  • I utterly enjoyed every aspect of April and Ken's place. It had the feel of home away from home. They were superb host always a phone call away. Very pleasant cheerful. I can not say one disappointing thing about my stay there, lol except I wish it was longer. Centrally located and just a hop and skip from the quarter. If you rent a car there's always parking available and if your walking trust me u can enjoy a meal and a some music and still walk home if you choose at 2,3,4am in the morning and still feel safe. The home has and inviting atmosphere you can just lay back and relax on those hot days watch tv, turn on the central air an chill. If your feeling up to it you can take an early morning or late night bike ride around the neighborhood. Lots of great places to eat and enjoy weather your into touristy stuff or wanna hang more local style. I would def say book this spot if it's available, if you don't I will

  • The house and courtyard are cozy and charming, exactly as you may expect after seeing the pictures. As soon as you enter the house, you can see how April and Ken care about the quality of you stay: Everything is well conserved or remodeled, and all the appliances are nice. Definitely not one of those guest houses where the owner dumps all its old or broken stuff. April and Ken were also nice on responding our messages. We would stay here again, for sure.

  • Awesome time.

    Moses2014-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful studio fully equipped ,with little attentions we appreciated. Bikes are just what we needed to go downtown to recommend!

    Charly2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very satisfied with our stay, everything looks great like in the pictures, very clean, 20 mins walking to french quarter and like 8 mins driving. Ken and April are great hosts, very diligent and helpful. I will definitely recommend my friends to stay there when visiting NOLA.

    Joel2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • April & Ken's place is great and they couldn't be nicer! They have thought of every little detail to make your stay comfortable and safe and the place is so cute. We look forward to staying there again!

    Carol2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Private, walkable to the French quarter, everything we needed was there to make our stay easy. Would recommend.

    Frances2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great host, great city and overall great time in NOLA! April and Ken were always there when we asked anything on the apartment, the city or places to see! The place is very quiet, well furnished for short or long stay and you can walk from there to the French Quarter in 15mn or less. We strongly recommend this place.

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.
  • Mark's place was like having your own historic home just off the more noisy French Quarter. We could walk home in just a few minutes from an evening out on the town.

    David2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic experience. Mark happened to be in the neighborhood and greeted us and gave us some fantastic tips about where to go for our one night in New Orleans. The space was beautiful, clean and well equip with everything we needed and more. The location was perfect, an easy walk to bars and restaurants or a simple uber away to other neighborhoods close by. We would definitely stay here again. I Highly recommend it.

    Clay2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The home was very clean and the photos accurately depicted the place. However I would recommend only sleeping 2 people because the sofa bed was a little uncomfortable. Overall great stay! Walking distance to anything you would ever need. I would stay here again.

    Brooke2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's accommodation is very stylish & well appointed. It s right next door to the French Quarter yet in a quiet neighbourhood. Would highly recommend if you want to be near the action.

    Barbara2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was just perfect! Gorgeous, ultra clean, great historical location, and the hosts...well let's just say that I feel like it's a blessing that I got to meet these incredible people! They were the most helpful and accommodating...the perfect example of southern hospitality! Not only am I recommending this place, but I'm urging you to book it asap! We will cherish our stay at Mark's forever ;)

    Julie2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stay here for close to French Quarter historic living. Walkable, but relatively quiet.

    Terry2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place in the perfect location! Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.

    Ryan2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place is charming, and easy to get in and out of, which was great! We did experience a *considerable* amount of street noise, which made for light sleeping. Mostly construction starting in the early morning - street cleaners, cutting down branches, jackhammers - it was almost comical by the end of our trip. Overall, a nice place and convenient. Treme is such a cute area and convenient to the French Quarter.

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire. Additional bedroom is available for groups traveling together or families traveling with children. Please discuss your group's needs with the host. New Orleans license number is 17STR-06526.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house just off the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iron, music player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. A second bedroom is available for groups, so the space can be made to accommodate 1-4 people. We welcome special requests and will make every effort to assist with needed recommendations. We can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your childen. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • My boyfriend and I recently stayed here and LOVED it. The private outside entrance made us feel secluded from the rest of the house. The room is beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again next time we are in New Orleans!

    Ashleah2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Overall great stay! The place was very clean, centrally-located, and eerily quiet (but the white noise machine helped out with that--yes, a white noise machine). Actually, there were a few handy amenities like that laying around that came in clutch for us: umbrellas (LOTS of rain in New Orleans), coffee machine (for that oh-so-necessary morning jolt), robes (it got a little chilly inside), mini-fridge (always a plus), and even a binder full of helpful notes about the city and places to go. Parking was never an issue, which was perfect since we had a rental and the rain made walking a non-option. While the host was very open to communication and accessible by text, I personally enjoyed the minimal interaction and having a spot that was separate from the main house. It was just the right amount of privacy. Needless to say, we'd stay here again. Heck, we'd stay even longer if they ever start offering beignets in the morning and a machine that controls the weather.

  • We walked into the room and loved the New Orleans decor of the room. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable.

    Sam2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was very enjoyable and private. Perfect room and bathroom setup with snacks, drinks, coffee, first aid supplies, and toiletries, provided by the host. I definitely recommend this stay for anyone who doesn't mind getting away from the hotel atmosphere.

  • After spending two weeks shuffling between various family members homes across the south for the holidays, my husband and I decided to book a last minute trip to New Orleans (our first time) on our way back home. Erin's place was lovely and affordable; only a short transit ride into the quarter and (most importantly) a cheap late night cab ride back. She graciously hosted our small dog as well and provided us with everything we needed (toiletries, snacks, coffee/soda/water/beer, bathrobes, and a late check-out). The room is well-appointed and private, situated at the back of her property and with a separate entrance. We had a great couple days and would love to stay @ "Ride the streetcar to the Quarter" again--our highest recommendation! Thanks, Erin!

    Stephanie2013-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Erin was such a great host! The room was decorated perfectly, supplied with all the amenities you need. We barely heard her and her family in the house while there, which made it very private. Parking on the driveway was an added bonus, since we did take the car to go gambling and eat at restaurants not near the quarter. Erin provided an awesome welcome book with information on streetcars, food, and other activities to try out in the city. We had a wonderful time at Erin's and will definitely be staying there again next time we are in NOLA! :)

    Courtney2014-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Erin's beautiful house was just as described and pictured. It far exceeded our expectations and since this was my first airbnb experience, we were unsure of how it would go! We were blown away by the lovely room and all the amenities! Th bed is so luxurious and soft, we didn't want to get up! And the shower and bath tub were perfect! It was nice to have awesome bath products to relax with after a long day of walking! Erin let us know she was only a text away, and she always answered me very quickly after I texted her. She and her partner were very kind upon arrival, and even let my friend borrow their only iPhone 5 charger for the night! The garden and pathway to the room was so lovely, and these cute little dragonflies flitted around us as we walked back. The room is in the back, and was super quiet. The street was also surprisingly super quiet, and we had no problems getting to sleep! The wonderful down pillows on the ultra perfect bed made it also easy to fall asleep. There were also robes provided and snacks and drinks that came in handy after getting back to the room after walking around the quarter. Erin was so nice and they were both very laid back about checkout time. We got back a little later than expected on the day of checkout and she was very understanding and told us to take our time! She also has a handmade information book that gives you do's and don'ts of Nola and gives a ton of restaurant recommendations! It was about a five minute walk to the stop for the canal street car and we took a taxi home at night from the quarter and paid about 10$ which isn't terrible. Y friend and I both have said whenever we come back to nola, their place is the only place we wanna stay! Luxury at a great affordable price.

    Margaret 2014-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We found this accommodation very clean, homely and it was a beautifully decorated with a very authentic 'NOLA' look and feel. The room and bathroom had everything we needed and it's location was perfect. Close enough that it didn't take more than 15-20 mins to get to the French Quarter by street car, but far enough that we felt like we got a real local experience! Erin was very prompt with emails and very flexible with the booking. We would most definitely recommend to anyone coming to NOLA.

  • Really spacious beautiful space! I really couldnt have asked for more.

    Lea And Jeff2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • A really solid place all in all. Short walk to the French Quarter/Bourbon Street. The perfect spot for our buddy's bachelor party. Brad, our host was accommodating and check in very easy. The pictures don't quite do justice. The condo was spacious, very clean and all of the mattresses were super comfy! The kitchen had nice appliances and all of the basic supplies to cook meals. To our surprise, the place was stocked with paper towels, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, hand soaps, toiletries and plenty of towels and toilet paper. I highly recommend this condo for a bachelor/bachelorette party or for any other occasion.

    Ryan2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was amazing! Much bigger than it looked in the photos online. I had booked it for a bachelorette party with 6 other girls and it was perfect for the occasion! The kitchen was large enough for us to cook for everyone and had enough utensils that we weren't needing anything. We loved the master bedroom and the little sitting area and balcony attached. It was also in the perfect location; just three blocks from Bourbon, about a five minute walk, and super close to shops and restaurants. The host was also very responsive to messages. We loved our stay!

    Taylor2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for one night as we waited for an early morning flight. Place is as nice as it looks in the pictures and perfectly accommodated our group of 7. (1 King Bed, 1 Queen, 2 Fulls {bunk beds}, 1 air mattress and 1 couch)

    John2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was amazing. From how easily reachable our hosts were to the most perfect location. A super walkable location ( you’ll need it for all the delicious food you will be eating ), easy access to everything and a pretty low key neighborhood. We had such a great time and we look forward to coming back!

    Sarah2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What an amazing experience and we will Never stay at a hotel in New Orleans again. Beaufitul place that the reviews and pictures did not even do justice. Plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable and such a great convenient location. We will definitely be back. It’s is exactly what you expect and more.

    Anjanette2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft was a great space for families. The beds were comfortable and clean. That showers were great. The washer dryer were really helpful for us. The location was close to the French Quarter and we were able to take a Lyft to other nearby locations such as Frenchmen Street. I would also highly recommend the oysters at Gallier Restaurant and Oyster Bar which is only two blocks away. They also had great deals during their happy hour.

  • We loved our stay at Matt's place. The room was specious and clean. We loved that there was a washer and dryer. Matt was a great host. He provided us with lots of suggestions for local hangouts. It was very easy to to get in touch with Matt. Matt's place will be our go to the next time we're in New Orleans.

    Chanrasamy2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew went out of his way to make us feel welcome! Included a couple of local beers in the refrigerator for us to try. Everything was laid out nicely upon our arrival. Had several recommendations for local restaurants and sites to see, including directions and transportation. He even included some snacks and beverages in the kitchen. Very clean and safe. Would definitely stay here again!

