful! The space was really nice and the shower was amazing

  • Clean, safe, and secure parking at a great location in Corktown.

    Ken2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Overall the stay was nice. The location is just a block from popular corktown area. We did have trouble with the doors, including one time where the external door to the building locked us in and we could not get out, it ended up being something with the buzzer upstairs which we didn’t know anything about. The place is very cool and updated. I would say my only issue were there were no supplies in the kitchen, such as a pan or even baking sheet. We wanted to make nachos and didn’t think to bring our own. Cason was very responsive and even worked with my friend to help them get in early! Overal, I would recommend but I would suggest asking about the door locks ahead of time to avoid getting locked in.

  • Very spacious and nicely decorated. David is a very conscientious host! He thought of every little detail and communicated quickly and accurately. This is close to downtown without being too close. We happened to be there while there were protestors at the Immigration office but it did not affect our ability to check in or come and go from the loft. This is great guy place...but my three teenage girls liked it too!

    Lisa2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a good experience, the place is not far from downtown or any of the arenas. David gave a good tip on getting an uber to avoid traffic stress and frustration as well as parking fees for the arena and it was an awesome idea. I can see myself reserving this for my next stay in Detriot

    Ivan2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • David was more than helpful, he bent over backwards to help me make sure the loft was perfect for the party I was having there. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The loft is great and has a lot of unique character to it. Thanks you so much David for the amazing experience.

  • This is a fantastic place to stay, it is close enough to downtown for a $6.00 UBER ride but far enough away for you to sleep soundly (very quiet area). David was flexible with our check in time, he gave us a tour of the place when we got there and had everything set up for us including a fridge stocked with water and toiletries for us in the bathroom. On top of that the decor of the Apartment is exactly as pictured, modern and open. I would recommend this airbnb to any couples or people looking to check out the nightlife in Detroit. 11/10

    Jami2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • David and Ariyana were great hosts and the loft was AMAZING! They had everything we needed and it was a very comfortable fit for the 6 of us. Perfect for our birthday weekend downtown, would definitely stay here again.

Located in the heart of Hamtramck, a melting pot city/neighborhood surrounded by Detroit, this cozy 1 bedroom apartment is seconds away from restaurants, bars and markets and a few minutes drive away from all Detroit has to offer. Whitewashed plywood floors, wood paneling and curated mid century furniture accented with a collection of patterned rugs and art give this place a comfortable, laid back vibe. There's even a secret loft tucked away in the living room!
Enjoy the only Surf Shack in Detroit! While we might not be on or near a body of water, this laid back spot is a great jump-off spot for your next adventure. lt's a wonderful one bedroom one bathroom midcentury apartment in a quiet 4 unit building on Hamtramck's main drag. A quaint Coney Island sits at the base of the entrance, a great diner for coffee and breakfast. Inside, we have furnished the surf shack with unique vintage furniture and art. It's a quiet oasis surrounded by city excitement.
Hamtramck is a city/neighborhood located inside of the city of Detroit. It is a cultural melting pot stocked with a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, bars and boutiques just footsteps from the Shack. Just 1 mile off the main highway, it is easily accessible to the airport, Detroit, and the surrounding burbs. The neighborhood is richly diverse and celebrated. Food: Hamtramck Coney Island, Polish Village, Revolver, Fat Salmon Sushi, Buddy’s Pizza, Polonia Restaurant, Aladdin's Sweets and Café Fun: Fowling Warehouse, DCFC Soccer Field Coffee: Oloman Café, Café 1923 Night Life: Bumbos Bar, Kelly’s, Whisky In The Jar, Smalls, Suzy’s Bar, Painted Lady, Paychecks, the Polka Dot, and more!
  • We had such a great time! Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy Hamtramck!

    Phil2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan's surf shack is a fine place to stay and I would highly recommend it. Clean, quiet and safe plus right above ( though you would not know it ) a dynamite breakfast place.

    Jerry2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan had great communication. The location was close to Downtown and entertainment. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this place!