    Danielle2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our visit. Matt was very responsive and even let us check in early. We love that it was secluded.

    Stan2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's place was great! Stayed in the room by myself and very much enjoyed how quiet and cozy it was every time I'd come back to relax after a long day of exploring. The room had many things available that were such a plus like Netflix, fresh towels, complimentary local beer, etc. I highly recommend anyone stay here for a visit in New Orleans.

    Katherine2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We liked the studio being in a safe neighborhood close to public transportation. 4 blocks to the bus stop and 3 more to st charles street car. Street car takes a little longer but you get to see beautiful old houses. Walgreens is across the street from the street car. Riding the street car on St charles street, you can jump off at Trolley Stop Cafe, we ordered fried shrimp and oysters. Unbelievabley good. Rose was our favorite waitress. The studio was comfortable, clean and private. Matt is professional yet personable with a sense of humor. He made it clear to text him if we needed anything. One morning he texted to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything. What hotel does that?! The next time we go to new Orleans, I hope Matt has an opening for us.

    Carol2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's place was amazing!!! Everything from the location to the decorations were perfect. Matthew and Katherine were very communicative and provided us with great restaurant recommendations. Next time I come down to New Orleans I'd definitely stay here again!

The neighborhood is quiet and within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Plenty of space for the five of us in my group. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This cozy two bedroom condo offers a lot of NOLA charm. The place is as advertised in the photos. The courtyard was amazing. The only negative was the stairs. They can get pretty tricky after a night on Bourbon Street. Everything else was awesome. Diana was a gracious host.

The Mazant is a plantation-style home dating back to the early 1880s, located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1-1/2 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and Satsuma Cafe. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.
UPDATE SUMMER 2018: This summer we are making some additional updates to the house, including adding one additional queen bed (upstairs), remodeling three bathrooms, adding a new half bathroom downstairs, and doubling the size of the kitchen. New floor plans are already available online and photos will be updated by the end of September. ----- We have been working to renovate the house over the past several years, seeking to preserve historic details including 13' ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 125-year old oak tree. At the same time, we updated the layout to more comfortably accommodate large groups: * 18-person dining room table * Oversized living room with 70-inch television, surround sound system, and Baldwin upright piano * Private yard (1/3 acre) with fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks * Super-fast WiFi (the top tier that Cox offers) * Front porch (gallery) with historic gas lamps and outdoor seating * Off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking for overflow The house has eight bedrooms with layout as follows: Downstairs - Bedroom 1: one queen bed (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 2: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) Upstairs - Bedroom 3: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower/tub combo) - Bedroom 4: one double bed - Bedroom 5: one twin bunkbed - Bedroom 6: one king bed - Bedroom 7: two queen beds (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 8: one king bed There is another shared bathroom upstairs (near the laundry room) with a clawfoot tub-shower combination. Unfortunately, the caretaker's cottage is no longer available for rent.
Just down river (east) from the French Quarter - stretching from Press Street to the Industrial Canal - is the Bywater, where the mood and pace shift as you enter into the heart of an edgier yet still welcoming neighborhood. The St. Claude Arts District, centered around St. Claude Avenue, is home to more than thirty locations exhibiting visual and performance art, along with an array of artisan crafts. Down Piety Street, the fun continues with restaurants, thrift stores and more galleries. Even the homes, cafes and restaurants seem to capture Bywater's eclectic appreciation for the arts. Spend the afternoon at Crescent Park for some impressive views of downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. Afterward, you can thrift your way through the neighborhood before stopping in at an exhibition and finally making your way to dinner. The area's restaurants are among the most innovative in the city and are great places to sit with a cocktail and chat with locals. Above all, the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods illustrate the relationship between the New Orleans arts scene and local life. So whether you're looking for the New Orleans of old, or if you want see where New Orleans culture is headed for the future, the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater will offer you glimpses in either direction.
  • Wow. This place was perfect for our 15 lady bachelorette destination weekend. From the moment you arrive, you're going to be impressed; and you might think that that feeling would subside after walking through the house 3 times with your mouth hanging open, but it won't--you will be impressed from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The house is stately, beautifully renovated with thoughtful decor, and has so many things to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed: the upstairs porch (yoga in the morning with local coffee made in the keep-15-people-easily-caffeinated Bunn coffee maker!); the firepit, grill and outdoor table (post-FQ s'mores, afternoon naps on the lawn, morning breakfasts in the sunshine); the formal dining room for our special last night feast; the hand soap (I'm not kidding, at least 4 girls have already purchased it online); the well equipped kitchen and bedrooms (real beds in beautiful rooms for everyone), and the abundance of bathrooms (I don't think I waited for a shower once all weekend). We also enjoyed the surround sound, easy temp control, and quietness of being just far enough from the quarter, but close enough to enjoy a walk along the river to the French Market (and streetcar stop). Jeff was very responsive to my questions before we arrived and provided great recommendations for the neighborhood--I'd say he went above and beyond to help make our stay feel special (I'll leave you to discover some of those surprises yourself--just delightful!). Jeff, and Kevin (the house manager) were also very accommodating in regards to check in and check out, which made my life so much easier (coordinating arrivals and departures for 15 people!). I can't wait to plan another trip, in part just to stay in this beautiful home again.

  • We had a great time staying at Jeff's place! We had a party of 13 people staying together and did not feel crowded at all. The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed, including a great yard & fire pit. It was possible to walk to the French Quarter, but we ended up taking Ubers most of the time. The house is also just a few blocks from both The Joint and Elizabeth's, two amazing restaurants we had fantastic meals at. I would definitely recommend Jeff's place for any large parties traveling together.

    Kate2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect property!! Great for large groups and a quick Uber ride to the French quarter. Lots of great restaurants near by in the area. Well maintained and clean. We would love to stay again!

  • Great neighborhood.

  • I stayed here for my sisters bachelorette party and the house was absolutely amazing! There were 11 of us girls and there was plenty of space - even an extra room! The place was clean and perfect for hosting a party. The hosts were very hospitable, they left a nice note with champagne, beer, and cake in the fridge when we checked in! Highly recommend this place!

  • The 906 Mazant was a wonderful venue for our group to stay while in new Orleans for a conference. The home is beautifully appointed and well equipped for both large groups and small. While we did not have the opportunity to entertain customers during this visit the home is a perfect venue for entertaining clients, family or friends. 906 Mazant is a great break from the cookie-cutter chain hotels providing an abundance of charm and comfort at a reasonable value. We will stay at 906 Mazant on future visits to New Orleans!

  • Great house and great host. I would highly recommend.

  • Whatever you read in the description or view on the pictures is only a preview of how wonderful this house really is. Do yourself a favor and book it now while it's available! This place is like a gorgeous palace with so much space and beautiful decor! It fit our party of 16 perfectly. Jeff and Kevin were wonderful with checking in, offering suggestions for places to visit nearby and even greeted us with a special note and welcoming treat in the house upon our arrival. The outside yard was our favorite hangout space whether it was having coffee on the balcony, sharing laughs in the backyard, napping in the hammock or taking pictures in the courtyard, everything was beautifully done and accessible. Each room is beautifully decorated and pays close attention to detail. Even the mattresses and shower heads were wonderful! We cannot wait to go back! Thanks Jeff for making our family trip feel so comfortable and memorable!

  • Nick and Lindsay did not disappoint! Love their house and perfect location!

    Kayla2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really really nice stay at the home of Nick & Lindsay. They welcomed us with a typical King Cake from New Orleans, a cool surprise. Coming into their home feels a bit like coming home. You'll definitely enjoy being here and feeling the warm, calm and also artsy atmosphere. Both helped us finding good places to eat and drink and told us what we'll have to see during our stay in New Orleans. All tips were helpful and we enjoyed the places, especially Mimis Bar, that's only one block away. The rooms they offer are terrific. Both rooms have an exit to the balcony with access to the atrium. It was the first stop on a long road-trip for us. Best beginning ever :) Thank both

    Sebastian2014-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay were super friendly and easy to connect with when it came to getting settled in their place. We arrived late, so they provided us the door code and told us to help ourselves to some beer or champagne when we arrived - thanks guys! Great neighborhood, close to Frenchman street and the French Market/Quarter. Wish we could have hung out with hosts more, maybe next time!

    Craig2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay were very friendly and helpful. Nice house and really great location. If i'll ever be in new orleans again i would definetly come again

    Barak2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! My first airbnb experience was out of this world. Nick and Lindsay are a pure delight to be around! The house is beautiful and the neighbourhood is gorgeous. Anyone wanting a true local feel to this town need to stay here and if you are lucky enough to be in town when their friends are around you are in for a good time in New Orleans! Would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Lee2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience and my first time in New Orleans, and Nick and Lindsay were the best hosts we could have asked for. They have a beautiful home which was even more charming in person, and they were extremely accommodating even with our guests arriving separately. We also got to sit down and hangout with them one night and they had a lot to offer about the culture, the city, and their experiences in general. The Quarter is only a 15-20 minute walk and we didn't feel unsafe at all. Everything is walking distance and we absolutely loved our stay. Overall we had a wonderful experience and I highly recommend their home to stay at. When we come back to the city, I will definitely be contacting Nick and Lindsay again! Thank you guys so much!! :)

    Christine2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay have a beautiful home! The decor downstairs really reflects their style while also fitting in with the New Orleans vibe to give a truly authentic experience. They are full of great recommendations and are just lovely people.

    Laura2014-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in Nick and Lindsay's awesome home. From the moment we walked in, they were friendly, gracious, and made us feel right at home. There's plenty to see and do in the area, and it's a short walk to Frenchmen St and the French Quarter. Nick had some great suggestions - definitely go to Cake Cafe for breakfast and Booty's for drinks and snacks! All in all, the place was great and so were the hosts. We'd stay with them again in a heartbeat.

  • Not too costly to take an Uber to the French Quarter. The offering of bikes is a nice bonus! The price and availability during Jazzfest was great!

  • No soap here - no extras - bring your own

    Dena2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ask lots of questions. It's located in the Bywater, it's quite a distance from the French Quarter and even further from the Warehouse District. You will be driving lots. Bikes were helpful. Thanks Andrew. Communication--GREAT! Parking was available but try not to be creeped out by the area. It's up and coming but seemed very safe and diverse. People were outside washing, caring for plants, taking out garbage and sitting on their small porches. I enjoyed the little kitties under the house, but hope they are being spayed/neutered to keep the population down.

    Donna2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and cozy place. Had a great time riding the bikes to and through City Park. Love the Bywater area, Would definitely stay here again.

    Molly2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Bikes are an awesome touch. Location is pretty great too; it's really close to the French Quarter after a short bike ride. It was super quiet and private for the most part. We saw other guests at times, but people mostly kept to themselves. The linens on our first night smelled a little... doggy, but I suspect this is a one off.

    Saam2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Marie Antionette room was clean and cozy. HUGE bed, and the shared bathroom was extremely clean. Not really close to downtown, but Close to the city bus route and there's many local bars nearby that were nice to visit. Looking forward to booking with Andrew the next time I visit!

    Amber2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • I hate writing this review because the host was fantastic, but here it is... 1. I wouldn't call the neighborhood "quiet." There was a very noisy neighbor playing the drums most of the time I was there. And when me and my friend would ever walk outside we would get cat called . I thought the concepts of bikes were cool but I wouldn't ride them around that often in that type of neighborhood. Wasn't a terrible neighborhood, but it wasn't what this listing (and it's reviews) made it seem like. 2. My towels, although very thankful they were provided, smelled like mildew. Positive notes: 1. The host is great and responsive. 2. He writes out instructions incredibly clear so you probably won't even need to be in contact with him at all! Nothing about the listing was inaccurate, BUT the pictures and descriptions make it seem like it is better than it really is. My experience was simply average.

    Laura2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place was clean, our bed was comfortable, and location was close to the bus stop for access to all our destinations. Encountered a few guests, all friendly and courteous.

  • I think Jonathan was a very kind host. He was not present during our stay, but he was easy to access and checked in frequently. I appreciated the small touches that made the loft feel very hospitable, and the additional small amenities, like access to coffee, a fridge, toiletries, and games. The bed was exceedingly comfortable and probably the biggest bed I have ever seen. We sleep close and probably used 30% of it. I think two people could pull a starfish on this and still sleep well, so if that sounds like you, then this is the place! I had just one concern with the loft. When we walked in, the air was extremely humid and it smelled musty, to the extent where my throat started feeling irritated. Fortunately, the air conditioning units in the loft are excellent and I felt better quickly. The next day, I noticed water leaking in through a crack in the bathroom's concrete ceiling. My guess is that the room may have been undisturbed for a couple of days and the leak led to a humidity build up. It was not a significant problem during our stay, but unless the host makes repairs to prevent this quickly, there is a risk of people getting sick if this happens to cause mold growth in the future. That would definitely be a shame because it is a very unique, comfy, and cute space. For people who might be sensitive to humidity or mold, I would not recommend staying here.

    Armando2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This loft was fantastic! The ceilings are low, but my bf and I are 5'8 and 5'10 and only had to duck under a beam or two. So overall we didn't mind it at all. The room is spacious, a giant and wonderfully comfortable king bed and definitely within walking distance of a lot of things. Though if going out at night I recommend Uber or Lyft. All our riders however were never more than $10 and usually less.

    Lydia2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very hip setup, arrived with a special treat and hand written note, the location was great, and it was a short uber or street car ride away from all that's happening in NOLA...highly recommended

    Andrew2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • The space is laid out so that there is ample privacy. The "book loft" area is separated upstairs with your own keypad code and bathroom. Stylishly decorated with mid-century furniture and a clean king sized bed were accurately described. Please note that there are no windows and ventilation is not the best. The location is walkable but in the heat, being near a street car was very ideal. Super easy check in/out process since there is a keypad at the front door as well. All in all for the value and seamless communication, had a great stay!

    Yooji2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is pretty much an attic. There is no central AC. There is a window unit and fans but we still sweat through the night with summer in Louisiana. Also no towels in the bathroom to shower. Overall Jonathan was super friendly though and the place was a great location.

    Emily2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan's apartment was so so so convenient and in the best price range for a typically $300 - 500 a night stay during JazzFest. We slept like a baby every night in the "book loft" as there are no windows and was like a cozy cave. I would like to note that my boyfriend and I are on the tall side and didn't think about the ceiling height, so those who stay here should know they will need to duck a bit here and there around some of the ceiling support beams if you are taller than 5'7. Plenty of parking, quiet neighborhood and again just one short block away from the street car on Canal. Definitely would love to come back here again!

    Erin2018-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was super roomy and very cool. It had awesome vibes. I kept hitting my head on the rafters, but that’s just because I’m 6ft and clumsy. I would definitely come here again!

    Anna2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We did not stay because the area was rough and we did not want to worry about getting home at night. The host never responded when we told them we would prefer to stay somewhere else.

A complimentary Breakfast including fresh brewed coffee, cereal, toast and fruit is also available to guests, as is free use of our Bicycles. NOLA STR permit# 18STR-06203
This listing is for our 3rd bedroom. It has a shared bathroom. See our other listings #1 or #4 for a private en-suite. The room does use a shared bathroom, but as most of our guests are focused on exploring the town, this is rarely more than an inconvenience. If you would prefer a room with a private bathroom, we would like to recommend our other listings Creole Cottage in historic Treme #1 and #4. The Cottage started life as a two family home shortly before the American Civil war and has been added to a number of times over the years, unfortunately the specifics of its history are difficult to pin down (although we can make some educated guesses). It's a 20 minute walk(15 minute power walk!) to the French Quarter under those gorgeous 200 year old Oaks, surrounded by gorgeous 200 year old houses, on the former streetcar line. We have four beautiful rescued cats. Miss Doris Day from the Bronx and a few locals, Minnie Mouse, Rocky Raccoon, and Prince Harry. Rick born on NYC and grew up on Long Island, and when he was 17 I moved to New Zealand with my parents and two sisters. He studied at Auckland University and Graduated with a Degree in Architecture, one of the highlights was designing his brothers’ holiday home on Waiheke Island NZ. He's renovated houses in NZ, San Francisco, and now New Orleans. I started playing Trumpet in elementary school and never stopped, I play regularly around New Orleans & Auckland NZ. I moved to New Orleans in 2010 with my wife Liz and we love it! Since then I’ve been working on our house and playing with various bands around New Orleans including my own group the Rick Roff Trio. Avery Moved here from New Zealand in 2013 to help on the renovation, he’s a Jack of all trades with a background in technology but he spends his downtime creating industrial lighting and has personally either created or restored most of the lighting in the house. His other Artistic projects include leatherwork (specialising in costume armor) and the occasional piece of furniture. He sells publicly through Secondline Arts & Antiques in the French Quarter, but if you see something you like feel free to ask him if it’s available or whether you can commission something similar. As of late November Rick and Liz are currently taking an extended break from Airbnb to spend time with Ricks elderly mother in New Zealand while Avery runs things here in New Orleans
Historic Treme, Esplanade Ridge, Lower 7th Ward, our neighborhood gets called different names by different people. Historically our neighborhood was part of the Creole side of town (as opposed to the “American” side) and just a stones’ throw from Esplanade Avenue and it’s centuries old Oak trees. Most of the houses in our area predate the Civil war (Creole Cottages and Shotguns) although there are a few places that are more modern (or have been “modernized”) which gives the neighborhood a sense of age that’s impossible to replicate. While it’s true that there are still a number of houses in the area that are currently unoccupied, that number is gradually dwindling and is mostly an aftereffect of Hurricane Katrina. The area is also dotted with small restaurants and Cafes, perfect if you’re looking to get away from the Crowds. Logistically, we’re centrally located and convenient to the French Quarter but not close enough to feel trapped by it while Esplanade Ave forms a direct (and safe) pathway that’s well-traveled day and night. Alternately you can follow Esplanade away from the French Quarter and explore New Orleans City Park (Designed by the same person as Central Park NYC and 50% larger). City Park is a great place to visit, not only for its landscaped scenery but also because it hosts the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) as well as its free attached sculpture garden. Safety is a major concern for many of our guests as New Orleans doesn’t have the best reputation in that regard; we can honestly say that our neighborhood is quite safe, we’re less than a block from a main road (Esplanade) that’s well lit and well-traveled at all times of the day and night. If you aren’t comfortable with walking back to our place, Uber or Lyft usually run less than $10, although frankly, the French Quarter is the most dangerous place most tourists are likely to visit, even then, incidents involving our guests are incredibly rare.
  • We came in late and had every clear instructions about how to get in without disturbing anyone, with a nice instruction to call if anything came up. Coffee, breakfast and conversation were always available. We were charmed by the improvements to this historic house and could see where the vision for more was to come. Overall a great, easy stay.

  • Rick and Liz are lovely hosts - very welcoming and go the extra mile to make you feel at home in their home. The house is an easy walk to the French Quarter, Frenchman Street and other great parts of New Orleans. Rick and Liz are willing to take the time to impart local knowledge about the area, which is ideal if you're a visitor to New Orleans.

    Eve2013-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying with Rick and Liz. They are really welcoming and their house is lovely. The room we stayed in was ultra comfortable and I lovely respite from the New Orleans heat. The location of the house is great too. I definitely recommend staying here.

    Tom2014-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was great staying at Rick and Liz's place! Our welcoming committee was Rick and his pup, Sgt. Pepper. They made us feel at home right away. It was a 15 minute walk right to the French Quarter. They also provided us with bikes, which made getting around New Orleans much easier. We enjoyed our time there very much. I would stay here again if we come back for another visit!

  • We stayed for a week at Rick & Liz's house, it was a very nice experience, they are very warm and welcoming people, we felt very good with them, house is very nice and very well located too it has a nice backyard, breakfast was convenient and they've got bikes for you to bike around, awesome, we had great time biking through NOLA. They've got three nice cats and a lovely dog, Sgt Pepper. I totally recommend staying with them.

  • Yes -- I felt very welcomed upon my arrival, which ended up being late in the evening. Description overall was accurate -- neighborhood was quiet which was nice.

    Meghan2014-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Located in Treme, and blocks from the French Quarter, Rick puts you in easy walking distance of good restaurants, great bars, and all the craziness of Bourbon Street. The house was full of guests from all over the world when we stayed, but that made breakfast all the more enjoyable.

    Juliet2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice experience, would recommend to everyone, Rick and Liz were very warm and hospitable hosts. The room was clean, spacious; was provided towels, bottled water, key to the home, and generally any amenity you needed. This was an excellent place to stay and would certainly return if I end up in NOLA again.