    Angelica2017-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan's surf shack lives up to it's name. Be sure to stop by a record store to use her record player! The bed in the storage spot is also key. You can have two guests or more sleep comfortably. Parking is very easy, Morgan is super responsive, and the neighborhood is safe to walk around during the wee hours. Hamtramck is absolutely a must if you love local dives or want to be out of the hipster business, see the real city, etc. You're ~10 minutes outside downtown and traffic is not an issue. Expect a wealth of Polish and Arabic food, walkability, and a small town feel. Be sure to grab yourself some foul (mashed fava beans with naan-style bread) for breakfast from Yemen Cafe. As someone who's spent time in the Middle East, that dish is nearly impossible to find stateside and they make it to perfection. There isn't a negative thing I could say about the area, Morgan, or her tidy cute place. Stay in Hamtramck and enjoy!

    Nick2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great place with stylish details and an amazing vibe. We were 4 people and the couch is big enough to sleep on. We had a great stay.

    Adrian2018-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is super rad. I love the combo between old style and updated remodeling. Hamtramck is a great spot to hang out in. Really, try the macaroons downstairs! The hum from the building was a little intense for me because I’m ultra sensitive but it’s not humming all the time thankfully.

    Laura2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean place. Clear communication made check in easy. Charming thematic interior design.

    Jordan2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan’s place is great. Check-in was smooth. The apartment is unique and cozy. Everything es perfectly clean. The bed was comfortable and I really enjoyed the location. There’s lots of great food nearby.

The most important thing is to get through the Detroit Tunnel. 5 minutes' walk to the casino and Detroit riverside park. The water heater is a bit noisy.
  • We stayed 1 night. Was very clean and close to downtown so we walked. Communication with the owner was fast and easy. Don't let the neighborhood throw you off. We will definitely rent again if in Windsor and if available.

  • A cute and stylish little apartment within walking distance from shopping, food and drink! The bed and sofa were very comfortable and it was nice to have coffee available upon arrival. The home doesn’t have its own temp control which wasn’t great as it was chilly, and it doesn’t have cable. There was a Netflix account attached but was always maxed out on users, which was a bit of a let down during our down time. Overall it was a great value.

A cozy studio in historic Corktown neighborhood. Very private, easy walking distance to venues on Michigan Ave. There is a CA king bed, full bath, kitchenette, off-street parking with a well-lit private entrance from the street behind our house.
The studio is really convenient for multiple night stays. Very private. There is a small, equipped kitchenette with a two burner stove, fridge, microwave and toaster. There is an iron, also a TV with Blu-ray and a variety of DVDs.
We are located in a quiet neighborhood just steps from nationally recognized restaurants ( Slow's BBQ, Gold Cash Gold, The Mercury Bar, Ottava Via, Takoi) bars (Sugar House, PJ's, Nemos), 2 breweries (Batch and Brew) and Two James Distillery. Downtown, Midtown, the Cultural Center are close by. If you are going to the 'burbs, we have easy access to many freeways. There is a bagel shop--The Detroit Institute of Bagels; a favorite deli--Mudgies; and a great place for breakfast--Brooklyn Street Local. We have Bucharest Grill, The MotorCityWine Bar, Huron Room and close to many excellent Mexican and Hispanic restaurants. Eastern Market and the Motown Museum are nearby. And then there is Midtown and downtown. The Cultural Center offers the Detroit Institute of Arts, The Michigan Science Center, The Detroit Historical Museum and The Wright Museum plus a variety of art galleries, Wayne State University and restaurants. Oh my--I do go on. Come and explore.
  • Phenomenal experience! John and Barbara went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Really enjoyed the apartment, everything is as it appears in the description and pictures. John even offered to give us a ride to the Joe Louis area and provided a nice tour of the corktown area! Would recommend anyone to stay here!

    Ryan2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Barbara and John's great studio! They were very responsive and accommodating! The studio is very clean, with great art, and lots of special touches you don't always find. The sheets and towels are comfortable high quality, and Barbara has everything you might forget...from cosmetics to milk and snacks. Great place, we will always stay here if it's open! Thanks for the hospitality!!

  • Such a great little hidden hide away. Perfect for couple's. Close to many restaurants on Michigan Ave. We recommend making dinner reservations early. The loft is very comfortable, lots of little touches and amenities. My only regret is that we didn't stay Abit longer.

  • Great spot! Cute, clean, comfortable, cozy. Fridge had some beverages in it and the bathroom had everything you could need. Hosts were super friendly and helpful and accommodating. Walking distance to downtown and Corktown, too. Would definitely stay again.