This listing is for a full sized loft bed with staircase, in the "living room" (a space used in this shotgun style home to commute between rooms). You have privacy curtains in the loft for sleeping late and being more comfortable. There is plenty of storage space in the loft for your belongings. ***Alex and 7 year old Daughter Vivian are the permanent tenants here. They live in the front of the home and with whom you share their home, including bathroom and kitchen as well as the other bnb room we have. When you book with us, you are agreeing to share your space with them :) I am totally flexible and available to accommodate any check-in or check-out times. However, for regularity sake I suggest: Check in after 3pm Check out before 11am Also note that you're welcome to check in anytime after 3pm but Alex sometimes works late and we can't guarantee the room will be clean until 5:30pm, but please come and make yourself at home :) take out the bikes, or lounge around, (if you're going to take a nap and/or you've checked in before the room has been cleaned, please message us to indicate when we can clean) thanks again and see you soon!
The house is in the Historic "Esplanade Ridge" Close to the "French Quarter/Bourbon St." Downtown and the Historic Marigny Neighborhood/ Frenchman Street. The house is just a few blocks away from the fairgrounds, coffee shops, several good restaurant, and a small grocery store. A couple more blocks and you are near The New Orleans Museum of Art and City Park! The Superdome is a 10 minute bike ride away and only 1 mile to the French Quarter down beautiful Esplanade Ave. Commonly sought after attractions within 2 miles of the house are: Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, Superdome, French Quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, City Park, DBA, Cafe du Monde, French Market, Spotted Cat, Cafe Negril, Blue Nile, The Maison, Apple Barrel, Coop's Place, Mardi Gras Zone, Mimi's in the Marigny, All Ways Lounge, and the Bywater, Marigny, 7th Ward, and Treme neighborhoods.
  • Nice and peaceful place! Alex and Viviane are kindly people and make you feel like at home. There are bus routes near to the Andrew's house that allow you move easily.

  • I would recommend this space. Very affordable and comfortable; it was exactly as advertised. The live in tenant is very quiet and respectful of your space....since it is a shared space. You have to read the whole listing, follow the instructions, and take care of yourself though. Be an independent to book this space, no hand holding is provided.

  • The Glamorous Gold Room was a wonderful initiation to New Orleans. Communication with Coco and Andrew was quick, thorough and a pleasure. They are wonderful hosts with many interesting and enjoyable recommendations for local attractions that are off the beaten path. We were able to walk through neighborhoods for miles from their central location and always felt safe!

    Joshua2013-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clean ... Helpful with local tips ... Would highly recommend

    Cody2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The host was super friendly and gave us directions on where to go during our stay in NOLA. Biking through the French quarter was one of our favorite parts & thanks to the hosts bikes, we were able to enjoy that. Our stay at the peach parlor made us feel like we were a part of New Orleans. It really gives you the experience.

    Emily2016-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I guess me and my boyfriend had an out of the ordinary experience while staying in The Peach Parlor because our time there was awful. I generally like to stay in quirky places for a one of a kind experience, but we spent our time there saying that we couldn't wait to leave The Peach Parlor. We never met Andrew and he had very minimal contact with us. From what I can tell, he is out of the country, but he never told me that himself or asked if we needed anything or checked in at all. We came in our first night while Amanda had guests and were not greeted very warmly. We did meet Alex who was extremely friendly and welcoming. The pictures were slightly deceiving, the actual room was not as bright or as roomy as it looked, which was not a big deal. The overall cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. The loft area was not clean and had a very unpleasant smell to it. (My boyfriend also found some very large bugs crawling in the sink of the bathroom.) There was an AC in the room which was nice but it did not reach the loft where you will be sleeping. There were two fans there but it was still difficult to fall asleep until later in the night when the overall temperature cooled down. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on and both of us work up feeling sore and very tired from a restless night. I would absolutely not recommend this house or this host to stay with. Maybe we got an unlucky experience considering most reviews seem to be very positive, but based on our stay, I'd find somewhere else if you're planning a trip to Nola.

    Ryan2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home! It had a true New Orleans feel. Came with a really helpful guide full of restaurants shops and clubs that went to good use! Totally recommend to adventurous, quirky souls! :)

    Orla2013-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here! Andrew was out of the country so we didn't actually get to meet but check in was easy and the room was very comfy. The neighborhood was a little sketchy but the people seemed friendly enough and nothing bad happened. Parking was a little crowded in front of the house as well but there are a few good spots around the corner if you don't mind walking half a block. I loved the booklet provided by Andrew. It was very accurate and handy. He included recommended places to eat, things to see and what to avoid. I would stay here again and I would highly recommend using the bikes provided! The French Quarter is a little further away than we thought and parking down there is a pain. The bikes were a welcome perk.

Lovely apt with 14 foot ceilings and exposed plaster walls right in the middle of the French Qtr and the Garden Dist., walking distance attractions, and wonderful food and drink options within one block. Separate entrance and entire floor of 1850s brick townhouse. I own the home, and we live on the first floor of the building with our dogs. We're very thankful to you for staying with us, as your money goes back into the bldg by paying for its continuing restoration! [Listing #: 17STR-08176]
Old 1850s brick townhouse located on the edge of the Lower Garden District. The apartment is romantic, full of antiques, and has a super comfy king size bed. If you love food, you are within walking distance of some great restaurants located either uptown on Magazine Street or downtown in the Warehouse District / CBD. There is a lovely bar right next door, an awesome coffee shop right across the street and a microbrewery with half a block. You are just a 20 minute walk to the French Quarter as well. I own this house, live in the building, and do all the booking, communication and cleaning myself so I'm here to make your stay as great as possible with a a personal touch! Your stay funds the renovation of this building so thanks for considering this for your stay in New Orleans.
I love this neighborhood! It is right in the middle of city along the river, so a more low traffic spot, but with easy access to the more commercial and entertainment districts. It has its own lovely set of bars, coffee shops, and wonderful restaurants very close by though.
  • Lindsey was extremely accommodating and truly nice. The apartment was spacious and romantic. A one of a kind rustic treasure. Truly unique - and superior to the photos. The apartment is highly recommended within walking distance to the museums/french quarter and Magazine street. Perfect! Stay here. Coffee shop across the street is the best start to any day.

    Christopher2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had a quick weekend trip for work and Lindsey's apartment was the perfect place to stay. She was super flexible with my in-flux travel plans, there were freshly folded towels, the AC was running when I walked in (much appreciated when it's 95 degrees) and the apartment was spotless. It's got tons of charm and is decorated so well. There's also an amazing little selection of books, which was great. Awesome area, too.

    Olivia2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed in Lindsey's amazing apartment twice now, and it's a perfect New Orleans experience—within walking distance to the Warehouse district/all the museums (and French Quarter if you're feeling ambitious), good coffee across the street, 15 min to pretty much everywhere in the city by car, and on a really lovely block. Lindsey's super easy to get in touch with and willing to help out. Always looking forward to bringing new people to stay here!

    Olivia2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this place! Cool place, cool host, and a great location. There are a few coffee places close and a great breakfast/brunch place, Surrey's, two blocks away. Beautiful houses and architecture all around. Plenty of resturants in both directions, but in a quite neighborhood. I stayed for a week and would do it again anytime! Thanks Lindsey.

    Nicholas2014-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsey's place was perfect! The photos really don't do it justice. It was everything we needed for a long weekend, and Lindsey made sure that we knew she was around in case we needed anything. The area is pretty convenient, and there's a neat little bar on the corner that was a refuge from the Bourbon Street chaos.

    Mary2014-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Lindsey for the most perfect end to our recent vacation! Your place was magnificent - awesome location (we walked everywhere and loved the local bar and coffee shop), awesome building (I have renovation envy big time and you guys are doing such an amazing job), awesome host (advice, suggestions, welcoming and you checked on us and helped us often - thanks again). People, if you are going to New Orleans this is THE place to stay.

    Charlston2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsey's place is great, I loved the dilapidated style, it was perfect when staying in Nola. The bed is comfy, the shower is ok.

    Gareth2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place, a spacious, tastefully decorated second-story apartment with every amenity one would need, including a great coffee shop across the street and a sipping tavern next door. The building seems to be undergoing a pay-as-you-go renovation, which contributes to the bohemian vibe. The bed is great; there are nice books, cooking utensils and a complete kitchen, but who needs all that? This is New Orleans. Lindsey is accessible, accommodating and knowledgeable about her adopted hometown. Free and plentiful on-street parking is a big plus, too. We really enjoyed our stay here and would do so again.

Half double conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood in the Gentilly area. Only 3 miles from the French Quarter, Superdome, and downtown New Orleans.
Newly built home (June 2016) with two private bedrooms and two private bathrooms. Outdoor deck and grill in back. With private driveway for off-street parking.
The neighborhood is very quiet and conveniently located only 2 miles from Bourbon Street, 3 miles from the Superdome, and centrally located to pretty much any other area of the city.

  • This place was very peaceful a perfect spot for a weekend get away! Donell was the perfect host. Any question or problem I had he was there with a quick response. I will definitely book here again!!!

    Teralyn2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Donnell's place was clean and was within 15 minutes of most of the places we traveled (Treme, Garden City, Lower 9, French Quarter). I will say that some improvements would be to supply coffee/tea, snacks and water, along with instructions on what triggers the auto lock to lock when you leave the home. We had an issue where the auto lock didn't lock when we were ready to leave, so I locked the bottom manual lock, not realizing that I had then locked us out of the house. He was as accommodating as he could be, but we still had to call Pop-A-Lock because he didn't have a spare key and was out of town. You will need to supply your own water, snacks and soap for this home, but it's still worth the stay. I would definitely stay at Donnell's house again on one of my many trips to NOLA.

    Brandes2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean! very quick at responding to any questions!

    Jami2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great comfy house that is close enough to all the local hot spots that driving or Ubering is a valid option. Donnell is a great and communicative host that really makes you feel at home.

    Jacob2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The location was ideal and the pictures accurately reflected the house. It definitely felt like a home away from home. This was my first Airbnb and I had a positive experience. I would keep this place in mind when visiting New Orleans again.

    Tamika2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Donnell was quick to respond. He was welcoming and the home was very inviting. He was also helpful in giving advice on places to go and things to see.

    Miranda2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • My expectations were definitely exceeded. The home was perfect and Donnell was an excellent host.

My place is close to six block from French Quarter, three blocks from Louis Armstrong Park, lots of restaurants and live entertainment. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed and the coziness.
  • Gwen was such a gem!! Her home was absolutely beautiful. It was a once in a lifetime experience. The decor and all the art work in her home make you feel right in the center of the cultural influence of New Orleans!

    Dario2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mrs. Gwendolyn was super sweet. She let us drop our bags off early and allowed us to keep our stuff there before our evening flight once we checked out. Only thing I would change is new curtains so that you don't get woken up by the sun in the morning.

    Trish And Tim2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen was such a sweet lady and very welcoming to us. The house is about a mile from the French Quarter.

  • Amazing place with very warming and welcoming people. Affordable. Quiet. Confortable. Really enjoyed it.