  • One word: WOW. This place is incredible. I can't find anything bad to say about the listing or the hosts. Fabulous stay in Detroit.

    Brandon2016-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at a lot of B&B's on this app and ones I happen to find. This honestly was one of the best. They thought of everything! The place is clean, homey, safe, and close to all the fun stuff!! I wish I could've taken the space with me when I left. Barbara and John were picture perfect hosts, always being there if needed but never hovering. When I come to Detroit I'll definitely be back.

    Alora2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara and John were positively wonderful hosts and the photos of the space accurately depicted the beauty of the studio. Barbara and John went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and at home in their studio space during our time in Detroit. We followed through with as many of their recommendations as time allowed and every place they described lived up to expectation. Overall, our visit to Detroit would have been no where close to as enjoyable had we not been hosted by Barbara and John. We will definitely be planning to re-visit Detroit and look forward to staying in John and Barbara's beautiful space again!

    Ankush2016-08-01T00:00:00Z

  • Connie really is a superhost! She had thought of everything and that made my stay, though it was brief, very pleasant. I was particularly appreciative of the post-its telling me where everything was! She provided brochures and guidebooks that enabled us to plan what we could see and do with our limited stay. Her place is also on a main route for people who may not drive but want to get down town with the least fuss possible. It's also close enough to the highway to be able to access it without trouble. I would certainly plan for staying at Connie's place again if it is available on my next trip. Hopefully the roadwork will be done by then.

    Diane2015-08-17T00:00:00Z

  • We had a great time staying at Connies. The apartment was just as cute as pictured and the ability to not have to park on the street was so nice. We loved getting to explore around Midtown and would certainly stay in the area again when we go back.

  • Alissa made our stay easy, comfortable, and pleasant. It was great to be within walking distance of the art and history museums - I would recommend both. The apartment is spacious and cozy. Alissa has an eye for detail in both the design of the space and the little extras that help guests feel at home.

  • Great location for seeing Detroit. Centrally located & very comfortable.

    Amna2015-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Connie's listing was very comfortable, and staying here, it's obvious that she has put a lot of effort into ensuring that her guests have a fun and comfortable stay. From well-thought-out local suggestions, to easy-to-follow checkin and checkout procedures, to an eclectic collection of books, music, and art, Connie clearly has put a lot of care into this lovely unit. The location and building are also excellent, as you're just steps from the DIA and other museums, as well as right on the (not yet completed) Woodward streetcar. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a relaxing and intellectually stimulating visit to the motor city.

  • I had an excellent week at 480 Louis Ave! This unit is well up-kept and offers great space and amenities to its guests. I stayed there by myself but would definitely be comfortable with four other guests. The unit is very true to its ad; it is nicely furnished and very well lit. Shiyun was a great host; he was very quick to respond to any questions and effectively coordinated key exchange. Given the opportunity, I would definitely elect to stay in one of his Airbnb units again!

Adventurers welcome! Stay here & help fund our renovation work as we bring this abandoned 20's mansion back to life! House is RUSTIC & a WORK IN PROGRESS. Private room is restored with original features. Lockable Room Door, King bed with Foam Mattress, Mini Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker. Shared bathroom, kitchen & common area. We host other travelers too so expect community vibe! 5-15 mins bike to most top attractions. Perfect for biking explorers.
This spacious private room is restored to its original state and comfortably furnished. It has a nice king memory foam bed (Size: 76 in x 80 in). The room also comes with convenient amenities like coffee maker, microwave and a mini fridge. The room door is lockable. We currently have 3 bathrooms shared in the house. Since other travelers and our international volunteers helping us will be staying under the same roof and sharing the same bathroom / kitchen / lounge, the space will have a strong community vibe. Expect to meet cool people from all around. We’ve made lots of friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared environment and we love it. :) With that being said, if you require more privacy, this is probably not the best place for you but most guests see it as a great way to meet people and embrace the community vibe as part of the adventure.
Our house is just up from Belle Isle on the same street! We're close to Eastern Market to our north west and West Village / Indian Village to our south east. Straight shot over to Downtown / Midtown and most top attractions are within 3 miles. A lot of homes in this area are being revitalized right now but there are still a lot of work to be done and you'll probably see some blighted houses nearby. If you want some more info about neighborhoods or places to check out please let us know! We have an extensive travel guide we put together for our guests.
  • Really nice and clean place

  • I wouldn’t stay here again. The smell was awful, it wasn’t clean, and I felt like I couldn’t go anywhere in the house alone. It was not a good experience and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Yes, it’s cheap, but it’s not worth it.

  • Well, I guess it’s true that you get what you pay for. This listing was very deceiving however. The room was not as nice as the pictures, but worst, the entire house had a terrible smell of urine or something. Pretty gross. But if you’re looking for a really cheap roof over your head, it works.

  • Great space for an affordable price!

It is close to Grosse Pointe, and most Detroit destinations are quickly reached by freeway.
The Duck 'N' Roll Inn has been a home to journalists, documentary filmmakers, artists, performers, urban planners and explorers, and this year, a temporary home for families reuniting. It's been a joy to teach the kids about the ducks! The "Duck 'N' Roll Inn" is an eclectic farmhouse on an urban duck farm, officially known as Laid In Detroit. The farm provides pasture raised duck eggs to Rock City Eatery, as well as local residents. Located in the easy-going east side, Laid In Detroit was voted "Best Inner City Duck Farm" by the staff of the Metro Times. Though it's not so much an "inner city" vibe as it is a laid back oasis amongst urban sprawl. It encompasses 4 city lots full of trees and garden, The house has 3 bedrooms--a nautical room, and kid friendly room, and a spacious bedroom known as "the disco room," which features a large skylight, a woodburning stove, enormous chalk boards, and a sound system with a disco ball so that it doubles as a dance floor! There is one full bath with an extra wide jacuzzi tub, as well as a half bath on the first floor. The property also features a steel bbq in the form of a dinosaur, an adobe pizza oven on site, as well as panoramic views of the gardens and the ducks frolicking in the pasture. We have a new addition to the farm! Meg, the livestock guardian dog is keeping us safe from predators and prowlers. Great Pyrenees guardian dogs are known for their friendly, gentle demeanor, as well as their superior livestock guarding abilities. When you meet her, give her a biscuit and a pat. She loves guests! (By the way, the dog is off limits to the house unless invited! No worries if you are allergic or not an animal lover.) The house is full of character with a large kitchen and dining area. The property also has many ecological features, such as a green roof over the duck coop. Your stay here will not only be relaxing and fun, but educational as well. Typical guests who have really enjoyed the Duck 'N' Roll Inn are artists, urban gardening fans, photographers, journalists, film makers, animal lovers, students, musicians, world travelers and anyone with an adventurous mindset. You can also rest easy knowing that the money from your reservation is going directly to a small farm business in a developing neighborhood in Detroit. Laid In Detroit has hosts many events, including an annual Easter party for the kids.
Cornerstone Village, once a stable working class neighborhood founded by Belgian immigrants (some refer to it as "the Belgian triangle") has also been affected by the recent mass exodus from Detroit. But a strong coalition of homeowners with deep roots in the community have held things together. You will encounter some blight and vacant homes in the neighborhood. There are characters, and oftentimes people are out and about, playing music and socializing, but it is a friendly neighborhood. All guests have had a safe experience here. There are many great restaurants nearby, as well as bars, pubs, and grocery stores. The Cadieux Cafe and Ye Olde Tap Room have been around for a century. Trader Joe's and Kroger grocery are within walking distance.
  • The place was very affordable and offered plenty of room for our crew of 5. It was a good central location, as we were going to a wedding in Royal Oak and then downtown the next morning.

  • Suzanne was a great host! The home has a lot of charm. The disco ball in bedroom was fun! The Jacuzzi tub was nice. The ducks that live in backyard were so cute! Neighborhood could have been nicer, but we felt safe and even stayed for an extra day!

  • Lots of fun, staying at the Duck 'n' Roll Inn. The ducks are adorable, and Suzanne has added so many cool features to the house. I love the upstairs bathroom! Thanks, Suzanne!

  • This was my second time staying here, and I love it to pieces. It's a homey, funky labor of love. Meg the Dog is the size of a small pony, and she's fun to have galumphing around the house. After a day of exploring Detroit, it's so nice to have a place to come back to that feels like home. And someday I will steal that fantastic oven.