    Samuel2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! Hands down the most unique Air BnB I have stayed in. That being said, you are getting what you're paying for. The room is small and the bathroom could have been cleaner. However, it was perfect for us, just be aware that the rooms are no frills. All in all, a very fair price for such a unique and authentic experience. If I'm ever in NOLA for a night or two again I would stay here.

    Kate2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen is a very sweet woman and great conversationalist. The room was clean and she even had a bottle of champagne waiting for me when I checked in, I will definitely try and stay with Gwen the next time I am in New Orleans. Also very close to the French Quarter, within walking distance!

position, position, position. If that's what you want, this has it. You will be hard pressed to find anything this size and this close to the heartbeat of the musical, gastronomic and cultural delights of New Orleans at this price point. Just 3 blocks to the French Quarter, 1 block from Louis Armstrong Park and 2 blocks from Esplanade, you're smack dab in the middle of trendy Treme, while being an easy stroll or bike ride to the French Quarter, the Marigny or Frenchman St for a nightly musical smorgasbord. Seeking a single/couple of nonsmoking guests who can appreciate a clean and comfortable respite. On a property that houses 3 apartments, historic creole cottage, an attached studio is available for short stays. Newly renovated large studio space with hardwood floor throughout, furnished with leather sofa, desk and kitchen table. Studio has a Kuerig style coffee maker, small mini fringe and microwave. Nola's is not equipped for making meals - just a basic cup of coffee, keeping your drinks cold or reheating your leftovers. Large marble tiled bathroom with bath/shower, vanity and toilet. Small and cosy separate bedroom with double/full sleigh bed and clothes hanging space. Two private locked entrances with fly screen doors separate and independent of main building. AC/heat, controlled temperature. The backyard is shared and a tranquil retreat in the middle of a very central city location. A outdoor table is nestled for communal use in the back courtyard corner. free wifi access, shelf stereo. dvd screen (no TV) and selection of dvds One Night Minimum. Four night maximum. If this accommodation is not available for the dates you seek please check out my 3 other listings on the same property.
Our home is in the historic Treme neighborhood. Treme is definitely a neighborhood in transition and is full of character. If you are expecting pristine looking homes and perfectly groomed lawns, Treme is not the neighborhood for you. Feel free to research more online about the neighborhood.
  • NOLA'S studio was a great retreat close to the French Quarter. Whitney thought of everything we could have possibly needed. She even sat down and went over a map of the area with us. The space was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic! The price was amazing for location and amount of space. I would definitely stay again next time I'm in New Orleans.

    Heather2012-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • NoLa's studio was the first place my husband and I stayed on our honeymoon, and it was great!!! First of all, location: we dropped our bags off and walked two blocks to Louis Armstrong Park where we ran into a second line band! It's a quick walk to the French Quarter and a quick cab ride to mid city, anything you'd want to do on a trip here is easily accessible from this place! The studio itself is basic (no full kitchen), but it's more than enough for a couple to stay comfortably, and it's very affordable! The A/C is welcoming in the NoLa heat, however if you can handle it I recommend lounging in their spacious shared yard on the hammock! Whitney and her husband Tom are super friendly and accommodating, they are great hosts and their apts are really wonderful. I highly recommend staying here!

    Shira2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Listing was a bit different that the pictures posted. There were no curtains and the outside light were on all night. That made sleeping difficult aside from the awkward bed. It was like sleeping on an air mattress and there was an inverted incline, so my husband and I actually slept at the foot of the bed with our feet toward the headboard. The room(s) were tidy but not clean. It was easy to see water spots all over the floor on the bathroom. It clearly had not been mopped. The tub was disgusting, obviously not bleached in a while and their was mold on the shower curtain. One of the two ceiling fans did not work. The freezer was almost entirely frozen over so we were unable to use it to freeze water in our water bottles- a huge disappointment since it was VERY warm/humid while we were there. This room does not have control of the heating/cooling. I had to ask for the temp to be turned down so we could sleep. Then I had to ask again the next night. We gave up after that. The host should have checked in to see if we were comfortable. It was NOT WORTH THE MONEY. We were very disappointed with this place.

    Brynn2015-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable spot to stay - very close to the quarter. Highly recommended!

    Rachel2016-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Belinda's place was fantastic and she really knows a ton about great music venues in NOLA. After a few days of staying in the French Quarter, we decided to stay with Belinda and check out the city away from Bourbon. The fact that she had bikes and great advice for the Bywater, a nice bottle of wine waiting for us, and a quiet place for us to read, made this the highlight of our trip.

    Dana2011-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a nice, quiet, clean place to stay while on a return visit to New Orleans. It had everything I needed and was in walking distance to a lot of attractions and public transportation. I could go out, have fun and return to a nice place to rest. I would definitely stay here again.

    Brian2012-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • New England boys wilt a bit in New Orleans come July. My apt. at NOLA's was a veritable oasis. Belinda has her (and my) favorite cab driver, Carol, on speed dial, so my trips back and forth to the convention center ($12) and the airport ($30) were quick, easy, and cool.

    Brian2012-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really charming and relaxing studio in a perfect location. It's close enough to walk safely to just about anywhere, but quiet enough to allow you to get some rest. The studio is comfortable and very nicely decorated.

We lovingly renovated our home on St. Roch Ave. with the intention of creating the perfect airbnb. It is a 5 min. walk to the Marigny/Bywater, a 15 min. walk to Frenchmen Street, & brand new street car line on Rampart. Which takes you into the heart of the French Quarter, CBD, Superdome & all other main attractions! A quick uber/lyft ride to anywhere in the city including Audubon Park, City Park, or the fairgrounds. Includes Keyless Entry, Coffee Station, Fridge & Microwave
  • The room was spotless and beautifully decorated. They struck a good balance between original and updated. The bed was super comfortable-- probably the most comfy bed I've ever had in an Airbnb. I have to mention that there is quite a bit of traffic on the street next to the house. My BF slept fine, I had earplugs and was fine.

    Ana2017-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here the unit was extremely clean, well stocked, very private and super comfortable. Very homey!!! Everything was brand new! They did an amazing job with this house remodel! Perfect location.... very easy to catch an UBER to anywhere we wanted to go! The host was very responsive and gave me great restaurant suggestions, including one for a very special birthday dinner. We will be back for sure

  • Nice place and easy access to the French Quarter.

  • We loved staying at Elizabeth's. The room is very private and very clean. We greatly appreciated the suggestions of restaurants and bars. The bed was extremely comfortable and the Keurig was a very thoughtful touch. We looked forward to coming back to the Airbnb after a night out. Elizabeth responded very quickly as well which was highly appreciated. The only (extremely minor) downside was location. Its right on the road and you can hear cars go by and when a particularly big car goes by, it shakes the home a little bit. This didn't bother us too much though. All in all, I loved staying here and would recommend anyone to! If we ever find ourselves in New Orleans again, we will definitely be staying here again!

    Rochelle2017-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • The space is so comfortable and cute. We loved all of the local recommendations Elizeth provided and we went to a few that were awesome. The street noise is definitely apparent, but she provided ear plugs, and if you can sleep with headphones, that helps too. It was about and $8 lyft ride to the French quarter, and the market on the end of the street is so nice too! This was a vet comfortable place to stay.

    Liz2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time!

    Shannon2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as we expected from the reviews. The keypad did malfunction upon our arrival, but Elizabeth was very helpful with getting us in. Will be back!

    Brett2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The space was awesome! Perfect for a couple . It was our first time in New Orleans so at first we were a little apprehensive but it ended up being way beyond expectations! It was like a 10-12 min drive to French Quarter and about a $8 uber ride . There was so many things in the room to make you feel at home. The owners had a Kurieg coffe machine, microwave, mini fridge, & Apple TV. It was perfect! I loved it so much!

Enjoy our quaint guesthouse located in the historic Treme. Take advantage of the many pleasures of our city with quick and easy access to the French Quarter, City Park, Fairgrounds, Bayou St. John + Lafitte Greenway. Or kick back and enjoy a second line that might come right down our street.
Guests have a private and secure entrance to our guest house. We designed a space with our guests in mind. A space where you can relax and unwind, watch a movie on the couch or in bed, do work, or enjoy our lovely backyard. We have a brand new comfy double bed and couch that converts into a twin bed.
We live in the historic Treme neighborhood of New Orleans. You can Uber, bike, or walk to the French Quarter, enjoy local eateries such as Willie Mae's, Dookie Chase or Crescent City Steaks, run to the Bayou or City Park, and walk to the local theater or Whole Foods. If you are lucky, you could walk out and into a second line. This is the place to be particularly on Mardi Gras day and during Jazz Fest. We are centrally located and can most places in the city in 10-15 minutes by car, bike, or Uber.
  • Liz is a great host that makes you really feel like home. She went above and beyond on some of my requests, and knowledgeable about New Orleans in every way. I will definitely come back and stay with her again.

    Betsy2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Liz's place is not only comfortable, but stunning and aesthetically pleasing. The room was more than comfortable, the bed was a hit your head on the pillow and fall asleep kind of feel. The cleanliness was perfect and the location is just a short walk to town straight down the street. Very private and Liz was super responsive and hospitable. We enjoyed every moment and will recommend this to friends and family. We will definitely be back to NOLA and Liz's place will be the first place we look to stay. Such an awesome place!

  • Liz's place is awesome! It's what I want my home to look like. Beautifully decorated and she's thought of all the things you might need or forgot. It's an easy uber ride to other neighborhoods. She's a quick and thoughtful communicator who is super friendly and very helpful. Stay here when you visit Nola!

Our Mid-City private unit is 1 block off Canal St and the street car, walking distance to City Park and several other amazing local neighborhood bars and restaurants. A 5-10 minute drive to downtown & FQ or walk a block to the streetcar stop Some notable amenities-Full kitchen, central air/heat, WiFi, LCD television & Cable, Washer/dryer, full bath. Living amenities: Queen bed, futon, linens, towels & washcloths, pots/pans & dishes and basic necessities like toilet paper and paper towels.
Completely renovated half of a "shotgun double" (essentially a duplex for those not familiar with New Orleans), about 650 sq/ft. Our home was built in the early part of the 20th century (c. 1906). Through our renovation, we took extensive measures to maintain the historic nature of our home and fuse with modern conveniences.
Mid City is a great part of town to spend your time in New Orleans because it's roughly a 10 minute drive to just about any tourist attraction you might enjoy (e.g. in the French Quarter, CBD or Uptown). It's a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, and also has some of the best places to eat and visit for entertainment in the city. There's always street parking in front of or near our house if you bring your car, which is safe to leave and there is no cost for parking.
  • This location was perfect! Just two blocks from the Canal street trolley, we bought three day passes to use. Glenn left us a list of tips and suggestions that was very helpful. We were a twenty minute trolley ride to the French Quarter. Close enough to get to easily, but far enough that it was quiet when we got back. A quiet, friendly neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

  • We had a fantastic time at Glenns place. The whole house was spotless and looked brand new, and there was a tv in both livingroom and bedroom. Glenn was so kind as to give us a few recommendations and leave us some basic stuff to use in the kitchen (tea, coffee, water,...). He and his wife live nextdoor but are very discreet. Although the house is a bit away from downtown (naar the lovely city park), it is easy to reach by public transport, and obviously by car. Top stay, would recommend.