  • This place is amazing! No complaints!

  • This house is unique and Suzanne has worked hard to make it a darling and comfortable setting. Thoughtful touches like a cast iron pan for cooking, keyless entry (negating the uncomfortable and inevitable "oh we're standing on your front porch and how do we get a key from you?") and large spaces for eating and gathering. Do ensure (because you're likely more considerate than I am) that everyone in your party is comfortable with the true meaning of the word "developing neighborhood". My guests were not only not familiar but also not entirely comfortable with boarded up houses in clear sight, overgrown lawns filled with enormous weeds and untidy homes with no grass. That being said, I never felt we were in danger nor was I worried for the kids. The duck farm is sweet and meeting Suzanne made the experience great.

  • This was my first Air BnB experience and I was not disappointed. Very unique house, it is definitely an urban neighborhood that you would not expect a duck farm. The house itself was great, host welcomed us and let us check in a little early. The jacuzzi tub and wood burning stove in the master bedroom were perks to a little getaway for myself and my husband. Loved feeding the ducks and making friends with Mag-Dog.

  • Fucking brilliant! We stayed at the Duck n' Roll during a film shoot in Detroit, and OF COURSE it ended up being part of the film. Suzanne is an absolute princess, we LOVE her! The back yard is wonderful, have a barbecue, invite the locals, have the time of your life. I know we did!!

Spacious First Floor Apartment. Safe, well lit, street parking. Walking distance to local restaurants, bars, markets, gas stations and theatre. Very diverse in population. A City within the City of Detroit.
Guests have their own private apartment with separate entrance. This is on the 1st floor (6 small steps) in a shared unit multi-unit house. 2 Bedrooms. 1 queen size and other has a full size mattress. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Good water pressure. Parking is on the street, but there is almost always a spot directly in front of the house, and never more than one block away. Private entrance to your apartment. Free and Fast WiFi. BlueRay Player. Smart TV. Back yard with a fire pit. Access to back balcony with porch swing. I love greeting guests when they arrive and making sure they have everything they need. Beyond that, I will give you your space and will not knock on your door unnecessarily. I am always available by phone for urgent matters. Come see what all the talk is about!! A great city with a lot to offer. Hamtramck is the donut hole of Detroit. It's a city within the City of Detroit. 2 mile square radius with around 23 different languages spoken. No matter who you are, you will not stick out here. Everyone is welcome! They call it a piece of Europe in America! People ask me all the time if it's safe here??? My response is: Yes, is as safe, but like any big city, always have an extra eye out. Be mindful of your surroundings and don't leave things like bags, GPS, phones etc visible in your car. Hamtramck has it's own police force & fire department and they are very present. As far as Detroit goes, it gets more of a bad rap then what is actually going on. Our city has cleaned up very much in the last 5 years. I have been living here in and out my whole life and (knock on wood) never have had any issues. Anything goes here. It almost fells like you are (email hidden). Many artist live here and the community is very open. I'm sure you will leave pleased if you decide to give it a try and not be afraid of something a little different. Hamtramck is a walking friendly city. Ubar Car just arrived! Taxicab & Bus stop just 2 blocks away. Please let me know if you need a ride to or from the airport. $30 each way depending on availability.

  • This was an excellent place! We have four people and the apartment accommodated us perfectly. The only thing we didn't like about our stay was that we couldn't stay longer. Teena was very good at communicating and all of my questions were answered in a timely manner. Gorgeous apartment, I would stay again.

    Brady2014-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment was lovely as advertised. Hamtramck feels pretty sparse for places to go, but I had a great meal / beers at Rock City Eatery, a walk of a few minutes, would definitely go back. Easy parking. Some noise from road, upstairs apartment, but nothing unusual. Very pleasant space with neato kitschy items like a motorized recliner. Who knew?

    Adam2015-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Communication, Cleanliness, and pretty much everything was on par. Teena did a good job on giving us the information needed for the week long stay. The unit was a beauty and it had its own look to it!