    Tessel2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn was an awesome host! Extremely helpful in all aspects - gave us multiple lists of places to check or for live music, food, etc., offered to pick things up from the grocery store for us, extremely flexible about check-in/check-out. Airbnb was in a great neigborhood with plenty of local spots to check out but also only a short uber ride to French quarter and other exciting scenes! Would definitely recommend Glenn's place!

    Melissa2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay!

    John2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, very friendly and helpful hosts.

    Tambet2018-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn was absolutely fabulous - very personable and easy going. The rental was exactly as described - modern and very clean. We really liked the style of the place and loved having such a nice kitchen. It was wonderfully situated - easy streetcar ride to French Quarter. I really enjoyed mid-City - much nicer and hipper than the Garden District where my family stayed, and we also felt safer. Would absolutely stay here again and would be so lucky to rent from Glenn again. He gave us wonderful suggestions for food and public transit.

  • Fabulous place for two or even a family of three or four. Perfect location. Close to streetcar, restaurants, the cemeteries, and citypark and noma. Very nicely renovated. Clean and bright. Thoughtful hosts. Perfect

  • We had a great time at Roberts place, just a short cab ride from the French Quarters. The neighborhood is quiet and have some restaurants walking distance.

  • i have never had a better airbnb experience ... the place was perfect. upon arrival you are greeted by robert myers housekeeper who will walk you through everything . They have wine and snacks galore. the place is wonderful and well kept in great neighborhood. i was moving a lot but i did enjoy the jacuzzi.

  • We spent a week exploring the old neighborhoods based at this authentic Bywater shotgun. It was exactly as advertised and in a wonderful location. Leslie was a perfect host. He was completely understanding when our travel plans went awry because of airline delays and cancellations. He was attentive and available whenever we wanted him and very respectful of our privacy. He was thoughtful about what we might need in the cottage and it was so well stocked with drinks, snacks and water. Make sure you allow some time to chat with him - he's delightful. You will know you are immersed in the city and the neighborhood if you stay here.

    Gayle2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was beautiful and Leslie the host was very nice and accommodating. Overall a wonderful experience.

    Nathan2016-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing (Website hidden by Airbnb) wife and I stayed here again to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Very romantic. Very New Orleans. Ernie - the caretaker - is incredible at his job, and is quick to help with any problem or question with kindness. Both he and Robert clearly take pride in this wonderful property. The neighborhood is safe, and filling up with new restaurants and bars - a great location to spend away from the madness of the Quarter & Frenchman (but you're close enough to them when you want to visit). You're also close enough to walk to places in the Marigny. There's no kitchen, but you really shouldn't be spending your time in New Orleans cooking (there is a microwave and coffee maker). One of the best AirBNB experiences we've had; we'll definitely be back next time we're in NOLA.

    Daniel2013-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place is a great authentic neighborhood. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place but in a more interesting neighborhood. Restaurants and coffee shops were great. Ernie the keeper was amazing and were gracious. He gave us great recommendations and directions to everything needed. He also came daily to clean. Very very rare airbnb experience.

    Alexis2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot tell you how absolute amazing this home is! It is only shadowed by the hospitality of Robert, Ernie & Shane! They brought the home, NOLA and Louisiana to life for us! I would never stay anywhere else. I had the luxury of coming home to my own 1800 French antique decorated authentic shotgun home and soaking in the amazing bath every night after walking, eating , shopping and dancing my heart in downtown! I have to tell you also the surrounding block house's several 5 star gems to come home to! Once I found suis generis around the corner, I ate there every night! Nightly 5-star sell-out food! After dinning and drinking fine champagnes one block from the house, on the one block walk home, after 9ish, this wonderful corner 5-star lounge opens in candlelight! So does the art gallery across the street, and you can even catch a yoga class on the other corner. My stay at Louisa house was nothing short of amazing! Plenty of parking, (although I DID NOT need my car) Great taxi drivers, and a short $9 cab ride to downtown! How do you beat all that, but to do it again! Thank you Robert and family! -Evemarie

    Eve2014-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our host Robert made us feel very welcome. He kept in contact right up to the moment of our arrival at his beautiful home. First, Ernie greeted us upon our arrival and gave us an amazing tour. No detail was left unattended, from the complementary wine, snacks, fresh fruit, coffee and tea to the his-and-hers toiletries in the sumptuous bathroom. We wondered if we were going to want to leave the house in order to see New Orleans. We did venture out, taking both Ernie and Robert's recommendations, which kept us busy throughout our stay. The neighborhood is wonderful, with every kind of delicious cuisine and beverage available within easy walking distance. Transportation was easy as well, so that we were in other parts of the city, including the French and Garden quarters with little effort or expense. Throughout our stay, Ernie attended to the housekeeping and kept the supplies well stocked. A longer stay is definitely in order next time. We highly recommend staying in Robert's home in a real New Orleans neighborhood.

  • Our stay with Nick and Lindsay was very nice and communication worked great! The house was, exactly as described, in a cosy location, just a short walk from downtown, and perfect for exploring the city. Thank you very much:)

  • Top location situated only a few minutes from the French Quarter within walking distance but far enough to get a quiet and tight sleep. We enjoyed staying at Nick and Lindsay's place. The room was just as described. Very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. We got to meet very lovely, helpful and hospitable people. Who answered right away whenever we needed something and they gave us excellent tips for restaurant and activities. We do definitely recommend this place! Thank you again Nick and Lindsay

    Emma2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The stay with Nick and Lindsay was very pleasant. They communicated with me the day of the trip and gave us instructions on how to let ourselves in(which was very simple). The house is close to the French quarter and was exactly like the pictures. There were towels and wash cloths for us to use. They even offered champagne when we arrived. The interaction with them while we were there was minimal as they were working. You do sleep on a pull out couch. I knew that before booking and was fine with it. Street parking was easy to find right outside the house. Great price for location. I loved the house.

    Amanda2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay are super chill and super cool! They have a beautiful home and were very hospitable. It was just as advertised, probably better. We had a lovely afternoon basking in the sun in their courtyard area. Location couldn't be better.

  • Great hosts, good location, and cozy place. They were very informative and kind. Clean and comfortable rooms with amazing decoration and artwork all over. The place is in walking distance to many night life spots. I did walk back after midnight from Bourbon street and felt very secure in the neighbor. I could tell that they are great people if you want to hang out with. Overall, highly recommanded

One of a kind house overlooking Bourbon St. and Orleans Ave. across from the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. This overlooks Bourbon Street in the exact center of the French Quarter.
This is an upstairs unit with a corner Bourbon Street balcony in the middle of one of the most iconic locations in the city.
This is a unique place and you will be living in the very center of the French Quarter. I love our neighborhood because of its uniqueness, diversity, and liveliness. It is so rich with history and recognizable around the world as " New Orleans". Whether it's 3 o'clock in afternoon or 3 o'clock in the morning, there is always something going on in the French Quarter.
  • Great location.

  • It was so great renting this Airbnb and we absolutely loved the fact that it was right on bourbon street with a balcony! It was right in our price range with all of the amenities we were looking for! We wish that it wasn’t during construction but are definitely going to be renting this same Airbnb the next time we are down in New Orleans! The host was amazing and before we even got there sent us all of the info we needed, along with the WiFi and help with parking recommendations! Thank you so much! We had an absolute blast!

  • The room was great and the location was amazing 100% worth the money. The ear plugs the host provides are a must and completely blocked out all noise. The only complaint we had was with the shower. The temperature was not really able to be controlled. It went back and forth from warm to ice cold.

One bedroom, ground level apartment in quiet City Park Triangle. Walk to City Park, Jazz Fest, and street car to French Quarter. Fenced yard with gazebo and fire pit. Short walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping.
City Park Triangle is a quiet and safe neighborhood. It is very well located to provide easy access (1/2 block) to City Park (Art Museum, Botanical Gardens, Morning Call) and just 0.4 miles to N. Carrolton Ave to restaurants, shopping and a stop for the Canal St. streetcar line to the French Quarter, Convention Center, WWII Museum and much, much more.

  • Great location and cute spot, but we were given a wrong entry code and had a hard time reaching the host to gain access. We were in a big rush to get to rehearsal dinner so this was very inconvenient. We were quite disappointed as we’ve never had this trouble before staying in Airbnb locations.

    Cylas2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Okay, simply put; this place is great! Located in the CBD between Canal and Poydras, so its a great walking location, easy to catch an Uber and the streetcar is close by. The studio is as described in the pictures and wonderfully decorated (to be honest I wanted to buy the place)! And that skylight you see in the pictures is Amazing! But if you don't want the sunlight in the morning, maybe because you had a few too many daiquiris or hand grenades, it has remote control shutters. I was contacted the day I arrived and had great communication with Anthony throughout the trip. There is a washer and dryer (with tide pods) for use. All the appliances work, there are dishes you can use if needed (most importantly coffee mugs). Parking: If you bring a car there is a garage 1/2 a block up $25/24hours (not in and out parking) this is good if you just want to park the car and not worry about it. There is parking on the street but if you are new to the city, pay attn to the hours. I highly recommend this place and will likely return on my next trip.