    Brie'Ana2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Teena’s place was a convenient location for exploring Detroit, with the added bonus of getting to know Hamtramck, a truly international community (don’t miss Bon Bon Bon for unique chocolates). The apartment is very roomy with a full kitchen. It’s a decent value for the amount of space you get. Note that it’s an old building so if you are a light sleeper, you might hear your upstairs neighbors above you more than you’d like.

  • What a lovely space! I was so comfortable in this apartment, as everything was so clean and beautifully laid out! The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly and it was exactly what I had hoped for during my time away from home. I would highly recommend to anyone!

  • Teena's place was wonderful. the place is full of amenities and all you need. the location is perfect and close to downtown. the place is clean, well furnished, is safe and close to a library which makes it safer. communication was great and the host was very nice. highly recommend

    Guadalupe2018-07-19T00:00:00Z

    Nathalie2014-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! First time AirBNB'ing for me was a breeze thanks to Teena and her team making sure that everything was just perfect for our stay! Absolutely awesome communication! Very clean and organized apartment! The location was great for us to hop on 75 two blocks away and be anywhere in the city in a matter of minutes! P.S. -- Thanks for the Netflix, it came in handy when we just wanted to relax and watch a movie!

  • David was very gracious upon my arrival. He showed me around and was attentive to my needs. The space is super sweet and cozy and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The water pressure is awesome for showering, which is a huge plus. I was in town for business so didn't catch much of the downtown scene but it's a quaint town with lots to do. He even offered to mail an item to me that I left behind

    Julie2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Dave's place! The apartment is really charming with its furnishings and layout. Our favorite part is the screened in porch upstairs with rocking chairs. The place is about a minute walk to the cool strip in Ferndale, we had dinner at Greenspace Cafe, awesome vegan restaurant. Fabulous record store, grabbed a few drinks at Public House, hip little bar on the strip. For breakfast adorable cafe, Pinwheel Bakery! Lots of stuff to do and a real plus that it's all a short walk and in a very safe neighborhood! Dave was such a nice guy and gave us some great tips on places to visit. He made us feel very welcome. We wanted to stay more nights but Dave was booked and we were lucky to even get the spot as last minute as we did! We can't wait to go back :)

    Savannah2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • David was great, and the apartment is lovely. There were nice touches everywhere. The bed is comfy, the decor is interesting, there are many convenient amenities (towels, coffee, tea, books to read, etc.) and David was super friendly and welcoming. We felt VERY comfortable there. The location is excellent for visiting all of the happenin' places in Ferndale! The ad states that restaurants and bars are "steps away" and this is very true. It could not be more convenient. We plan to stay again next time we are in the Detroit/Ferndale area. It was great to meet David and stay in Ferndale!

  • David was a wonderful host. Very flexible and accommodating. The space was very clean and cozy with plenty of amenities. Would love to stay here again.

  • We hd an absolutely wonderful stay! David is a great host. The apartment is lovely with quaint, acclectic décor, a gorgeous tub, and a very comfortable bed. We loved walking through the backyard and having access to the best restaurants Ferndale has to offer. It was a perfect, relaxing way to celebrate my fiancé's 30th birthday and we left rejuvenated and refreshed. Thank you, again!

  • Gracious host, lovely home, comfortable space, terrific neighborhood, highly recommended.

    Missy2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a great stay at David's place. Everything was as advertised. The close proximity of his home to the central Ferndale community is the best! Pretty much anything we could need or want was within walking distance, and the drive into Detroit or any surrounding area was quick and easy. David was readily available if needed; however, the need never arose. The home was quiet and very comfortable. Cleanliness must be high on David's priority list, as the space was spotless and all bedding and towels were fresh and clean. The special touches that have gone into David's place go a long way; the "signature" wall, the skeleton key for the apartment door, the interesting artwork and vintage accents. I would highly recommend David's place and would stay again if the opportunity presented itself. :-)

    Kristin2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is really great--the place has a lot of personality, has an awesome sitting room overlooking the backyard, and is in a great location. Dave was a great host. He was quick to respond to our questions, and very helpful during our stay. I highly recommend this place, and would definitely come back.

My experience was wonderful! Tony is a great host and his place is very clean and comfortable. I felt very safe with the security system and outdoor cameras. The kitchen is stocked with a coffee maker and any seasoning you may need. I wish I could have stayed longer but one night was all I needed. Thank you for your hospitality!