Why rent a room when you can rent a tiny house for your trip to New Orleans. This 650 sq ft home is just steps away from the French Quarter. Everything from Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, streetcar, bikeshare, and the Central Business District are all just a short stroll away. Private entrance through luscious garden. Perfect for a couple or a couple of friends. Cleaning free is included in nightly rate so there are no extra hidden fees with this listing. (City License: 18STR-15360)
Our guesthouse is located in the rear of our property. Estimated to have been built in 1837 (the same date as the main house), this space has gone through a total transformation. A mix of modern and old New Orleans bundled into a small house. There are 8 sets of French doors, and 4 sets of casement windows, allowing for the space to be drenched in natural light. When the weather is nice and a cool breeze is blowing, there is nothing better than opening all the doors and windows so you can take in all the sounds the neighborhood has to offer. Downstairs is an open living room and kitchen area with a complete 4 piece kitchen suite (full sized fridge stocked with bottled water and a Keurig with coffee), and a moveable island. There is also a flat screen TV with DVR, HBO (so you don't have to worry about missing Game of Thrones), Netflix and Amazon Prime. Netflix and Prime are already logged in for you to use. A spiral staircase leads you upstairs where there is a king sized bed, walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and 12 foot ceilings with exposed beams. Want to lounge outside? Hang out in the shared courtyard or if you prefer privacy there is a private patio behind the guesthouse. Parties over 2 persons will not be considered and will be turned away upon arrival. Parking is street parking which is unrestricted and free to all. Cleaning fee is included in the nightly rate so there is no extra hidden fees when staying with us. (City License: 18STR-15360)
The Treme is a wonderful and unique neighborhood unlike any other in the United States. St. Augustine Church is on the corner, which leads to many Jazz Funerals and Second Lines. The church also has an amazing Sunday Mass that is open to the public. As a younger nephew noted, "It's not really Sunday Mass, it's a concert!" Mardi Gras Indians regularly wander the neighborhood, as well as brass bands, musicians, and a pair of cowboys who are always walking their llamas, Shetland ponies, and goats. There is always something going on and the people in the neighborhood are friendly and talkative. You can learn just as much about New Orleans from the folks on the street in the Treme as you could with a tour guide charging you an arm and a leg to walk around the Quarter.
  • This place is just as good as it sounds. It actually is just steps to the Quarter, the house is great - with an incredible courtyard! - and the hosts were friendly, responsive, and ready with lots of great suggestions for seeing NoLa.

    Lane2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! It was like a magical garden getaway in the middle of an incredible part of the city. We couldn't have had a better time, and Brad was a great host.

    Shannon2015-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a wonderful stay in Brad & Bret's Treme guesthouse. This is a terrific place in a historic part of New Orleans. Bret made sure that we had everything we needed and offered some great suggestions on local places to check out. They did a remarkable job updating and although the guesthouse is only 700 square feet, the high ceilings made it seem much bigger. We had a friend join us on the 2nd day and the futon on the first floor was perfect for the extra guest. I would certainly stay here again!

    Jason2016-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay in New Orleans! The location was phenomenal and both Brad and Bret were great hosts. I hope to be able to stay here again on my next trip to New Orleans.

    Russell2016-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • I honestly have nothing but praise for this wee gem just off the French Quarter! Brad was super helpful on text and we met Bret and he was an absolute sweetheart. The space is beautiful, just like the pictures. Only a short walk and you are hitting Bourbon Street and Jackson Square. I couldn't recommend it enough. Nice and quiet at night, comfortable beds, clean and plenty of supplies. They have it all! Thank you both.

    Marie2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a warm wonderful Treme and Nola welcome from our hosts. It was a great choice and so close to great restaurants and music. A perfect location with wonderful neighbors we met while there.

    Gigi2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood that's easy to get to so many other areas. Great place. Great hosts. You can't go wrong staying here. We're looking forward to coming back.

    Marlise2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • A checklist of what I was looking for in a host: - Certain amount of privacy - Clean environment - Knowledge of surrounding area - Location My stay with Bret & Brad exceeded that list. These gentlemen are experienced hosts and will be my first option when returning to New Orleans. The property is gorgeous, quiet, and secluded. Towels, dishes, and supplies were all clean and overstocked. If you have a chance to stay here be sure to ask about this history of the property because you're in for a treat!

This lovely apartment is five minutes across the Mississippi by ferry from the French Quarter. I am a registered host with New Orleans and my permit number is 18STR-05677. Enjoy downtown New Orleans has to offer and come back to a cozy and safe neighborhood and home. You’ll love my place because of new amenities, quiet oak-lined streets, porch and backyard access. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
This is one half of a 106 year old home originally built in 1907. I just finished completing extensive work in the apartment including refinishing the floors to their original pine. The house still includes many of its original features including transoms over the doors. It is a shotgun style apartment, typical to New Orleans, in that all of the rooms are interconnected. The street is beautiful and lined with hundred year old Oak trees. The trees are also a nesting ground for herons! The bedrooms are private but you would have to walk through the house to get to the bathroom. I live on the other side of the home and love to meet people from all over the world. So feel free to ask me for restaurant/ bar/ outings suggestions! The home is cozy but it does not include central AC and heating. There are space heaters however and window units for the AC. The kitchen is newly renovated and has all the appliances needed. Same goes for the bathroom! Also please enjoy the art in the second room of the home in particular! My boyfriend Duane is a collage artist and works out of that space when it is not being rented for travelers. The porch overlooks the only oak tree lined street in Algiers Point. There is a nice patio in the backyard if you would like to sit outside. Washer and dryer is available in the back shed for your use. It's a cozy home, the neighborhood is safe to walk around in at night and only five minutes from the French Quarter by ferry!
Algiers Point is probably one of the prettiest neighborhoods in the city to walk around in. There are beautiful views of the river, historic homes, treelined streets. It's idyllic. There are also a handful of bars in the neighborhood you can check out to get a taste of some of the characters that live here. Expect to run into a ton of older artists and musicians.
  • Outstanding house and respite from downtown! Beautiful, historic area, was super easy to get downtown using the ferry (cheap too (Website hidden by Airbnb) Would highly recommend Maris place when staying in Nola

  • Great place to stay!

  • We had an amazing time staying in NOLA and this place is lovely, clean, and convenient to getting in and out of the quarter! Just a short walk to the ferry and then endless fun in the quarter from there. Mari met us with our keys when we arrived and made checking out a breeze on our last day. All in all a perfect stay!

  • Ideal location if you are looking for a traditional home just a short distance away from the centre of New Orleans and it’s tourists - but close enough to get to French Quarter in only a few minutes walk - taking the river taxi straight across into the main sight seeing most area’s.

    Rich2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious home/apartment and easy parking, very clean bathroom, we enjoyed our one night stay.

    Gabriel2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an amazing place to stay, the house is beautiful, the neighborhood is even more pretty (very peaceful and gives a sense of safety that other places lack). There's nothing bad to say about this place. We will definitely look for it if we come back to New Orleans.

    Juan2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute and cozy!

    Wil2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Mari's place is so cute! Great neighborhood- close to the action in the french quarter, but not smack in the middle of it. Mari is a very communicative host who is there if you need anything but you'd never know she was there if you don't need anything. Lots of interesting art and cute decor. We didn't use the kitchen much, but there were lots of cookbooks! we'd recommend her place to anyone visiting NOLA.

Located on the grand promenade of historic Treme, fully equipped: coffeemaker, refri, micro, TV, Free wifi , 2 full beds ( 4 guestsl) 1 futon sofa bed, and kitchenette. 1.4 miles, 25min/walk to French quarter, 5 min. Whole food market, Willie Maes Restaurant, and close to the system of transportation.
There is room to park in front of 2636 Saint Ann, on the street next to the orange cone, (one side of a duplex house) or you could park cross street if there is not much traffic.
The neighborhood is safe, but still, it is in process of recovering since hurricane Katrina.
  • We had a great time at Fernando’s place. It was perfect spot to enjoy NOLA before we left on our cruise. Access was a breeze and it was a quick uber ride to all the local bars.

    MacKenzie2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fernandos place was perfect for 4 people and a couple of nights in New Orleans. It was very clean with a nice bathroom. It is within driving distance to the French Quarter and nearby restruants.

    Sam2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fernando's place was easy, accessible and seamless. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in New Orleans on a budget.

    Clayton2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house was so cool and nice! It was the perfect set up! The location was also perfect, a quick walk but the neighborhood was a little sketchy, but again it was such a quick walk to bourbon it wasn't to much of a concern! Thank you for your hospitality!!! We love NOLA!

    Sarah2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay. Was cheap, clean and a $7 to $10 Uber ride to the French quarter.

    Kayla2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great, especially for the price. Though we didn't really ask for anything, Fernando was there to greet us when we arrived and he offers several things to make our stay even better, if we needed such. Location was not far from where we wanted to go, so short Uber rides to our destination of about $6 was the norm. House was very clean and perfect for our purpose. Thanks, Fernando!

    Bob2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very cute! Very nice, three beds to use, bathroom in nice condition. He leaves plenty of reading materials and maps for guests and they were incredibly helpful! It is near Willie Mae's and the 91 bus. Fernando is very quick to respond to guests of they need anything and is very friendly.

    Amanda2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing value for 3 friends traveling together. Clean, 3 full beds, and private. Highly recommend as long as you don't mind übering places. It's off the beaten path but that was perhaps a pro at times.

Need advice on where to eat or what to see? Then we've got you covered. New Orleans has so much more to offer than Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street. Our goal is to make your New Orleans visit as rich and wonderful as the city itself. Getting off the beaten path on vacation can sometimes be a risk but here you will be handsomely rewarded. Everything is close by in our small, intimate city. Grab a cab and head down to the French Quarter or for a more authentic experience hop on the Canal Street Car. Either way its a short journey. Get to know what New Orleans is truly about by staying in one of her coolest neighborhoods.
  • Hollis' place was a dream, as the many, many positive review of his place attest to. He picked us up from the airport promptly and, drawing on his role as the King of Mardi Gras, gave us tons of suggestions for where to eat and visit, all of which lived up to his praise. There was stuff we went to that only a local would have known about, and we only knew about thanks to Hollis. The place was beautiful, clean and tidy, and only a short bus trip or taxi ride from the centre of town. And Hollis himself is a great guy. Definitely highly recommended.

    Branko2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Hollis's home is very clean and the amenities are excellent. Well worth the money.

    Jim2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say? Hollis is an AMAZING host. He was super helpful with all of my needs, from where to go and how to get around. He is truly the King of New Orleans. He knows everyone. The house/accommodations are so nice. I am very keen on staying in a clean house (especially bathrooms) and room. Hollis keeps the place immaculate. It definitely meets my very high standards. This place is a steal for the price and it can accommodate a car (easy street parking).

    Ivory2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean and nice, Hollis was easy to work with. Would definitely return!

  • Great!

    Yolanda2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place, great location, decoration and space. It is very clean. The only thing that didn't match with the description is that the bathroom is shared instead of private. I will definitely recommend it!

    Claudia2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house was nicely decorated and clean, with easy access to bus routes into town. Hollis also gives lifts so it's easy to get about. We stayed for 4 nights and were out most days, but he was friendly and welcoming and always just a text or phone call away. You get a key so it's easy to come / go. Thanks!

Please see calendar for daily rates! Some days are lower than others!
Built in the 1860's, "Little Orange" is half of a "shotgun"; thus, it boasts the hallmarks of traditional New Orleans architecture: 13 foot ceilings, cypress mantels, pocket doors, tall shuttered windows, and hardwood floors. The shutters are a vibrant orange to remind you of this city's Caribbean spirit. Bienvenue aux tropiques! The apartment is fully furnished and appointed, the space comprised of a living-room (with queen pull-out couch), equipped kitchen, one bedroom, and small bath. There's wifi, a large flat screen TV, burglar alarm, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer. And a great book collection too. The apartment is best suited for two people; however, it can sleep four when using the pull-out couch. As of Sept. 2016, there's a brand new Queen mattress in the bedroom: it's a Comfort Dreams Select-A Memory Foam (medium-firm) and very comfortable! Please know that when the couch is extended in the living-room, that common space radically shrinks. There's a $25 fee per adult guest #3 and #4. There is no additional fee for children. The front porch overlooks a full block of green space (Annunciation Square Park), home to many soccer and kickball games. There's a basketball court in the park as well (and so a basketball sits in the bedroom closet for you too). I spend more time on the porch than I do in the living-room. The porch also overlooks my small--but robust!--butterfly garden where a small fountain burbles. It's a great place to drink coffee in the morning and wine in the evening, and I hope the night-blooming jasmine is working its perfume when you're here! The apartment is an easy stroll to lower Magazine Street, known for its many boutiques, antique shops, bars, and eateries, as well as to the Warehouse District/CBD and French Quarter. Please check out my map/guidebook! I've mainly tagged places to which you can easily stroll, but I'm happy to offer suggestions for outings in farther flung areas of town. The house is not far from the Convention Center, Mardi Gras World/Productions, The Chicory (wedding venue) and Second Line Stages. If you are in town for a conference/event or working on a film, my location can't be beat. Likewise, if you're in town for a game, a cheap cab ride gets you to the Super dome quickly. This neighborhood has been dubbed one of New Orleans' hottest for obvious reasons. There really is a ton to see and do (and eat) right here. For those interested in getting out to explore other parts of the city/state, it's worth knowing that my location offers convenient access to I-10. No need to traverse all of uptown or the Quarter to find the interstate. The on-ramp is three blocks away, which means the West Bank is five minutes away, the airport, 20 without traffic. If you don't have a car, the bus runs along both Magazine and Tchoupitoulas. I bought this property for its convenience of location. Although the apartment is an easy distance to many hot spots, the neighborhood itself is quiet--another reason I bought this property. Your sleep will not be disturbed by traffic or street cheer. The Mississippi rolls by just two blocks away, so the hood has a sultry "edge of town" feel. I love this about it. Neither uptown nor downtown, it floats in between, spooned by the river(URL HIDDEN) Regretfully, pets are not allowed.
Lower Magazine Street is made for wandering. Just two blocks away, it offers an endless stream of boutiques, cafes, bars, coffee shops, and restaurants of all price ranges. Many guests choose to devote one full day to exploring Magazine. In terms of immediate surroundings, my neighbor is restoring a gorgeous, but run-down, New Orleans Greek-revival mansion. He is doing the work himself (!) with the help of family and friends (it is an impressive undertaking), so his construction work is intermittent. Often there are sizable breaks between bursts. For the most part, it is quite quiet, but construction work does flare up from time to time. As 99% of previous reviews attest, noise is not a regular feature of Little Orange life, yet all potential guests should indeed be aware of the potential for construction noise. Whenever my neighbor communicates his work schedule, I will pass this info along to potential as well as confirmed future guests.

This is a "mother in law" apartment added to my house in the 60's. Its a separate residence from my house and although attached there is no access between the two dwellings. Minutes to the French Quarter, downtown, the lakefront, and Mid City. Sure, you can find cooler places in hipper neighborhoods but you will pay ALOT more. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
It's a small (400 sqft) mother in law that was added in the 60's. It cozy and has "charm" in its own way. The bathroom is a kitschy 60's yellow with black trim, and the kitchen boasts a vintage Anderson stove from the 50's. No doubt moved from the main house after the renovation, the stove is like an old Cadillac. It's huge! I have cooked on it a bunch and I actually want to restore it and put it back in the big house. Someday, but for now you can enjoy it. All the burners work, as well as the broiler and hot plate. I never did try and fire up the slow cooker. Currently the oven thermostat is malfunctioning so if your yearning to bake I'll hook you up with my oven. The apartment could use a real renovation as the kitchen cabinets and floors are old and dated but it's not going to happen for a while, hence the low price. It's clean, and we keep it nice, besides you didn't come all the way here to spend time in a house.
Gentilly is quiet suburb just 3 miles north of the French Quarter of traditionally working class families. The homes are larger, and spaced on larger lots than some of the older more historic neighborhoods. My house was built in the 1920's, on gentilly ridge. It's the highest point around, and was high ground for Katrina. We were an island during Katrina, Betsy, and Camille! Getting around is easy. We are centrally located with fast access to the quarter, Mid City, the Fairgrounds, City Park, and the lakefront. You can be almost anywhere in the city in under 10 minutes or less.
  • This place is located in a quiet, residential area not too far from the French Quarter. The unit was comfortable and spacious, a really great find for the price. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Ariel2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my stay here. Flat was really well equipped and although a car would be handy, the bus was just round the corner and an easy trip into town. Was really nice to have a clean place to come home too after a long day sightseeing and I loved the retro touches in the flat!

  • We had a great time at Joe's place! The house was very comfortable and had a unique New Orleans feel. We would definitely choose this Airbnb again if we come back!

  • Most of everything you want to do is no more than 15 minutes away. Alot of places are cash only but that's about it.

    Sabriya2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Joe's. It was so clean and a big space for 2. It was right around the corner from a bus stop that comes around every 30 mins & about an 11 minute uber from downtown. Very comfy bed & even though we didn't get to see Joe as we came late & left early he was super quick to respond whenever we had a question. If we come to New Orleans again we'd definitely stay at Joe's. So homey!

Victorian-style 100+ year old house on Frenchmen Street -- home of the best collection of jazz clubs in New Orleans -- and still only blocks from the French Quarter.
ROSE ROOM Frenchmen House is my home. I share it with my dog, Charles (a huge, cuddly golden retriever), Molly (king of the feline world), and my airbnb guests. I have three guest rooms. The house retains the architectural details that make New Orleans homes interesting and beautiful -- 13 ft. ceilings, transom windows, original wood floors, and double parlor with functioning pocket doors. Very few renovations have altered this original home, and its charm represents the homes of its era. The house is a side-hall shotgun, so unlike a traditional shotgun, one does not have to walk thru each room to get to the next. Great backyard for entertaining -- very private courtyard setting. Smoking is allowed in the backyard. PARKING: Easy on street parking, no meters, no time restrictions and always spaces available on my block.
I love that my neighborhood is just far enough away from the hubbub to be (relatively) quiet and actually be able to park a car, yet close enough to be in the midst of it all with a very short walk.
  • Things I Loved Here: 1. Super clean and organized. 2. Well prepared with items you might have forgotten to take with you. 3. Cute and friendly cat and dog. 4. Lots of art hanging around.

    Donna2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my friend started off our road trip in New Orleans and spended our first nights in the Rose Room. The house is cosy, the beds are soft and the porch is a class of its own :-) Left the house with loads of energy to continue our road trip which can't be anything other than a good grade on the house ;-)

    Amanda2013-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely room in house that had charm on the inside, funk on the outside. The neighborhood borders the French Quarter and is perfect for anyone seriously into jazz.

    Audrey2015-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jo's place was great. Located 50 steps from a brand new streetcar stop which takes you right through town, touring around was ideal. She is also a 7 minute walk to the great music scene of northern Frenchmen Street and a 15 minute walk to the French market and the riverfront which is where you can catch the riverfront streetcar. Communication was great, the bed was unbelievable and so comfy! Loved the decor.

    Gillian2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in a good location. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

    Stephen2018-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house is big and nice and the price is great. Robert is a great host and provided tea and coffee and extra blankets! Our room was big and the bed was comfy.

    Jill2011-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second year in a row staying with Robert and Joanne. It is our first choice whenever we travel to NOLA. As always, the house is great, it has a wonderful back yard--other than the hordes of dangerous killer caterpillars ;) and a great location. We also met some lovely british people this year who were also staying with Joanne and Robert and we had a few adventures together. Look, you either get this style of travel or you don't. if you want an experience which more closely approximates living in NOLA, pick a place like this.

    Steve2012-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our 3-night stay was excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable, and Robert, Jo and their dog, Star, were welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend!

Private guest suite in a beautiful, historic, and newly renovated home. This charming suite comes with a sitting area, kitchenette, dining/working table, private bath, and bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed. This is not a shared space. Have a peaceful retreat in Holy Cross, a quiet neighborhood located just 15 minutes from the French Quarter by car. We're four blocks away from the Mississippi River and the best sunset views in the city!
The guest suite is a bright and cheery place, full of natural light and located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. It's the ideal place to have a little retreat, or to relax and recharge before a night out on the town. The suite is located at the front of the house with a private entrance (the front door), so you can come and go as you please. You will share a wall with my living area, but you will not have access to my portion of the house, and vice versa. Feel free to help yourself to anything in the suite! This includes coffee, tea, and oatmeal. Some bottled water is provided, but water from the bathroom sink is also safe to drink. There is plenty of storage space for your things, including a closet in the bedroom with hangers, two nightstands with empty drawers, and a medicine cabinet and vanity in the bathroom. The bedroom has a full-length mirror behind the door so you can make sure that your outfit is on point before leaving the house, and there are earplugs and a white noise machine for restless sleepers (though all you're likely to hear is the occasional car going by, we live on a very quiet street).
Holy Cross is a beautiful, peaceful, and historic neighborhood located in the Lower 9th Ward. It's only a 10 to 15 minute drive from the French Quarter, and 20 to 30 minutes from the Garden District. This neighborhood strikes a balance between the feeling of country and city. Many locals live if here because they want a quieter experience of the city. The levee that overlooks the Mississippi River is just four blocks away. You can walk or run the levee for a few miles in either direction and enjoy beautiful views of downtown New Orleans, passing cargo ships and steamboats. It's really something else. Holy Cross is located in the Lower Ninth Ward, which is one of the areas that was most effected by Katrina. As a result, the neighborhood is still being rebuilt. Like many places in New Orleans, you will see newly renovated homes sitting side-by-side with abandoned buildings. This doesn't reflect on the character of the neighborhood, or the awesome people who live in it!
  • Lauren’s place was great! Definitely planning a trip back soon and would love to stay there again. The space was just beautifully simple and cozy. Thank you so much for being a wonderful host!
